About

Windfern was founded in 2016 with the goal of offering beautiful and elegant classical music to wedding ceremonies in Maine. They have added an expanding repertoire of popular music for more variety and moods. Live music adds a perfect touch of elegance, romance, and intimacy to a wedding ceremony to help make the day unforgettable.

The dynamic ensemble is made up of dedicated and skilled musicians based in Midcoast Maine. They absolutely love weddings and care very much about making your day even more special. The sweet soaring sound of the flute can be accompanied by violin, viola, and/or cello depending on preference and venue size.

Beautiful addition to our wedding

Maho and Windfern Ensemble were a fantastic addition to our wedding. They were fantastic to work with and added a lovely classic touch to our ceremony and cocktail hour.

A very classy addition to our wedding day!

The Windfern Ensemble (trio) provided beautiful music during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour over Memorial Day weekend. Maho and the other ensemble members are incredibly talented and professional musicians with an extensive repertoire. Maho was wonderful to work with in the months leading up to our wedding—she is a great communicator and makes the process of selecting pieces easy. The trio’s timing of the music for the ceremony was perfect and the variety of classical and popular music for the cocktail hour was really fun. The Windfern trio was a very classy addition to our special day.

Beautiful wedding music

Windfern Ensemble provided excellent music for my wedding in August. The musicians played classical and popular selections during our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. It was beautiful. The music was lovely and perfect for our intimate, outdoor wedding. Maho is extremely professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend booking Windfern Ensemble.

Excellent!

Windfern was incredible! We are so happy that we booked them. Music was beautiful and easy to work with. They kindly accommodated our special requests for songs. Highly recommend.

Ceremony & Cocktail Hour Musicians

We feel so lucky to have found Windfern Ensemble for our wedding. They made our ceremony and cocktail hour extremely special. All three of them were so talented and professional, and Maho was so sweet and easy to work with.

Fantastic Musicians

Wish we could give them more than 5 stars! We could not have been happier. Maho was flexible, understanding and professional throughout the wedding planning process. We had an intimate outdoor ceremony on Mt. desert Island, and Windfern helped make the event absolutely magical for all our guests. They are fantastic musicians, too. We highly recommend them!

Maho and her ensemble were such a special addition to our wedding. Maho is thoughtful, kind and really works to make sure your special day goes perfectly. She's super easy to work with (she really wants your wedding day to be special and will make sure they do their part to make that happen for you) and they are so talented. The music was beautiful and elegant. We asked for a few special requests and they knocked it out of the park. I knew the minute we hired them, we wouldn't have to worry about a thing. They were prompt, played beautifully and our guests really enjoyed it. Thank you for making our day so magical!

We're so glad that Windfern Ensemble played on our wedding day. Their elegant music and professionalism provided a classy touch to our procession, ceremony and cocktail hour. They were easy to work with and perfectly learned a song that we had requested. They listened to what we were looking for and genuinely wanted to do a great job for us, which they did. We hope to work with them again!

I am so thankful that we asked this talented group of individuals to be a part of our "big day". They are very accommodating and even learned two new songs for us! Every single one of our guest commented on their talent! Luckily, Maho was perfect at guiding us in the right direction with song suggestions and instrumental ideas because I was completely clueless. They added the perfect classy touch to our ceremony and I could not be more thankful.

Windfern was the perfect addition to our wedding. Right from the beginning the communication flowed effortlessly, allowing us to pick out the music we wanted for each part of the ceremony and cocktail hour, while providing sample music to make sure we knew what we were getting. They were able to navigate the parking, bus ride, and ferry trip out to Chebeague Island without hesitation and arrived looking like they were daily commuters. I would highly recommend Windfern for your wedding, I know I wouldn't have wanted anyone else out there playing for us.
