We are still on Cloud 9 from our son and daughter-in-love's wedding May 10.
I (groom's mom) played a major role in the planning of the weekend. Purple Onion, you hit it out of the park with your incredible food and service! I cannot tell you how many guests at the wedding went out of their way to tell me how delicious the food was, how warm the food was served, and how everyone at their table finished every last bite. There was unsolicited fantastic feedback from all corners of the room on both the salmon and the beef. So thank you for hitting it out of the park!!!! People really noticed! Our bride and groom had the same feedback, saying "The food was DELICIOUS! I have heard so many stories about brides and grooms not eating a bite of dinner at their weddings... but David and I ate every crumb!"

We’re so happy we chose Purple Onion for our wedding! The menu options were fantastic, and everything we tried was delicious. The entire team, from the event designers to the servers and bartenders, was professional, friendly, and attentive. Our event designers Elle and Sydney did an excellent job, they were quick to respond and made the day run so smoothly. Even our nephew said his favorite part of the wedding was the beef, and the salmon was incredible too!

Purple Onion helped us throw the most beautiful wedding with delicious food! Specifically Phoebe and Sydney were so professional and helpful throughout the entire planning process. They ensured my husband and I had the most special day. I would highly recommend them for anyone planning a wedding because they certainly will make it a day to remember!

Purple Onion was a great friendly caterer to work with and Phoebe helped us celebrate while working hard at wedding planning! The menu was incredible and it was so hard to choose appetizers especially - we wanted them all! They were very accommodating of our requested changes for the salad. The table setting options were gorgeous and plentiful, and the food was just as good at the wedding as it was at the tasting, if not better; the head chef came out and talked to us at the tasting, and at the wedding the chief caterer at the event was kindly attentive to us personally, as we ended up coming and going during dinner to take photos. Finally, the dessert bar was so popular and even the cutting cake was incredibly delicious - an IDEAL lemon curd filling. We felt like we and our guests were so well taken care of, like we were really treating our family and friends who had traveled long and far.

Our experience with Purple Onion was fantastic from start to finish! The food was delicious, the portion sizes were very generous, and the staff were professional, detail oriented, and timely. We worked with two points of contact, Cassie and Phoebe, who were both so helpful and kind. We also got lots of compliments from guests after our wedding on how efficient and professional the servers and bartenders were! The entire staff was also incredibly attentive to us as a couple throughout the day. We’d like to give Phoebe a special shout out for all of her work helping us with our rentals as well. She was so patient with us and the million changes we made, even the week of the wedding, and truly went above and beyond for us in every way. Phoebe and her team helped make our day seamless and special and we’d highly recommend Purple Onion overall!

Working with the Purple Onion team at any event is always a dream. They are well organized, they communicate effectively, make good use of time and come in with a plan. On top of that - THE FOOD! Before you even get to the event though, you get to spend quality time with Phoebe, planning every detail of your catering selections. She is genuinely the sweetest and most detail oriented person. She does everything she can to give her clients their dream set up, and does so flawlessly. She is good to her fellow vendor team as well - all around she takes care of her people! Purple Onion was a phenomenal caterer—the food was great, the staff coordinators were helpful and communicative, and the servers were kind and efficient. We had a package that included a welcome beverage, passed hors d’oeuvres, a full bar with two signature drinks at cocktail hour (we provided the liquor), plated dinner, a cake (purchased separately), and additional passed deserts as a late-night snack.

At the tasting, Elle, our main event coordinator was very friendly and helpful, answering our questions and explaining the run of show for a wedding. Tasting portions were generous and gave an accurate picture of what we could expect the day of.

The rental appointment (through Select Events) was helpful to actually understand what the wedding would look like. We found that we tended to prefer higher “tiered” tableware than we were initially quoted for, so it was a good thing we built a cushion into our budget, but the difference was less than $10/head.

Throughout the process, the Purple Onion team members working with us were quite responsive to our questions and requests. They were able to accommodate all of our guests’ dietary restrictions and handled some last-minute additions seamlessly.

The staff present during the actual day of were very professional and friendly. The dinner service was very efficient – people were served approximately at the same time, so no one had to endure the sometimes endless wait for their table’s “turn” to be served. I will note, because we were not informed in advance, that bar staff are not permitted to serve shots and are reluctant to pour sipping liquors neat or on the rocks.

And the food, of course, was great! We went with the bistro steak, the miso salmon, and (sleeper hit) the porcini ravioli as our vegetarian option.

We cannot recommend Purple Onion Catering highly enough! From start to finish, they were amazing—flexible, responsive, and incredibly helpful. We wanted a fully vegetarian wedding, and their team worked closely with us to craft a versatile, flavorful, and crowd-pleasing menu for our appetizers, main courses, and late-night bites. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.

A special shoutout to Cassie and Sydney, who were absolute stars throughout the entire planning process. They were kind, patient, and always on top of every detail. Their guidance and creativity helped bring our vision to life, and they truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Purple Onion also helped us coordinate rentals for our tablescapes and set up the bar with delicious specialty cocktails. They did so much more than just catering— they were a huge part of making our wedding day so special.

Purple Onion Catering was absolutely phenomenal and played a huge role in making our wedding unforgettable! The food was beyond amazing—elegant, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the potato plank was a guest favorite, and the signature drinks were stunning and delicious. We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had!
