Another Sad Breakup Story... 24 days before the wedding...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong than I've ever been about anything in my life. I am finding it really hard to tell you guys. I am in tears writing this and feel like my last five years was for nothing. I feel so betrayed. It was his decision. I just can't believe this is happening to me. 24 days before the wedding? 18 days before I finally got to see him again finally? And less than a month before I give up my life here and move 1200 miles to be with him. I wish I could hate him for doing this to me. I wish I didn't have 250 RSVPs already. What do I do now? I really don't want to leave you girls, because you've been such a big help. I am just so devastated.

I just saw the news...I am so sorry. I wish I could fix it, but I know that I can't If you need ANYTHING please PM me. At least you foind out before the wedding that he has been cheating on you rather then after. I know that it doesn't make it right. This just pisses me off. How could something do this? I am going to be thinking about you.

You can NEVER blame yourself for someone else's actions.

right now, as hard as it is, you need to be thankful that this happened before the marriage took place becasue going thru a divorce is much worse. definitely have your mom/bm take care of all the cancellations and try and take a min-vaca if possible. throw yourself into hobbies and other activites to keep you busy. you will get thru this...this is a new and different begining for you, but it will also be such a life experience! good luck hunnie-we are all here for you, always.

Oh, I so feel for you! It would certainly be better if your mother and/or MOH/bridesmaid could contact guests to inform them of the wedding cancellation. However, I would place the onus of contacting HIS guests fully on him. Why should you take responsibility for that? I would also tally up the bill for all deposits that are now lost, divide the losses in half, and send him the bill for his half - it really is only right. Or tell him you get to keep the ring in exchange for all the monies you've now lost.

I can understand that you are hurt and embarassed - what woman wouldn't be? However, this happened through no fault of yours! One day you will look back and be so very thankful that you did not commit your life to a man who has the capacity to cheat on his woman. There is a man out there who is YOUR man. Who will love you with a love beyond all measure. This man wasn't him, and be thankful you discovered it now. Cry and mourn for the relationship - that's your due. cont

This is just too much. I cannot believe this stuff happens. I've been through pretty bad relationships and the only thing that helped was just looking inside myself for the strength and self confidence to wake up each day and try to make it through. Eventually it gets better and eventually you will become whole and find someone who will be your light. Make a list, try to divide the responsibility up among your friends or family and call who you need to call. Cry all day long while you do it, but if you can't have anyone else do it, then get it done as quickly as possible. Then go through your sad feelings and when you've given him enough thought, let him go. You've got a whole life to be treated as you should by someone who won't ever ever hurt you like this. Remember -- it isn't fair, but he's not crying over you, so try to empower yourself to keep your head up and move on.

I had the same thing happen. Mine was a Marine and cheated on me with some random girl. He didn't even remember her name. You can't blame yourself though. It was his choice. Nothing you did could or would change it. Have someone else make all the cancellation calls and tell your family. Don't let anyone else make you think this is your fault. I thought my ex cheating was my fault too. Like if I had done one little thing different he would have loved me enough to not do that to me. But then I realized that he did it, not me. That made it all on him. Surround yourself with friends and family who love you for awhile. Try not to think about it and keep yourself busy for awhile. I promise some day it will hurt less. Hang in there!!

*hugs* I'm so sorry that he did this but you did NOTHING wrong! You loved and supported his ungrateful @ss for all that time and you deserve so much better and I know that someday you'll meet someone who is 3 times the man this puke could only wish to be! (I know I sound angry but hearing about this "soldier" behave this way gets under my skin: I have family in the military and sh*t like this just gives them a bad name)

I am truly sad for all those who come so close but or yet so far apart and if it is not everlasting, then it is best you don't and even after 40years, Tippy & Al Gore are splitting up, just grateful that I have found my soulmate and best friend for life!

This makesmy heart hurt...i cant imagine how hard it must be and no one deserves to be put through this, especially you...it takes a strong woman to wait for someone that long and itll take a strong woman to eventually get through this.....so you can do it, even though it doesnt seem like it now...Please remember...tough times dont last, tough people do...and if you need any help please pm for ANYTHING...ill help you cancel a few vendor/things that you want cancelled...and also remember karma catches up to people so dont be mad at him for he will get it twice as hard.....prayers are with you.

((((Giant Hug))))) I can't even imagine what you're going through right now. As others have said, it was 100% him, it had NOTHING to do with you. You aren't to blame for anything. Sometimes men (and even women) are ***holes. As much as I want to say stay strong, you cry as much as you need to. Let it out, you have every right to be upset and MAD. This will only make you stronger. I know nothing we can say will help, but we're all sending our love and support your way.

I am so sorry you are going through this. A broken heart and lost relationship is terrible and one of the worst feelings. I cannot imagine how you are feeling. And I definately would try and see if someone can help you making the calls and stuff. I am sure your family and close friends would be way more than willing to help you. Take time truly let yourself heal even if that means crying and things like that. Let it out. Give yourself time to grieve and mourn this loss. Time does heal all wounds and over time things will begin to get better. But now surround yourself with those who care about you. I will be praying for you! Something like this just happened to my cousin too. He is the one in the army and his wife who was back home ended up doing that to him. They have a 3 year old together and everything.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. All I can think though, is if you thought this guy was amazing, just hang on to how REALLY great the MAN that you are truly meant to be with will be. Hang in there Sweetie. Cry, yell, get it all out. Then pick yourself up, dust yourself off and go live a fabulous life - you deserve it.

Girlie, I'm so shocked. I'm hurting for you right now... I had something similar happen with a Marine about 7 years ago Smiley sad

I agree with Shell, you should make his cheatin' @ss call everyone, or at least help in some way. You shouldn't be the only one dealing with something that shouldn't be happening in the first place.

You said he left you with 1200 total in the bank. Were you the only one paying for the wedding? You should take his nasty @ss to court and get something back. Depending on how nice your vendors are, you really don't know how much you'll get back on deposits and such...

But don't worry about that yet.... crying is good for now Smiley smile Cry, get some ice cream and watch Lifetime Smiley smile

We're all here for you... keep your chin up! Smiley smile

FML...I'm so sorry to hear about your break up. Please try not to beat yourself up about the details though because it isn't your fault. Don't let this make you feel like you are not good enough. Beautiful women get cheated on all the time. Think Elizabeth Hurley, Sandra Bullock, Sienna Miller, etc. And I can think of some women that I know personally who have evertyhing going for themselves but still have been cheated on. I think cheating has a lot more to do with the person who cheats and his/her values than the person being cheated on. I know right now it's rough but you will get past this one day, I promise. And if face-to-face closure is what you need...perhaps you should see if he can meet with ou to talk about it. I think at the very least..you deserve that. good luck!
