About Us

Plantation Catering opened its doors in 1983 in Newport, Rhode Island. Over the years Plantation Catering has maintained its excellence and passion for serving the best possible food in all environments and locations. Whether it is a dinner for 50 or a gala for 1000, our focus has always been on the comfort and satisfaction of our client and guests. It is also our aim to achieve the highest standards of creativity in our presentations that reflect the hours we spend working on plans, finding the perfect props and designing menus that reflect our clients and serve their guests well.

Our expertise in creating themes, arranging flowers, selecting linens and orchestrating decor have brought us to the attention of many Wedding Guides and Wedding Books over the years. We are very proud to be awarded Best Newport Caterer in 2008 and 2009.

From our first meeting, I knew that Plantation was for us. The personal attention at our first meeting until walking with Kim leaving the reception was beyond my expectations. She promised us that the amazing, delicious food we tried at our tasting would be the same hot, tasty food for 200--and that was the case. The entrees and appetizers were beautiful. From beginning to end it was perfect. Our friends and family couldn't say enough about Plantation. If you want to have your hand held and feel like the only customer in the world-go to Kim and she will make it happen. My daughter and her new husband had the wedding of their dreams. Thanks to Kim and Abbe -and all the staff that made it a great event.

I love Plantation Catering -- especially their totally mouth watering white fish with mango salsa over basil mashed potatoes dish... I practically dream about it! I've had the pleasure of photographing many events with Plantation from small intimate in-home dinner parties to black tie weddings with 300 guests. Their team is always professional and on their game and their food is beautiful and delicious.
