About
Award-winning photographer, Gina DeConti and her team of talented associates, capture and preserve the drama, spontaneity and raw emotions from your wedding day for an intimate and realistic rendition of actual events. They unobtrusively integrate two cameras into the flow of your celebration and document it all exactly as it unfolds. Afterwards they transform each candid shot into a work of art with expertly applied retouching and dramatic effects. Professional graphic designers arrange and compile the resulting photos into your own personal storybook, which is then printed and hand bound in the studio’s custom line of boutique books. Visit www.imaginativestudios.com to see how this team of artists can tell your story with style.

Imaginative Studios continues to sweep my brides off thier feet with her stunning work. Gina has an eye for photo opportunities and then enhances the photos in the way she designs and lays out her albums. Her style is distinct and comparable to no other. Our concerns and anticipation are not knowing her availabilty as we dial the phone to ask. She is highly sought after and worth every penny. jennifer ellen The Event Gallery www.theEventGallery.com
Not only was I fortunate enough to learn the art of wedding photography from the fantastic Gina M. DeConti, but she also photographed my wedding in August of 2008. Gina is a kind, giving person with more talent than most can even dream of having. Her professionalism and sunny disposition make her a delight to be around and her artistic eye is limitless. In the many years that I have known her, I have seen her go out of her way to teach, inspire and put herself last to help others grow and succeed - myself included. I highly recommend her services and guarantee you will find a friend for life in her.
We love GIna and her crew. Professional, creative and easy to work with.
Gina has a true eye for detail. After meeting her and working on an event this past September at the Art Institute of Chicago I saw that she has a wonderful talent that glows in her images. I was so excited to see the images from such a creative and romantic wedding, and when they were up I was completed wow'd! She captured so many tender moments, so much fun, and of course, the beauty of the flowers! Plus, her fabulous personality makes her a great person to have around on such an important day in your life!
I have worked with Imaginative Studios quite a few times. Gina is just amazing in her relationship with her clients, other vendors as well as her work. She has an eye for detail and has captured some of the most amazing pictures that I have seen. It is always a pleasure to work with Gina, and I look forward to many more weddings together! Frequently Asked Questions
How do you identify your primary photographic style?
Our stye is a blend of fine art, fashion, and photojournalism.
Please describe any special techniques you offer:
We color correct and artistically enhance every single photograph.
Which lighting situations do you have experience with?
At a wedding we come across many different lighting situations each week. All of us have a vast knowledge of how to work in those different circumstances.
Do you have a media preference?
Digital is our preference.
How many photographers do you work with?
We have four lead photographers, and four second shooters.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
We have multiple photographers that work for our studio. The photographers are available on a first come first serve basis. The photographer that you book is the one that will be at your event along with a second photographer.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day?
No. Each photographer only photographs one wedding per weekend for the studio.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day?
Yes. We have multiple photographers who work for the studio and also belong to local professional organizations that help each other out in emergency situations.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
All professional SLRs, Lenses, and Flashes.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, always.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We have a variety of packages based on increments of time.
If hourly, are you available for shooting overtime? If so, how much do you charge for overtime?
Yes. Overtime is $500/hour.
Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal?
Yes, we ask that you provide all the photographers with a meal at the event. We typically eat while you are eating your meal so that we do not miss anything. It's also a good idea to seat your photographers in the main room in case anything unexpected should occur.
How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day?
One. Although we may have a quick snack earlier in the day if time allows.
Do you charge for travel?
Only if it's over 50 miles outside of Chicago.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
4-6 weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
They will be viewable online at Pictage.com. We also provide deluxe proof books.
How long can the couple keep the proofs?
Forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
We retain the copyright but do provide limited copyright to our clients so that they can print the images if they purchase the negatives.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.

If purchased.

Yes. We use Pictage.com.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Couture Graphic Designer Albums.
When will I get the final book?
Once you choose the images for your album and sign off on the final design, it will take two months for production.
How long does it take to deliver a book?
You can pick it up once it's finished or we can deliver it to you priority mail for an additional fee.

Tips and Advice
Most couples do not need a photographer to stay until the end of their event. It's a much better idea to utilize more of the time in the beginning of the day when more things are going on instead of having 500 pictures of your guests dancing (you really can't tell that it's a different song). You may also want to take note of what time the sun sets on your day so you can make the best use of natural light. Outdoor pictures are always more beautiful then indoor ones!
