Another Sad Breakup Story... 24 days before the wedding...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong...

I am absolutely devastated. It's been rough with the stress of us being apart. But I knew we would make it because we made it through 3 years apart and a 15 month deployment. I knew it would all be fine, even though he's been distant for a while. But as of a few hours ago I guess I was more wrong than I've ever been about anything in my life. I am finding it really hard to tell you guys. I am in tears writing this and feel like my last five years was for nothing. I feel so betrayed. It was his decision. I just can't believe this is happening to me. 24 days before the wedding? 18 days before I finally got to see him again finally? And less than a month before I give up my life here and move 1200 miles to be with him. I wish I could hate him for doing this to me. I wish I didn't have 250 RSVPs already. What do I do now? I really don't want to leave you girls, because you've been such a big help. I am just so devastated.

I'm new to WW and didn't have time to read all of these posts, but I have to beg you NOT to get all dressed up in your wedding dress or send him pictures to show him what he is missing out on. As you said, he will realize on his own one day what a big mistake it was to do this to you. However, seeing as how insensitive he is being towards you right now, he will look at the pictures and think you are desperate for him back. Don't give him that satisfaction. Sorry... I am a very blunt person and a tough love kind of gal. I like to see people keep their dignity intact. None of this was your fault. You know that! He is just a jerk who obviously doesn't care about anyone else's feelings. He only cares about the feelings in his pants. You should consider yourself lucky all of this happened before you got married. Once you've had time to heal, you can look forward to meeting a REAL man who will treat you like a QUEEN!

Sweetie, thank you for updating us. I'm so glad his family does not side with him, they must be going through a really hard time right now too. I've been thinking about you lately (after reading this thread) and I can't stop thinking that you really did dodge a bullet. The hurt will fade when you find someone who will love you and respect you, which is exactly what you deserve. *hugs*

I'm still doing ok, at least during the days. I appreciate everyone's caring. I don't sleep much and have been having trouble eating, I just have no appetite. It is still hard, and sometimes I just bust out in tears. I think I will be moving into an apartment in the next week or so. I need a change. My best friend told me he would stay with me for however long I need him to. So that is a blessing. I will let you guys know how the move goes. I haven't been up to the forums yet, but hopefully soon I will be able to deal; I just don't want to leave this site, because you ladies have been a huge help.

FML, don't go! Stay here as long as you like for support, shoot the breeze, whatever.

Each day won't be a bowl of cherries but it will get easier, if you keep yourself busy too--like take care of you and all the things you wanted to learn or do or accomplish! How about decorating the apt? And then tell us about it. Smiley smile

Aww oh my gosh I am so sorry. You just have to tell yourself everything will turn out fine in the end of it all. I don't know what to tell you except that dont worry because you have friends who care about you and family to support you no matter what happens. Just keep your head high and always look to the stars and when life throws things at you just accept what comes and look to the future. Smiley smile everything is going to be fine

As much as it may hurt now, God makes things happen for the better and sometimes when we think that its the worse thing ever, it can turn out to be the best thing ever. Pray about it and keep moving foward. Don't let him keep you felling down about it, because he had to move in order for the right person come along in the near future that deserves your love. keep in mind that "the grass aint always greener on the other side". Hold your head up! If you need emotional support we are here for you.

I am a vendor so have never posted on here before as I don't want to seem opportunistic...I just logged on actually to browse for the very first time and your post made my heart ache and just made me want to respond....

I work with military troops, have had many military brides, and just returned from Walter Reed and Malogne and I see and witness constantly the excruciating process of being in love with a serviceman. On top of that, to have that trust, that bond, the hopes of what could "be" when everything could someday be "normal"...and to lose it so completely.

I guess I just wanted to let you know that someone out there who you don't know is saying a prayer for you today and sending a virtual embrace of empathy. Please stay strong and know it will pass with time, and in the end it truly is true that the closed door only leads to an open window....

Thank you all again. I am doing better every day. I am seeing a lot of opportunities. But it is really hard because I guess his cousin told everyone what he did, and there is a lot of hateful behavior going on. I still can't stand to see him treated that way. I feel hurt for him every time I hear someone say that he is a bad person, because I know it's not true. He lost himself along the way. And he has broken my heart. He knows that we can never get back to how we were, and I think it will be really hard for him when he realizes that he threw away an amazing future for someone who doesn't even care for him. And nobody could ever care for him the way I could. I truly hope that someday he finds a way to be happy, but I know it will be a long road for him.
