  Words cannot express our deepest gratitude to Chelsye and Ashley. They handled every detail of our wedding planning with professionalism, kindness, and calmness. They overcame all obstacles without ever having to burden us. Their resources and knowledge are parallel to none. Everything on the day-of was on time and flowed seamlessly so we could just enjoy the day. They provided for every contingency and assured us we did not have to worry about anything. And we didn’t—not even the weather!

  Helped us bring our vision to life!

  Let me start off by saying I was not one of those girls who had their wedding planned since I was 5 - in fact, I had absolutely no clue what I wanted! The one thing my husband and I both knew we wanted for our wedding was for it to be in Charleston. Living in the Northern Virginia area, we had no expertise in finding vendors in Charleston and knew we would need to hire a planner to help us out.
  
  After an introductory phone call with Chelsye, we knew we wanted to hire her - she was so sweet, bubbly, and knowledgeable. Once we got into the planning process, we knew we had made the right choice. After showing Chelsye a few inspiration photos, she came up with a gorgeous design that exceeded our expectations. The design reflected our personalities and our guests couldn't stop complimenting our reception space! Chelsye also provided recommendations for vendors for music, transportation, and makeup and we loved every single one!
  
  Planning a wedding during a pandemic was not easy, but Chelsye remained optimistic and upbeat. She was flexible in working with our venue to accommodate their changes and presented us with ideas that wouldn't take away from the wedding experience. The wedding may have been much smaller than we intended, but the design was perfect! Our wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to the efforts of Chelsye and the Intrigue team! I cannot recommend them enough!

  The Absolute BEST!

  Chelsye and Intrigue were absolute life savers for our wedding. Due to Covid we had to change a lot of things around and there was a lot of stress. Chelsye made sure everything was perfect leading up to and on the day. I don't know what we would have done without her! If you are deciding whether or not to have someone help you with the entire wedding or just the details and day of I cannot suggest Chelsye and Intrigue enough. Set aside part of your budget for this amazing service and you will absolutely not regret it!

  Chelsye and team made our wedding day the most perfect day I could have ever imagined. Chelsye was professional, responsive, attentive, and made planning so easy and stress free. I let Chelsye make most of the design decisions and I'm so glad I did- The design was AMAZING! Our wedding was perfection from beginning to end and I'm truly so grateful for everything the Intrigue team did for us on our special day.

Working with Intrigue was so much fun and Chelsye and Mia made planning a wedding feel easy and stress free. Our day was STUNNING - everything from the design to the timeline and coordination between vendors was perfect. We did not have to worry about anything in the weeks leading up to the wedding. The attention to detail was spectacular and they did an especially great job of managing communication with our families throughout the process.

  Chelsye and Mia with Intrigue were INCREDIBLE! I'm sure every bride says they had the best planner, but our day was absolutely PERFECT and it is 100% due to them! I hired them about 1.5 years prior to my wedding after getting engaged, and because of my slight OCD, I wanted to do lots of planning right up front. They were so helpful and directed me in terms of what I could do that far in advance and the timeline of other planning I needed to do along the way! As we approached our special day, they contacted every single vendor we had booked, set up a VERY detailed timeline and helped everyone stick to the plans. There wasn't a single detail they didn't think of! On the day of our wedding, they checked in on me a million times to make sure I was happy and doing well in addition to coordinating all the vendors and making sure everything was absolutely perfect! Chelsye and Mia were both so amazing and such comforting people to have around on our big day! I'm an anxious person by nature and knowing they were there and in charge allowed me to relax and really enjoy every minute of my day! They both made us feel so special and loved, and we could not be more thrilled with our choice of planner! I had a million comments from guests on how amazing our planner was, and I don't think that happens very often that guests notice the planner and how great of a job they were doing! I can't possibly say enough amazing things about them or thank them enough! Chelsye clearly has a ton of experience in the industry and knows what she's doing, knows all the best vendors, was able to score some great discounts because of her reputation with vendors, and is the perfect combination of laid back and type A so everything ran perfectly but she never once seemed stressed or overwhelmed in the least! If you are considering booking them, do it now! You will not regret it, I promise (and I'm very picky and specific in what I want)!!

Thankfully we were given the name of Chelsye Harp (and eventually Mia Heard) through a friend of a friend who was also getting married in Charleston. At the end of our very first meeting (July 2016) Mia informed us that “we do hugs not handshakes” and at this point we knew that we had found our wedding planners. From that day forward we have never regretted our decision to use Intrigue Design & Events.
  Chelsye and Mia not only met but exceeded our expectations for our wedding, They were the consummate professionals throughout the process as they listened to the vison we had for our wedding day and worked tirelessly to a create a design aesthetic that ensured every detail was perfect.
  The stress of planning a wedding and choosing vendors (hair, make-up, flowers, D.J.) from eight hours away was greatly reduced as Chelsye and Mia introduced us to many of their preferred/like-minded vendors during a December 2016 visit to Charleston. Our stress was further reduced as emailed questions were always answered in a timely manner throughout the process.
  A detailed timeline of wedding day events was presented to us two days prior to our big day during a meeting at the Intrigue Office and it was at this point that Chelsye and Mia informed us BREATHE ,RELAX and ENJOY. Based on their attention to detail we were able to do all three and our wedding day went off without a hitch.
  If you are in need of a wedding planner please, please, please begin and end your search with Intrigue Design and Events as you will not be disappointed. We ONLY gave five stars because ten stars was not an option.

As soon as I walked into her office I felt a warmness, almost like I had known Chelsye and Mia my whole life. They truly won me over and I was so excited to have found "the one." With so many choices out there from vendors, to table settings, colors, etc. Chelsye is extremely knowledgeable and her taste is impeccable. Also, from working in the Charleston area she really knows the vendors who are the best of the best. The team really knows their stuff and it made the whole process that much easier. Chelsye took the time to get to know my fiancé and I to really learn who we were, what we wanted, and at the end we truly feel we have gained a lifelong friend. As we all know communication is key and with Intrigue you always feel important and their promptness is fantastic. You never feel like a burden or annoying because at the end of the day they really care about you, your fiancé, and the wedding planning process. FAST FORWARD to the BIG day .... having Chelsye and her team is a truly a gift from above. They make sure that everything runs smoothly and honestly I just sat back and enjoyed my special day because that's what its all about.   Chelsye and her team at Intrigue are nothing short of amazing! When we first sought out a wedding planner I was unsure so I did as many do and read a million reviews and contacted a few. I knew I wanted someone who was organized and creative who I could trust to carry out our vision, but also someone easy-going and fun to work with. The moment I spoke with Chelsye I knew she checked all of those boxes! I also knew I had a vision and wanted to make all of decisions (moderate control freak) but needed guidance such as: vendor recommendations, timelines for planning, important questions/information to get form vendors, and design ideas. Again, check! Chelsye and her team were everything and more! Trust her vendor recommendations (the ones I went with were outstanding and the few I researched and picked out on my own were a slightly different story). She went to, essentially organized and ran, meetings with florists and catering so that we had all of the information we needed to make important decisions. About a month before the wedding she basically took over and handled everything from timelines for set-up, timelines for photographers, timelines for florist, timelines for us, contracts with vendors and even last minute details I overlooked. The week of the wedding was the easiest and most fun week of lives. Chelsye and Mia had everything taken care and if/when anything went wrong, they never led onto it, instead they just took care of it. Working with her on your wedding or any other event will be one of the best decisions you ever make. We will forever be grateful for her and her team and hope to remain friends!

  Intrigue will NOT disappoint. My husband and I planned a destination wedding in Charleston from Pittsburgh and every aspect of the process was handled professionally by Intrigue. Even more so in light of last minute changes associated with Hurricane Matthew; Chelsye & Mia remained calm for us making changes and adjustments without us having to worry for a second.
  
  More importantly though, throughout the whole process from start to finish, is the way Chelsye, Mia and the rest of the team truly focus on your wants as a couple and make your day the best possible day! We couldn't be happier and would use them to plan our wedding all over again! We are already telling all of our engaged friends....You have to use them!! Definitely a uniquely amazing and talented company with a down to earth planning process that doesn't make you feel overwhelmed. We can't thank them enough!

  I have nothing but fabulous things to say about Intrigue. They are truly amazing. I can not imagine how I would have planned my wedding without Mia or Chelsye. Being a destination, I was concerned about planning from afar. But both of them were always available for me!! I would recommend them 10 times over! Thank you Chelsye & Mia!

  Intrigue Design and Events was better than I could have ever imagined. I know every bride is biased about her day, but I say without a shadow of a doubt, Chelsye and Mia made sure our wedding day was absolutely perfect. I knew from the first time I spoke with Chelsye, that I would be beyond lucky if I got to have her help plan my wedding. What I didn't know at the time, was that using the word 'plan', hardly gave justice to everything Intrigue Design and Events did. I can't say I was a bride that had planned this day since I was five, Chelsye had such a knack for asking questions, figuring out different aspects that I liked, and then actually putting it to life. She made visions come true that I didn't know even existed. Chelsye and Mia worked tirelessly and always had an amazing attitudes. They took care of every detail, contract, meeting etc which took an extreme amount of stress off of my shoulders. I know I am not the only bride that had other people sharing their opinions, woes, etc; Chelsye and Mia addressed every concern and within a matter of minutes, not only told but SHOWED, me how it was all going to work out. They will haggle prices and give you the best recommendations in the area (I went with every single recommendation and those fantastic reviews are next). I wish I could write more eloquently and give Intrigue the justice they deserve. These ladies will not disappoint, if you are in the market for a wedding expert, choose Intrigue Design and Events.

  Intrigue Design and Events was better than I could have ever imagined. I know every bride is biased about her day, but I say without a shadow of a doubt, Chelsye and Mia made sure our wedding day was absolutely perfect. I knew from the first time I spoke with Chelsye, that I would be beyond lucky if I got to have her help plan my wedding. Chelsye and her team had the perfect amount of sweetness for me, a SC native, but the right amount of candor and professionalism that I expect as a Manhattanite.   Chelsye and Mia executed everything perfectly. They did both my Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding and both events were amazing but totally different. They created everything I wanted and added their own amazing ideas and creativity to certain aspects that perfectly fit our personalities. They are at the top of their game and I cannot wait to hear more about them in the future!

  Since we live in Los Angeles, we wanted to hire a wedding coordinator so that our trips to visit my parents wouldn’t be a constant barrage of wedding planning. When I met Chelsye of Intrigue Events, I knew from her easygoing nature and receptivity to wacky ideas (we originally considered a mariachi band provide the ceremony music) that she was the right planner for us. She was always listening and looking for ways to make our wedding more personalized. Chelsye knew that travel had played an important role in our story since Matt and I had lived in different cities during the first 18 months we dated and decided to pursue the relationship despite the distance during a trip we took to Berlin together early on. When Matt and I mentioned that we were thinking of buying leather luggage tags to give to our guests as favors, she suggested that they serve as both escort cards and favors and that we purchase acrylic ones so that the vintage map of Charleston, which was used as the liner of invitation envelopes, could be incorporated to make the tags more of a trip memento for our guests.
  
  Chelsye not only has wonderfully creative ideas, but she is also incredibly generous with her time. We probably met with her on at least 8 occasions, even spending 5+ hours with her in a single day for event rentals and florist meetings, and I never once felt like she was rushing us or that our time with her was being tallied against what was agreed to in the contract. Most importantly, she was amazingly serene when we had to reconfigure our entire ceremony décor plan because the threat of thunderstorms forced us to tent the site. Her calm attitude in dealing with the slew of changes this entailed was incredibly reassuring and allowed me to enjoy the pre-wedding festivities without fretting about how everything was going to turn out. Chelsye and her team made sure that everything went smoothly the day of the wedding, and we didn't have to worry about a single thing!
