Wedding Photography in Chicago Suburbs

We used MBD for our DJ and decided to go with a photographer with them as well – wanted to streamline the number of vendors we dealt with. Great decision!! Planning a DJ and Photographer was so simple with MBD having one coordinator for us to work with ahead of the wedding. Taylor was assigned after letting them know the type of photographs we were looking for. I had an intro meeting with her as I wanted to be sure we at least had some rapport before making final selection. She was so nice and immediately seemed like a great fit. The day of she was spectacular. Our timing was a little off schedule, and she worked with our Coordinator seamlessly to keep us on track all while still ensuring we captured all the pictures we wanted. At the wedding and reception, she was everywhere, yet very unobtrusive – you didn’t notice her unless you were trying to notice her. She blended right in with everyone. While we won’t get pictures back immediately, we’re looking forward to seeing the final outputs.

Shannon from the jump has just understood my now husband and I. She helped guide our day and came up with some unique ideas to get different photos with our guests during our wedding. Her assistant was also great as well. While they had the typical wedding photos planned, she helped us think outside of the box for special pictures we wanted and nailed everyone of them! Would highly recommend her!

She makes magic. I booked Odalys for my graduation pictures, and honesty i was so nervous. I’ve always felt like I don’t look good in pictures or never know how to pose. But she guided through everything and made be feel so comfortable and somehow capture the best version of me. The photos came out beautiful. If you are thinking about booking her, just do it. You won’t regret it. She is amazing!

One of the best decisions we made for our wedding!!! We hired John about a month and a half prior to our intimate wedding ceremony. Thankfully he was able to accommodate us! His knowledge and attention to detail was beyond what we expected. From the different areas on our venue to including different depths, angles, and lighting - he was amazing! Touching base on sunset, he was a pro at knowing what time sunset hour and how much time we needed to shoot. He asked us what our vision was and after seeing his portfolio, we told him to let his imagination run wild. He did not disappoint. We literally want to print every single photo! He was so personable throughout the process as well, he made it easy in the midst of chaos. Thank you!!!!

We worked with Jason and his wife Stephanie for our wedding on 9/28. We had actually seen Stephanie's photos first but could not be more thrilled that we had Jason there as well. They showed up 30 minutes early and immediately started to work. I had a few small requests for photos and they took absolutely every vision that I had and made them so much more amazing than I could have dreamed. They truly seem to love their jobs and it shows in their work. We received the most beautiful preview just a few days after our event.. and it consisted of about 90 photos. Each more beautiful than the last. We are endlessly grateful to have had them capture our day. One hundred percent recommend Jason and Stephanie for any life event.

Not only a great photographer but an amazing person as well. Ever since booking with Sheena for our wedding over a year out she was consistently in communication with us to prep for the big day as well as answering any questions I had about the logistics of the day leading up to it. The day of the wedding I was stressed with the timing of things and she kept me calm and assured that it would all be okay and made it work whenever we were cutting it close with time. I really appreciated the energy she had when I was stressing. Andrea also accompanied Sheena and was just as great. I definitely recommend booking Sheena’s 2nd shooter too because it’s a life saver when you’re tight on time and want to maintain your intended wedding schedule. Both women were super on top of getting all the shots I wanted and even jumped in to help outside of their photographer duties which was much appreciated. When my venue hadn’t lit all my candles minutes before cocktail hour they immediately started helping light candles and when my venue didn’t have a plate and silverware at our cake cutting table they sprinted to find some. Couldn’t be more grateful to have them there on our big day. When we had our engagement shoot with Sheena we were blown away by how amazing the pictures turned out and how she captured the sunset. I had a vision in mind and she made it come to life. All of our family and friends were astounded by how amazing those pictures were and we can’t wait to see all of our wedding photos and are already wowed by the sneak peaks she posted of our day!

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Jolanta for our wedding, and we cannot recommend her highly enough! From start to finish, she was incredibly professional, calm under pressure, and so easy to work with. Our ceremony unexpectedly got rained out, and to add to the chaos, I was in an arm cast—but Jolanta handled everything with grace, quick thinking, and creativity. Looking at our photos now, you would *never* know any of those hiccups happened. She made the most of every moment, adjusting seamlessly and capturing everything beautifully. The photos themselves are stunning. Jolanta has an eagle eye for candid shots—those little in-between moments that feel so real and joyful. Each time we look through our gallery, we’re transported right back to the day. Her ability to catch the emotion, fun, and love in every frame is truly special. If you are looking for a photography group, go with Essence. We are speaking from experience this was our 2nd wedding celebration, and the photos from Essence turned out better than the photographer from our other celebration that cost $5k. Thank you, Jolanta, for giving us such gorgeous memories to treasure forever. You are a true talent!
