I decided to get the dress of my dreams via a chinese based (US front) website Store of Dress. I asked all the right questions but got a terrible product that they wont take responsibility for and am out of pocket to the tune of $380 (+$45 for setting up the website). I'm not saying that others shouldn't go down the "cheap from china" route but I would like to suggest you visit my website first before you make your mind up.

I'm doing what I should have done from the start. Looking at some lovely ready to wear dresses by the likes of www.bhldn.com and in the high street + going on the second hand /sample wedding dress websites.

We bought several wedding items from SOD and I am just blown away at how everything was so perfect.They are one wedding dress,Da Vinci Style 8220,two bridesmaid dresses Eden 7267 , two flowergirl dresses Bari Jay 20800 and 5 men's accessories set- vest&tie&hhandkerchief.
The dress looks just like the designers in every single way. I couldn't be more happy.
We love the way Kate handled everything from start to finish. Terrific customer service.

Whatever you do, DO NOT order from this website, especially if you're a bride to be. I ordered a beautiful dress made by the designer Kitty Chen, and what I got was a hideous knock off of the dress, it didn't even look the same. It was also WAY too big, and I had even sent them all of my measurements. It also came shipped crumpled in a ball, packaged terribly. I wish I had done more research on this site before ordering, because now I realize their website is a scam. I can't believe they have the nerve to lie and send these fake dresses to people. Please save yourself the trouble and do not order a dress from this website, you won't get what you see in the picture.

I bought a dress from StoreofDress for my son's wedding. The picture on their website was of a dress by Jordon Caterina, with a beautiful beaded lace bodice and elegant trim.
What I received from this company was a CHEAP dress...they did not even attempt to create the same top on the dress. They used a cheap lace without trim at the neckline, the neckline was supposed to be a deep V...but it came with a rounded neck that was quite high. There was no beading whatsoever, and the arms holes were so poorly sewn that it cut into my arm, even though the measurement was more than adequate. The hemline chiffon hemline was poorly sewn as well, with bunches here and there. In addition, they put so much padding into the bodice that I looked like I was a 44D instead of a 38B!
When I contacted the company (which is out of China), I got very poor responses! Their English is terrible, which makes it hard to communicate with them. They kept telling me that "the dress is a copy and is not meant to look like the original". When I stated that the dress should look like what is pictured on THEIR website...they just made the same response. It has taken me 5 requests to get information for sending the dress back. I finally got that information today, but along with it, I was informed that since my dress was $217, there would be a handling fee of $64 and another fee of $56 for shipping, PLUS I would have to pay to ship it back. Are you kidding me??? They have no intention of allowing people to return their dresses for a refund, despite what their site says

DO NOT ORDER A DRESS FROM THIS COMPANY! I'm now out $200 and have no dress to wear to my son's wedding in a month. Please don't make the mistake of ordering from StoreofDress.

I recently purchased this dress after finding in a bridal store. The price in the store was 575+. This dress is absolutely perfect and looks exactly like the one in the store. I am very pleased and will use SOD again. Thank you so much for a great job.

I just received this dress . It is amazing! It's identical to the one I tried on at bridal stores. The avg price from stores was $290 - $315 + alterations if needed. Additionally, they only had a size 10, and I needed a 14. It was non-returnable. With the 7 day inspect policy from Kate at Store of Dress, I figured that I had nothing to lose -- I thought it was too good to believe, but it wasn't. I was concerned about paying with a credit card , but I've had no problems. Very easy, highest integrity, great customer service, rec'd quicker than promised, and it fits great! No alterations needed!

I bought my wedding dress and first was affraid to buy such important thing buy the internet. How surprised i was when it arrived! The dress is perfect, beatiful, with an excelent qualitity and looks exactly how I dream. Thanks everyone!

The 2 jackets are very nice and fit me very well. For the dress, I only need to alter the length and make a small adjustment for the bust. I also love it!

Contrary to the majority of reviews, I had a very bad experience with storeofdress.com (new website: storeofdress.net). I ordered a dress and received it earlier than expected. However, the dress was very poorly made. It was not at all similar to the dress pictured, poorly sewn, and seams were left undone which left a hole in the wedding dress. I requested a return and they emailed "How about you fix it in local place and we refund you some money?" After a tiresome battle and 30 pictures of the dress to support my reason for the return, I kept the dress and got a refund of $100 (the dress cost $360 including shipping). If you requests a return from this company, they charge you a shipping fee(on top of what you are paying to ship back), and a 30% handling fee. I ended up going to david's bridal and got a great dress for the same amount. Hope this helps.

Hi, i just created this account so i can warn a lot of you that all thpose positive feed backs on storeofdress are FAKE! i was reading up on them and i seriously just read the same post on each web page!!? like really. i dont think people can copy word for word and all of them had different names!. i would not advise you to buy any of there dresses.

The dress maker is located out of China (www.storeofdress.com) and all communication was done over the internet. Their website did not have the dress I was specifically looking for so I traded emails back and forth with one of their sales representatives to determine if they could make my dress based on the photos I provided and to determine the cost. Because of the time difference we had to trade emails each day but I received a new email daily as we worked to determine if my needs could be met. They were willing to discuss different types of fabrics that I could use and the different costs associated with true silks versus synthetics. They were even willing to send material samples if I paid for the shipping (about $30 due to the international postage required). The back of the dress could be done as a lace up or a zipper and I sent my exact measurements including height measurements to end up with a custom fit dress. The dress arrived in a small box within the time window they committed to. It was a little surprising to see the dress in a box so small but it had surprisingly few wrinkles from the journey and smelled fresh and new. I purposely got a dress with a lace up back to minimize the amount of alterations that would need to be done and I purposely ordered the dress a few inches to large since taking it in would be easier than taking it out. The length was exactly right (ended up shortening my heels because I did not account for that in my measurements I sent them) and with the lace up back there were no other alterations to the size of the dress that needed to be made. As with dresses purchased in the US there was no bustle included with the dress since it has to be done uniquely for every individual. I was surprised by the quality of the synthetic silk taffeta material which had the right amount of sheen without being to shiny. The lace and sequin appliques were also done fairly well and you had to look closely to see that it was not embroidered. Keeping in mind that they were working only from photographs of the dress and not the pattern itself the dress turned out very well. It was similar enough to the original design to satisfy a fairly non-picky bride like myself and I got compliments from even some of the pickiest clothing critques. There were a few things that looked a bit unfinished or not quite perfect that my mother and I with basic sewing skills (and a few safety pins) were able to fix on our own. I would not recommend this store for someone who is looking for an EXACT dress that is 100% perfect when looked at under a microscope. But for the short time it took to receive the dress (about a month) and the very small price tag, I felt this dress was comfortable to wear, looked great in photos, needed minimal fuss, and got many compliments.
