Kevin's Catering

Kevin is amazing. His food is amazing. His staff are amazing. We changed our wedding plans a month ahead of the wedding (location, headcount, date and menu) and Kevin still far exceeded our expectations. Passed appetizers included tuna, shrimp and goat cheese creme brulee. We selected duck and filet for a beautiful three-course plated dinner. Kevin even provided us rentals for the ceremony and reception (on admittedly short notice). We had done a tasting with him over a year ago, as well as ordered a number of his holiday meals, and we will be using him for any party we might have in the future. He is the kindest, most accommodating, and passionate caterer out there.

We worked with Kevin as our wedding caterer, and we’re really grateful we found him, especially on such short notice. Even with the tight timeline, he pulled everything together so smoothly.

He put together an Asian American fusion menu that both of us genuinely enjoyed, and our guests did too. We got a lot of compliments on the food throughout the night. What we appreciated most was how he paid attention to what we wanted and made sure those details were included in the menu.

Kevin was easy to work with, flexible, very responsive, and made the whole process feel a lot less stressful. We’re really thankful for the effort he put into making sure everything turned out the way it did.

Kevin's Catering did an amazing job with our wedding. I was looking for some very specific menu items and they were flexible enough to work with me to make it happen, which was not the case for a few others we were considering. The food was amazing and we enjoyed the leftovers! :) The service staff on our wedding day did a great job, too. They were there early in the day to get started, everyone was very nice and accommodating, and they even helped us get the table settings just right. Thank you, Kevin's Catering!

Kevin's Catering provided the food and beverage service for 130 guests for our wedding reception on September 23, 2023. The service included a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres and a bar, a buffet dinner, and a dinner bar. Kevin and his team did an outstanding job the day of. We, the bride and groom were assigned a dedicated server that brought us food and drinks during cocktail hour and served us during dinner. Our guests were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food and service provided by Kevin's Catering. The brisket and mac and cheese were probably the favorites but everything was so delicious. The fancy presentation of the plating was a nice addition too. The buffet line was fast and  efficient and everyone was quick to get back to their tables to devour their food. We also requested an ice cream bar instead of the traditional wedding cake and, again, Kevin and his team delivered. Our dedicated server set us up with our special “first scoop” with a legos bride and groom “cake”  topper. It was a very nice touch. The guest raved about the ice cream and Kevin's team made sure there was ice cream out with the toppings all ready to go and quickly replenished the ice cream so it did not melt and guests did not have to wait long.  

Kevin's Catering also provided us with outstanding value for what we got. Some catering quotes in Loudoun County were absolutely ridiculous in price, but Kevin’s was reasonable, and now after the fact, we can say with 100% certainty the catering service was a very good value. He worked with us through multiple menu and pricing iterations before our day-of, even with some challenging allergies. We had an amazing tasting (a whole year before our wedding) where Kevin himself cooked the delicious meal. We were so excited to have our food on our wedding day after the tasting. Our wedding day was during tropical storm ophelia, but even that didn't stop Kevin and his team from doing exactly what they were supposed to do and delivering amazing food and service.

That being said there were some hiccups along the way that we felt we were mentioned to be completely transparent with our Kevin's Catering experience: it took extra patience to make  coordinator- recommended changes written into our contract with Kevin despite clearly communicating the desired changes to him; our wedding coordinator and owner of the reception venue noted to us that Kevin's Catering left the preparation floor greasy, and disposed of food improperly in a sink that is only rated for water (no food scraps); there was certainly a language barrier between the guests and some of the servers that caused some confusion and backups at the bar; guests mentioned that the ice cream bar was taken away too quickly once dancing started; and Kevin almost did not show up (was an hour late) for the 21 day-out coordination meeting before the wedding day.

All that being said, we can recommend Kevin's catering for your wedding and value his services for a 5 star rating overall. At the end of the day, he pulled through and gave us exactly what we wanted: delicious food and good drinks with outstanding service during the reception at a great price. Just be sure to do your due diligence to make sure everything is in writing and so that all vendors (especially coordinators, venue owners, and caterer) are on the same page.

For reference, we had a 110 person guest count with passed hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour and plated dinner for the reception.

After our tasting, we knew immediately we wanted to move forward with him. The food was delicious and exactly what we asked for. He was so accommodating as I kept changing my mind on what I wanted for the menu! He patiently modified the menu until it was perfect. The actual service of the wedding was fantastic. He had a terrific team that kept people's glasses and belly's full. He even tasked someone to keep an eye on me and the groom, to make sure we were always well taken care of with a glass of wine, water, and snacks! (special shout out to the shrimp and grits appetizer) People were raving about the food afterwards, some even saying it was the best wedding dinner they've ever tasted. The food all came out on schedule and deliciously prepared.

Overall, the day was so perfect, and Kevin's Catering was responsible for so much of that! I highly recommend working with him :)

My wife, Taylor, and I are very happy that we hired Kevin to cater our wedding. He is an amazing chef; all of our guests absolutely loved the food! The wait staff and bartender also did a fantastic job. Everything went so smoothly and turned out better than I could have expected thanks to Kevin and his team!

The food for my wedding was amazing thanks to Kevin and his team! Everyone raved about how delicious every single item on the menu was. I couldn't be more satisfied with how our food turned out. My only regret is not eating more of it when I had the chance. Not only that, but I also really appreciated how Kevin's Catering was able to prepare just the right amount and avoid food going to waste.

Kevin and his staff were excellent to work with, and everything went exceptionally well. We received numerous compliments from our guests and family members about the food quality (both during the cocktail hour and reception). It was the best food we have ever had at a wedding. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Kevin was very helpful during the entire planning process. They helped to ensure a very special day! We had Kevin's Catering for a wedding brunch and could not be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Kevin is a pleasure to work with and his staff is professional. The food was delicious, beautifully plated and plentiful. The inevitable last minute tweaks were easily accommodated. We highly recommend using Kevin for your next event.

I was so worried about being able to afford feeding my guests, but Kevin really pulled through! I had a brunch wedding and he called me to discuss what my vision was. I really wanted a custom omelette bar and a custom waffle bar, but thought it was out of my budget and Kevin absolutely delivered. In addition, his professionalism is top tier and I really enjoyed working with him. His team ensured that my husband and I had bites to eat in between events, and checked up on us to make sure we had enough water and food!
