Tips and Advice

Tips and Advice
1.SHOW and TELL your makeup artist what you like!
Bring pictures, photos or tear outs of makeup looks that you like along to your trial! Hair magazines, Bridal Magazines and Mens Magazines (ie Playboy and Maxim) are always a great place to find them! If you are meeting your artist for the first time, it helps to bring a photo of you with everyday makeup on as well as evening makeup for your artist to get an idea of how you look for everyday events.

2.EXFOLIATE
Exfoliate the skin on your face and body at least once or twice a week. Exfoliating with a salt or sugar scrub scuffs off dead skin cells to leave skin smother, more radiant and toned. Exfoliated skin absorbs moisturizer better, for the moisturizer does not stick to the dry dead skin cells. Do not forget your lips! Once a week, exfoliate your lips with a gentle scrub or a lip scrub to scuff off flaky and dry skin.

3. TREAT YOUR HAIR
Once a week, after shampooing, apply a deep conditioning treatment or hydrating mask to your hair. Leave in for at least 15 minutes, then rinse. For thick, coarse, color treated and/or dry hair, leave conditioner on overnight. Braid hair in two braids and pin at the crown of your head to let the heat from your scalp penetrate the conditioner.

4. PLAN AHEAD
Schedule any facial services, hair removal, treatments, and/or massages, at least one week prior to your wedding date. Facials and hair removal treatments leave skin red and blotchy and may cause acne to surface. Massages can leave skin bruised and leave you dehydrated.

5.DO NOT OVER TAN!
Only tan in a tanning bed a few weeks to a month before your wedding if you are going on a honeymoon in a warm or tropical climate. Tanning indoors is done to protect the skin against rays that are stronger in different climates, so you are less likely to burn. If you re going to self tan, practice ahead of time. Before self tanning or airbrush tanning, exfoliate your skin very well, several days in advance, in addition to the day of your appointment. Do not wear makeup or lotion on your skin prior to getting airbrushed.

6. WANT TO "GLOW"?
If you want a glow or tan to the skin, try Custom Airbrush Tanning, rather than Spray Tanning in a booth which leaves skin orange and patchy.

7. BE THE MOST BEAUTFIUL VERSION OF YOURSELF
If unsure how your bridal makeup should look, stick to classic, clean and simply beatiful makeup that allows you to look like your aboslute best. Leave trendy and retro looks, or eye makeup in hues of green blue for a fun night out! You want to look timeless and classic, and of course, your most beautiful self.

8. BE YOUR OWN BRIDE
Do not conform to the "Bridal Look." If you usually wear your hair down and simple, do not feel the need to have your hair done in a fussy updo, your husband to be and family will not recognize you coming down the aisle! If strapless dresses are not comfortable and you do not feel they flatter your figure, try another silhouette! Wear what suits YOU, after all, it is YOUR wedding!

9. BE COMFORTABLE
Find comfortable heels for your wedding day! Obviously, pick a heel height that is most appropriate for you, but make sure they are comfortable! Do not forget to break your Wedding Day Shoes in prior to wearing them! To prevent them from getting scuffed or dirty, wear them around the house while you are on your feet.

10. And last but certainly not least, HAVE FUN, be happy and do not stress! This is one of the most important days you will ever experience and want to remember. Try not to stress about small details that no one will notice. Just enjoy your day and have fun! No one likes a Bridezilla. (I am speaking from my own personal experience, it all happens so fast!) :)

AIRBRUSH TANNING Preparation and Tips:
1. Right before your airbrush appointment, shower, exfoliate, and shave. If you are having any waxing done, make sure it is done at least 24 hours before your airbrush. When exfoliating, exfoliate your face, body, hands, feet and lips. Pay special attention to your arms, chest and face when scrubbing. When scrubbing the face, it is best to scrub in a circular massaging motion, for at least a minute, concentrating on T-zone, or area prone to oil and large looking pores. After your shower, do not put any makeup, moisturizer or products on your face and body.
2. After your airbrush, wait at least 12 hours to shower. Avoid wearing face makeup for 1 hour. The tan starts developing 10 minutes after it is applied, but continues to develop for 24 hours. In 12 hours, 95% of your tan will be developed, so be patient and remember that your end result will look much deeper and darker.
3. After 12 hours, moisturize your face and body twice a day. To extend the life of your airbrush, use Prolong Moisturizer, a gradual DHA producing moisturizer that prolongs the life of your airbrush and gives you a sheer gradual dose of the same DHA used in your airbrush. To extend the life of the fan on your face, use Norvell Airbrush Mist, which is a sheer, non pore clogging tanning mist that evens out the skin tone and gives a fresh dose of the same DHA that is in your airbrush.
4. Avoid exfoliating the first week of your airbrush, as that will scruff off some of the tan.
5. Analyze your tan. Look at areas that appear darker to lighter to see if the airbrush took to a specific area of the body better. Sometimes certain areas of the body develop less than others depending on the condition of the skin. That way you can target that area during your next airbrush.
