JuneBug was at the center of our wedding story. This is where our planning process began & it is where we had the best day of our lives. It was truly perfect & that is not something I say lightly. JB was the only venue we looked at & it was immediately clear to us that it would be the perfect place to have this precious moment in our lives. The setting is incredible & unlike any place we have ever been. The flower field was gorgeous, created w/love & was a beautiful backdrop for photos. The creek sounds gave a sense of ease & grounding. The shaded ceremony site w/built-in natural seating blended in & looked like it was a magical setting you came upon in the forest so you could sit & witness something incredible. Honestly one of the biggest selling points for us, aside from the amazing retro/vintage campers & all-around vibes, was Charlene, who owns & operates the venue w/her husband Tom (who is also so kind & supportive). Charlene was an integral part of bringing our day together. She is a VIRGO QUEEN! She immediately made us feel comfortable & cared for & like we could plan this daunting event ourselves, & that it would be about us, & she gave us tools & reassurance to do so. She knows what she is doing & she loves doing it & that meant everything to us. From her preferred vendor list to her help when we were in decision fatigue & overwhelmed, to her impeccable & flawless performance as our day-of-coordinator. She orchestrated our wedding day to run like a well-oiled machine, w/vendors being coordinated well & on time, & made sure events & people were where they needed to be & when, while still doing it w/love & fun/chill energy. She is so experienced & professional that she took care of everything behind the scenes so that we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. She was so stress-free, it was refreshing & exactly what we needed. We are a lesbian couple, & while Asheville is more progressive than other NC places, it is definitely not always a guarantee that a venue will feel safe & welcoming & supportive. At JB, we immediately felt seen, were treated equitably, & felt just as much excitement (if not more) for our union to take place there. Later in the planning process when we faced hard familial decisions & discussions, because it isn’t always easy being queer in the south, we reached out to Charlene & were met w/understanding, compassion, & the best embrace we could have asked for. It was just pure love when we needed it most. We will always be grateful for that. The atmosphere on the other side of the venue & the campers were such a sweet & unique focal point. Getting to stay in them was so special & created a warm & vibey setting where we got to feel into the past, be present, & step forward into our future together. From the rehearsal & welcome party, to getting ready in the camper together, to the First Look at the Treehouse, to guests getting to explore the forest resort, to the after party at the fire pit, to bagels & coffee the next morning, the entire weekend felt like our own private camp, our own private bubble where only love & support existed. The whole venue created that energy for us in so many ways & we are forever grateful to be a part of the JB family now. The JB staff also deserve a huge shout out (& an extra thanks to you, Greta!) for running everything so smoothly & professionally, from the rehearsal on Friday to check out on Sunday. They were full of nothing but love & support for us as well, & they felt like family, too. Asheville is our home & JB just felt like such an extension of the people, feelings, & mountains that we love here. It was & will always be a place that holds such beautiful meaning for us, & we will continue to go back there as much as we can. Words cannot fully capture what JB or Charlene & Tom mean to us, but I hope you will get to go there one day & witness the magic that is JuneBug Retro Resort.

Henderson Acres is truly beyond anything we could’ve hoped for with our wedding venue. First their actual outdoor space and house is so beautiful it is straight out of a magazine picture perfect. The decor and stone within the house is such an elevated look we were in awe of. They are constantly adding things to the space and not to add things you need to pay for but to offer plenty of things for you to enjoy to use during your day. For instance there was several items of decor we used from them that we decided day of to use and the flexibility of that is incredible. They have a reasonably priced furniture package that their venue staff helps set up on wedding day and they have a retractable tent in case of inclement weather. Next the staff is absolutely incredible. Seriously beyond kind, helpful, responsive, and authentically caring. Planning the wedding was a dream with them, and the staff the day of was beyond kind and helpful ensuring the day ran smoothly. An example, we had one guest who was in a wheelchair and had to have an uber come to the venue for pick up/drop off - the staff without being asked drove to the bottom of the driveway waited for the uber and personally escorted them to the top. That kind of hospitality was noticed by our guests who raved about their kindness. I could write about so many more amazing things this venue has to offer. We received countless (truly countless) compliments on this venue and the venue staff from the beauty of the space to the kindness and authentic care everyone felt. I think there is something special about a family owned business and this venue is a prime example of it! Without a doubt the best decision we made in our wedding planning was booking Henderson Acres after so much searching - couldn’t recommend more!!!

Our wedding day at Claxton Farm was everything we dreamed of and more. I had it on my radar since before getting engaged as it was recommended to me, and it ended up being the only venue we toured — that’s how sure we were! The moment we stepped onto the property, we felt an overwhelming sense of peace and just knew it was where we were meant to say “I do.” The setting instantly captured our hearts. Surrounded by mountains and nature, Claxton Farm is truly the idyllic Asheville venue. From ducks gliding on the pond, to sweeping willow trees, to goats who completely stole the show! We feel so incredibly lucky to have been married here. Claxton Farm delivered not just a stunning setting, but a full experience that felt effortless, joyful, and completely us. Emily and Molly made the planning process seamless with their professional and thorough communication. They helped keep me calm throughout all of the decisions and planning, always reassuring me that it was all going to work out. On the day itself, our coordinator Jackie ran everything like an absolute boss — calm, efficient, and on top of every detail. From a drink in our hands to food on our plates (and making sure our vendors were fed!), we didn’t have to worry about a thing. That allowed us to be fully present and soak in every moment. We chose a variety of passed hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour and barbecue for dinner and all of it was incredible! Our guests are still raving about it and I'm still thinking about the mac and cheese! Claxton Farm exceeded every expectation and we'll cherish our wedding day for the rest of our lives. Without a doubt, we'd choose Claxton Farm a thousand times over!

Beyond supporting a small family owned business, with excellent accommodations and very good pricing, Lewis Farms will not disappoint as a wedding venue. Sherri and Dewayne were excellent in the process of preparing for my daughter’s wedding. Their familiarity with weddings was greatly an asset during an otherwise stressful process. They made accommodations for special request and were very involved in making the venue exactly what was dreamed of by the bride. Sherri has many choices of included decor for setup from table cloths, flower arrangements, photo walls, cake stands, catering dishes and other items a father doesn’t know much at all about. Have been told these items are often not included and that her huge selection is quite unique. The remodeled barn setting, rolling hills in background of the ceremony and outdoor dance floor was just what my daughter wanted. Can not recommend them enough. Sherri and Dewayne thank you so much!
