Another Sad Breakup Story... 24 days before the wedding...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong than I've ever been about anything in my life. I am finding it really hard to tell you guys. I am in tears writing this and feel like my last five years was for nothing. I feel so betrayed. It was his decision. I just can't believe this is happening to me. 24 days before the wedding? 18 days before I finally got to see him again finally? And less than a month before I give up my life here and move 1200 miles to be with him. I wish I could hate him for doing this to me. I wish I didn't have 250 RSVPs already. What do I do now? I really don't want to leave you girls, because you've been such a big help. I am just so devastated.

Sharon, I know in my head it's not my fault, and I've told friends that before. Well, now I know. I know that what ran through my head and still is: I'm not pretty enough, skinny enough, didn't do enough to make him happy, wasn't there for him the way he needed me.. We started fighting around the time it happened and all I can think is "If I would have just shut my mouth..." I feel like this is the worst pain in the world. I know it's not. But it is such a loss.

I am so sorry. Lean on your friends and family, and us ladies here.

I don't know what to say, as there's nothing to be said that will make you feel better, or take the pain away, but here's a virtual *hug* for you.

Very true Lizzie, it does. I am very sorry :-( He is a loser and he doesn't deserve you. At least you are so young and can find someone much better than him.

@FML - it IS one of the worst pains in the world, and you have every right to feel this way. I know it's hard to get your heart to listen to your head, but trust me..you are beautiful, smart and he has a lot of growing up to do. You didn't do anything to make him go to another person, he did because he was scared of commitment and too immature to deal with his feelings like an adult. Men don't cheat because the other woman is better, they cheat to run away because they are cowards. Actually most times, they cheat with women less attractive and not as good as their fiance/gf/wife.

It hurts like hell and although we can it'll get better until we're blue in the face, it will hurt..but you will come out of this a better/stronger person. Please get help from your family with the arrangements. But give yourself a couple of days to mourn the lost before you do ok?

we care about you and we are here xxx

For any of you who are my friends on facebook, I am not posting anything about it yet, and only about 5 people know. So... I guess I'll say something about it in a few days when I tell the guests, but until then don't post anything ok? I appreciate it. I don't want to deal with all of the questions from guests right now, and I don't want to tell everyone about the cheating, because I don't feel like dealing with everyone on facebook. You girls are the ones I look to for support. Thank you.

I'm so sorry for your pain right now...there is no excuse for what he did to you and it is NOT your fault. The fact that he isn't even man enough to talk to you face to face shows how much of a jerk he is..I haven't been on WW long but if you need to talk please feel free to contact me... (((hugs))) Keep your head up. You are worthy of a real man and he will find you...

This may sound stupid, but going to self help section of the bookstore was always theraputic for me. I'd buy about 10 books on books that empowered me, about strong women, on commitmentphobia...all kinds of stuff. It took my thoughts out of my head and allowed me to realize it wasn't my fault. I read them religiously for months after the break up.

Aw, sweetie, this is ABSOLUTELY NOT your fault! He's being an immature little brat and in no way deserves you. I'm so sorry for everything you're going through... I promise, things will get better.

Im sorry to hear this! You really are the bigger person for not wanting to drag him through the mud! I know if it were me I would be telling everyone that he cheated... I commend you for that. You will make it through this... your young still ... so much time to meet someone new and great who will treat you right!

I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. Nothing anyone can say will help right now. Nothing you did was wrong. You did everything right. He was just not right. He was the one that did not do right. You are perfect. None of this is your fault. He is at fault. Do not let anyone blame you. Let your Mom or your MOH take over cancelling the wedding. Have them send out wedding cancellation postcards to anyone you invited. Have him pay for the postage. A simple 'the wedding has been cancelled' will suffice. This is what we did. If you have e mail address send a simple e mail. Then just take some time to yourself to morn the loss and pamper yourself. You are special and someone soon will discover this and appreciate you for all the wonderful qualities that you have.

That is so terrible. I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through. Eventually you'll see this as dodging a bullet. You saw his true colors before you married him (thank god....)

You're a strong girl. You're beautiful and absolutely worthy of a guy who is eager and willing to love and commit to you.

I wish you the best. Pleaseee stick around? :]

I'm so sorry! I have been in somewhat of the same place. I was engaged for almost 2 years and then out of the blue was told he was cheating on me and was done with me and was going to date her. He then would do all the same things with her and all. Karma will come to him, she then cheated on her. I know this isn't helping now, but my ex cheating was the best thing that happened to me in the end, I am with my fh now! you are in my prayers
