  Absolute best caterer out there

  Kevin is amazing. His food is amazing. His staff are amazing. We changed our wedding plans a month ahead of the wedding (location, headcount, date and menu) and Kevin still far exceeded our expectations. Passed appetizers included tuna, shrimp and goat cheese creme brulee. We selected duck and filet for a beautiful three-course plated dinner. Kevin even provided us rentals for the ceremony and reception (on admittedly short notice). We had done a tasting with him over a year ago, as well as ordered a number of his holiday meals, and we will be using him for any party we might have in the future. He is the kindest, most accommodating, and passionate caterer out there.

  Perfect Fit, Couldn't Be Happier

  Kevin's Catering did an amazing job with our wedding. I was looking for some very specific menu items and they were flexible enough to work with me to make it happen, which was not the case for a few others we were considering. The food was amazing and we enjoyed the leftovers! :) The service staff on our wedding day did a great job, too. They were there early in the day to get started, everyone was very nice and accommodating, and they even helped us get the table settings just right. Thank you, Kevin's Catering!

  Excellent service from the start of our conversations to the last dish cleared at the event.

  We had Kevin's Catering for a wedding brunch and could not be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Kevin is a pleasure to work with and his staff is professional. The food was delicious, beautifully plated and plentiful. The inevitable last minute tweaks were easily accommodated. We highly recommend using Kevin for your next event.

  Excellent service!

  I was so worried about being able to afford feeding my guests, but Kevin really pulled through! I had a brunch wedding and he called me to discuss what my vision was. I really wanted a custom omelette bar and a custom waffle bar, but thought it was out of my budget and Kevin absolutely delivered. In addition, his professionalism is top tier and I really enjoyed working with him. His team ensured that my husband and I had bites to eat in between events, and checked up on us to make sure we had enough water and food!

  Fantastic catering for our Rehearsal Dinner

  We used Kevin’s Catering for our rehearsal dinner and he did a fantastic job! The food was amazing and had a beautiful presentation - many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was. Kevin and his team took care of everything - food, tables, linens, etc.... He was very accommodating and flexible during the process and helped plan meal options for our many guests with dietary requirements. We were very pleased with the experience and would recommend him to anyone looking for a caterer in the area!

  My guests are still talking about the food!!

  My wedding was this past Sunday, and people are still talking about how delicious the food was! The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes...I don't know what Kevin puts in them, but they are the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten! We had everything ranging from a carving station, pasta bar, salads, breads, Mediterranean station, dessert bar and of course appetizers during the Cocktail Hour. The servers were extremely professional and very attentive. We knew we would love the food after we got a tasting earlier in the year, and we even got to bring home the leftovers which were carefully packaged up for us.   Delicious food and overall great service!

  Kevin's Catering provided the food and beverage service for 130 guests for our wedding reception on September 23, 2023. The service included a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres and a bar, a buffet dinner, and a dinner bar. Kevin and his team did an outstanding job the day of. We, the bride and groom were assigned a dedicated server that brought us food and drinks during cocktail hour and served us during dinner. Our guests were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food and service provided by Kevin's Catering. The brisket and mac and cheese were probably the favorites but everything was so delicious. We, the bride and groom were assigned a dedicated server that brought us food and drinks during cocktail hour and served us during dinner. Our guests were incredibly impressed with the quality of the food and service provided by Kevin's Catering. The brisket and mac and cheese were probably the favorites but everything was so delicious. The fancy presentation of the plating was a nice addition too. The buffet line was fast and  efficient and everyone was quick to get back to their tables to devour their food. We also requested an ice cream bar instead of the traditional wedding cake and, again, Kevin and his team delivered. Our dedicated server set us up with our special “first scoop” with a legos bride and groom “cake”  topper. It was a very nice touch. The guest raved about the ice cream and Kevin's team made sure there was ice cream out with the toppings all ready to go and quickly replenished the ice cream so it did not melt and guests did not have to wait long.  
  
  Kevin's Catering also provided us with outstanding value for what we got. Some catering quotes in Loudoun County were absolutely ridiculous in price, but Kevin’s was reasonable, and now after the fact, we can say with 100% certainty the catering service was a very good value. He worked with us through multiple menu and pricing iterations before our day-of, even with some challenging allergies. We had an amazing tasting (a whole year before our wedding) where Kevin himself cooked the delicious meal. We were so excited to have our food on our wedding day after the tasting. Our wedding day was during tropical storm ophelia, but even that didn't stop Kevin and his team from doing exactly what they were supposed to do and delivering amazing food and service.
  
  That being said there were some hiccups along the way that we felt we were mentioned to be completely transparent with our Kevin's Catering experience: it took extra patience to make  coordinator- recommended changes written into our contract with Kevin despite clearly communicating the desired changes to him; our wedding coordinator and owner of the reception venue noted to us that Kevin's Catering left the preparation floor greasy, and disposed of food improperly in a sink that is only rated for water (no food scraps); there was certainly a language barrier between the guests and some of the servers that caused some confusion and backups at the bar; guests mentioned that the ice cream bar was taken away too quickly once dancing started; and Kevin almost did not show up (was an hour late) for the 21 day-out coordination meeting before the wedding day.
  
  All that being said, we can recommend Kevin's catering for your wedding and value his services for a 5 star rating overall. At the end of the day, he pulled through and gave us exactly what we wanted: delicious food and good drinks with outstanding service during the reception at a great price. Just be sure to do your due diligence to make sure everything is in writing and so that all vendors (especially coordinators, venue owners, and caterer) are on the same page.

He had a terrific team that kept people's glasses and belly's full. He even tasked someone to keep an eye on me and the groom, to make sure we were always well taken care of with a glass...   Overall, the day was so perfect, and Kevin's Catering was responsible for so much of that! I highly recommend working with him :)

  Fantastic Food and Service!

  My wife, Taylor, and I are very happy that we hired Kevin to cater our wedding. He is an amazing chef; all of our guests absolutely loved the food! The wait staff and bartender also did a fantastic job. Everything went so smoothly and turned out better than I could have expected thanks to Kevin and his team!

  Excellent food

  Kevin's catering was phenomenal! The food was top notch, Kevin was professional, and his staff was attentive to everyone's needs. We received many compliments about how good the food was, and will be recommending him for all catering events in the future!

  Beautiful presentation, delicious food

  Kevin and his staff were amazing to work with. He came to our house to do a tasting, he listened to and accommodated all of our requests. He even gave us the leftovers after the wedding! Absolutely recommend!

The servers were all fantastic and Kevin had even assigned a specific server to my wife and I to make sure we had food and drinks at any time, which was a welcome surprise!
  We did have a few issues with the bartender. We received multiple complaints from guests throughout the evening and after the wedding that the bartender was short with them, rude, unhelpful, and lied about availability of drinks. He told a guest there was no RedBull, but we had provided a whole case which was at the bar. He told the father of the bride he was not allowed to have water before the ceremony and was rude to him for even asking. He was even short with the groom before the ceremony when trying to provide the bartender with batch cocktail recipes saying to "come back later." These issues aren't directed at Kevin's Catering in particular, but with the bartender Kevin hired for the event.
  As much as we love Kevin, there was an instance before the ceremony where he whistled at the Bride and cat called her during her bridal portraits before the first look. I'm sure he meant it as a compliment, but no one EVER wants to be whistled at and cat called, much less the day of their wedding.
  We had paid for food for 81 guests, but only 75 were able to come so we had expected to take home a good amount of leftovers especially since we had a buffet style dinner. We didn't actually get that much (5 chicken breasts and 3 servings of corn pudding). No other food was leftover which is doubtful considering the amount and types of food provided and being under our expected guest count. We understand that some leftovers may be given to the catering staff, but we even saw a large freezer bag of chicken breasts set aside at the end of the event that was more than double what we had been given. Since we did pay for 81 guests, we expected to at least get the full leftovers.

Basically, Kevin’s Catering screwed up every scheduled event for the night, not to mention the emotional stress on the bride and groom. We were constantly being told that the food was on the way out by the catering staff, which left our 120 plus guest just “sitting” around waiting for over 90 minutes. The appetizers that were selected, and amount provided, was never intended to hold guest over for this amount of time – they ran out. Then when the food did come out the presentation was basically “thrown” together on a long row of serving tables with no sort of logic or grouping. What was expected were “serving stations based on dish type”. What was provided was a long buffet line. The amount of food needed to serve our guest appeared to be underestimated by the caterer considering the amount set out. The food was just “placed” on the tables with no warmers, which resulted in several dishes being cold before all guest were served. The servers had no clue what was being served and couldn’t explain what some of the dishes were or what was further down the line. Then come to find out Kevin Catering “outsourced” the entire event from some staffing service, not bothering to inform anyone associated with the wedding party that Kevin Catering wouldn’t actually be onsite. Several people from the wedding party, the venue, and the cook made multiple attempts to reach Kevin Catering during the night – no answer or returned calls. It appears that Kevin Catering was catering another event at some other location – I guess we weren’t important. There was NO apparent coordination between Kevin Catering and the staff hired for our event based on what occurred, or didn’t occur, that night. Since the wedding we have learned that several guests stopped on the way home for food, including members of my family. Kevin Catering blamed all of the problems on the staff, which they assumed the risk by hiring. Kevin Catering did offer my son a discount based on the events, although the amount offered when considering the total paid was an insult considering the damage done and didn’t even make a dent in the total cost. I really regret that I allowed my son to contract these services and not me, because I if I had ownership of the contract we would be heading to court. Three of my kids have gotten married now and over the years I have attended hundreds of weddings and other events where catering was provided. This in my opinion was the worst catering I have ever experienced and/or have been a part of. Blaming this failure on staff that was hired is unacceptable – own it! Use at your own risk!

  We can only empathize with the bride and groom. We have been known for great food and great service for the past 18 years and this is our first and only negative review. Although the food was up to par, as per the groom, the service was not. As they did not get the service that has founded our exemplary reputation, we thought it only fair that a full refund on the balance due was appropriate. We wish Hadley & Chris a very bright future together.
