Hi everyone! How many hours is you reception, including cocktail hour if you will be having one, going to be? Our cocktail hour will start at 730 pm and the reception will end at 1130. Is this too short or is it acceptable? It will be a smaller beach wedding. Thanks for your input!

Ours was 4:30 to 5:30 cocktail hour, people were seated, grand entrance and dinner was served at 6. Reception went til midnight.

Total 7.5 hours. People either left after first dances ( around 8pm) or stayed til midnight. About 1/2 our guests stayed til the end

We have an hour cocktail and 4 hour reception. Since it's a Sunday, my guess is that it will start winding down at the 3rd hour. You should be good. There's always the after party if you want to keep it going!

I'm having my ceremony at my venue so everything will be there. Ceremony will start at 3:30pm and end at 4:00pm. From 4-4:45 is cocktail hour while we finish the pics w/ the family. From 5-9 is reception. I wanted a 5 hour reception, but we will keep partying afterwards at the hotel.

Ours is about 4-5 hours long. Our cocktail hour to start at 5:40 and reception at 6:30-10 that evening. We are inviting about 100 guests and our crowd is more mature in age therefore reception is more of a Motown fall back in love type feel.

Ceremony at 7pm, Reception from 7:30-11. Same location. We don't do all day affairs in South Louisiana. Maybe because our people get too drunk too fast? ;-)
