Another Sad Breakup Story... 24 days before the wedding...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong than I've ever been about anything in my life. I am finding it really hard to tell you guys. I am in tears writing this and feel like my last five years was for nothing. I feel so betrayed. It was his decision. I just can't believe this is happening to me. 24 days before the wedding? 18 days before I finally got to see him again finally? And less than a month before I give up my life here and move 1200 miles to be with him. I wish I could hate him for doing this to me. I wish I didn't have 250 RSVPs already. What do I do now? I really don't want to leave you girls, because you've been such a big help. I am just so devastated.

Same thing happened to me last time I was engaged. He decided he didn't want to get married a little under 3 weeks before the wedding. I had to go cancel everything and tell 200 people that I actually WASN'T getting married.

I cried and tried on my dress every day for like, a month after that.

Hardest thing I've ever been through in my entire life.

FML you don't have to leave us! Keep coming back for support! Please just have your mom, aunt, siblings, or bridal party call up ppl. You don't need to do it. That's just way to hard on you.

I am sorry this happened, although clearly he is not the one for you to marry and spend the rest of your life with. You have better things, experiences, and people in your future, I'm sure of it. Really, take the time to grieve, and then move on knowing that there is truly a better person out there for you. *hugs*

So sorry to hear the news! I'd send out a card that tells people the wedding is off. No need to get personal about it. Maybe something like this tucked in an envelope?

I'm so sorry hunny! I thought my relationship was going to end this weekend & I was a mess. I can't imagine how you're feeling, but if he's sorry enough to cheat on you, he doesn't deserve you. Don't beat yourself up about it. You deserve someone so much better. I really hope everything starts working out for you, best of luck hun.

Oh sweetie I am so sorry. This probably sounds cliche but this is easier than finding out after the wedding. You will find the man that's right for you, and then you will have the wedding of your dreams with a man that is more deserving of you. Your dream with this guy is ending not your life.

I'm also so sorry for the situation you've been thrown into. While it may not seem like it yet, you are extremely lucky that you got out of that relationship. Once a cheater, always a cheater...and you deserve WAY better than that! You've gotten lots of great advice on here, so I'll keep this short- he is a complete a$$, jerk-face, idiot and he will regret what he did for the rest of his life!

    hang in there Smiley smile

Oh hunnie... I'm sooo sorry!! You deserve so much better!! Someone that isn't going to be an a$$ and go behind your back.. Never think that its you!! He is the one that has problems, he thinks he isn't good enough thats usually why guys cheat! I know it feels like the end of the world but you will get through it! I have faith in you!! A million hugs and thoughts going out to you!!

What an @$$hole!! I'm so sorry this had to happen, but I like to think that things happen for a reason, even if you don't realize it until years later. *hugs* Surround yourself as much as possible with people who love you, as hard as it may be... it will get better eventually, I promise. I know it sounds cliche, but time does help to heal pain.

(((HUGS))) I know it hurts like hell now but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. It truly is a Blessing that you found out before the wedding. Is it possible to send out something to your guests rather than call them?

    .

Also I agree with the self help section of the bookstore. Although its fiction I hear Eat Pray Love is awesome!

I am truly sorry to hear of your heartbreak. Please try and stay strong and don't be embarrased. There is nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about all you did was love someone whole heartedly that did deserve all that you gave. I know this is devastating and feels like something you can never overcome, but you can and you will. It will be a tough road, but it would've been a tougher one had you married someone who didn't respect you for the beautiful woman you are. It is his loss, well actually hers since all she has found is a cheater who she will never be able to trust. Enjoy your freedom and chance to find real happiness and the love you truly deserve. Good luck and try and take it day by day.. after your done cancelling invites, unplug your phone, you owe no one explanation until you are ready.

Thank you everyone for the support. I am trying to keep busy. Last night I went out and shot at my aunt's house. Nothing quite like a 20 gauge going off to clear your mind. We are somewhat hillbillys. lol. We had ice cream and today was my hair trial. I got my hair cut because it needed it and my stylist was happy to let me cry while she did my trial. I figured I'd take a few pics with me in my gourgeous dress with my hair up and jewelry on and send a few to him and let him know what he gave up. Is that mean?

Oh well. I've got about half of the things cancelled, and he is suppesed to call tonight and I will give him a list of things that need to be taken care of, and money he needs to cover. I am relatively calm for the situation, although I go through crying fits and couldn't sleep last night. I am going out with the girls tonight I think. I just don't want to sit around. Thank you girls again and I will check in soon!

As long as you will not be upset putting the dress on, I say go for it! You have every right to make him jealous. I am so glad that you are keeping busy. I literally have been thinking about you all day (creepy...maybe, haha but I just feel bad!). It sounds like you are doing all of the right things. Do not be nice to him tonight. He does not deserve it.

@ Future MrsL-- you are definitely not a hillbilly! Shooting is VERY therapeutic. I did it after my best friend committed suicide and I couldn't have participated in any better therapy. It helps to get it all out in a healthy way. You should be so proud of yourself for the way you are dealing--- it's not easy and there is nothing wrong with letting yourself cry for the next few months. I know I probably would. Definitely lean on your friends as much as possible-- make sure they keep you busy. I know it's hard to do, even though you feel like you want to stay busy a part of you probably also wants to just curl up in a ball and sleep. Best thing you can do is fill your planner with activities you love-- most importantly with friends/ family! Please stay on here-- we're all here for you!

I am so sorry this is happening to you! I am speechless, I don't know it it is any better to find out now or to have had him continue to cheat, marry you and then tell you later once you were married. Either way, it sucks and I know there are no words I can say to ease the pain. Once again, I am so sorry you have to go through this pain Smiley sad
