Another Sad Breakup Story... 24 days before the wedding...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong than I've ever been about anything in my life. I am finding it really hard to tell you guys. I am in tears writing this and feel like my last five years was for nothing. I feel so betrayed. It was his decision. I just can't believe this is happening to me. 24 days before the wedding? 18 days before I finally got to see him again finally? And less than a month before I give up my life here and move 1200 miles to be with him. I wish I could hate him for doing this to me. I wish I didn't have 250 RSVPs already. What do I do now? I really don't want to leave you girls, because you've been such a big help. I am just so devastated.

Oh we didn't even have a honeymoon planned... Army said no to that much leave. And he left me with only 1200 in the bank. Total. So that's awesome.

I am so sorry to hear this. I know how hard it is to go through life being in love with someone who wants nothing more to do with you. It hurts more than anything, but eventually your heart will heal and life will get better. It may take a very long time, but you'll get through. This just recently happened to my cousin, although it was her husband. He was in the army. While he was deployed he met someone else. At first, he just started being really distant towards her, then started saying that he wanted a divorce. They had only been married one year and she was devastated. He agreed to go to couple counseling and she was looking forward to it. Then he suddenly changed his mind and revealed to her that he was seeing someone else. She is going through tough times right now as well. I really feel your pain, but I promise, you'll get through this. You have to make it through the rain to see a rainbow. You'll be in my thoughts

I'm so very sorry for you - like Sharon said, a relationship breakdown really *is* one of the most painful things you can go through. It's much like a death, the loss of an entire planned future. It will take a long time to heal, but you'll eventually come out on the other side - and be a stronger, better person for it. Infidelity is gut-wrenching. He deserves her and she deserves him...and you'll end up better off than the two of them combined.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this! I have an idea what you are going through, I had it happen to me once before, and my mom had the first man she ever loved tell her two days before her wedding at St. Patricks Cathederal in NY that he wasn't going to marry her.

Hang in there, it WILL get better, and when you tell your guests that HE decided to back out, I am sure they will understand. Just make sure that you aren't calling HIS guests, leave that to HIS mom! Unless it will help you to tell all his family and friends what he did to you, no you aren't mad, but you can get even a little.

Someday you will find a man who will always love you and never walk away on you no matter what. God has bigger and better out there for you so wait and be patient, this pain will pass when you find joy in your future!!

I am so sorry. I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling. No one deserves to be hurt like that.

When my last wedding was called off, I went back to the place where I got my invitations and they were able to make cancellation notices. It was just a small card that said something like "Thank you for your plans to attend but the wedding will no longer be taking place." That way I didn't actually have to speak to anyone.

I'll look into the post card cancellation notices. I just know how hard it is to answer questions about it. And to get the I told you so. I deliver pizz

    .

I know I am still young... And I'm glad. But I had my whole life planned out. I was so ready for this. And I have put EVERYTHING I have into this wedding for the past 8 months. I worked, went to school, and planned the wedding by myself. I poured my heart and soul and every ounce of my energy into planning this move, and I was so excited. I finally got to be with him after 3 years. I went to bed crying some nights because I was so alone, but I knew in less than a few months I'd wake up in his arms almost every day. And now she does. After knowing her a month? I just can't shut my eyes because all I see is them together in bed. Ugh.

    .

I know I dodged a bullet... But that bullet came from the one I love more than everything. I just don't know how to get over something like this. I appreciate you all being here for me.

Lovely-I don't think I could handle it. We will probably keep the bonfire that we are having the day after because a lot of my family is still coming in from out of town. I don't even know if I can deal with that. I'm so embarrassed. I don't want people asking me if I'm ok. Is that a real question right now?? I think I will have my best friend take me out of town next week or something. If I can get a few days off. I just don't know how I would do seeing my whole family right now.

I am so sorry to hear this...It just crushes me for you.

BUT PLEASE DO NOT think it is you...AT ALL!!

This may be hard to hear now, but down the road you will look back and say THANK GOD this happened before the wedding and not after you were married!! Just be happy you did not marry him and then find out he was continuing an affair....It would have been more of a devastatian and lie and not to mention the WASTED MONEY!!

You sound like a very sweet special person and you will find someone down the road who will appreciate this in you!! Someone who will treat you right...and you should NEVER second guess your actions...When you do that...you know it is not right!!

Take some time now to focus on yourself...keep busy with friends...do volunteer work...Join a beach house or summer house...Go out and just keep busy!! I agree with the other woman saying check out the bookstore and find whatever book will make you feel better...Do a getaway weekend with friends....Get a pet!! BEST!

I know that nothing we say will help, but please know that we are here to listen!

This also recently happened to a friend of mine. Her FH called it off, telling her that he never loved her. She's devastated, but went home to MI, where she's now beginning law school. Even though she's hurt, some good came out of it, and now she's taking a huge life step that she couldn't have done while with him.

It will take time to heal, but know that things will get better. As Brian said, focus on yourself! Do the things that you couldn't or wouldn't do when you had to consider someone else.

Saying "I'm sorry" will never be enough but when something terrible happens, it's all anyone can really say. Smiley sad I know how tough it is to be cheated on by the man you're supposed to marry (not with FH, but my ex), and no matter what anyone says it's never going to feel better. But one day you will wake up and something will just click and you will say "thank you" and you will pick up the pieces and move on. Keep your head up and if I could go kick his @ss and hers, I'd do it for you!!

I"m so sorry..I'm sending you many hugs and the strength to help you pull through this. I think if you ask your mom or a close friend to call all the venues, they'd gladly help. Again, I am so sorry.
