Tips and Advice

Planning your Wedding Reception  May we suggest?

Begin with your vision of "the perfect wedding reception for you."  Let us price that and go from there.

How can we help make your vision a reality?  Look for a caterer who will make it a priority to put your personality into the planning.

Remember that the possibilities are only limited by the imagination.  Ask any and all questions that come to mind.

Have you selected your location?  Be aware of what comes with your rental -- tables & sizes, chairs, etc.

Is the caterer approved to cater at your site?  Can he/she provide the required credentials (license, insurance, etc.)?

Be sure that you caterer protects you by complying with the rules of the venue.

What type of service would you like?  Seated Buffet, Plate Service, Hors d'oeuvre Reception.

Think about you and your fiancé's favorite foods.  Any "must haves"?  Any items to avoid?

Do you have a budget within which you would like us to work?  This will give us guidance on menu recommendations.

How many people do you think will attend?  A general rule of thumb is 80% (of invitees) attendance.

Have you thought about your bar?  You can provide the spirits and save money.  We will provide the bartender.

How about your wedding cake?  Researching bakers is one of the best parts of planning a wedding ... mmm good!  You can select a baker of your choice and save more money.

Ask about fees, etc.  Does the caterer charge:  a corkage fee?  a cake cutting fee?  an additional service charge?  a gratuity?  Many hotels and off-premise caterers charge these and other fees -- We do not.

Does your caterer have recommendations for other vendors (photographer, baker, florist, valet, etc.)?  Working with a "team" who is familiar with one another is not a necessity but often a benefit.

There are countless details involved in planning a wedding reception.  The best advice we like to share is:  Call Eric & Company!
