Johanna Sorrell was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. We were so lucky to be connected with Jo so early on in our planning process. The best advice we got was to pick a photographer we felt connected to since we would be spending by far the most amount of time with them on our wedding day. I didn't want my wedding to feel like a photoshoot. Once the ceremony was over I just wanted to enjoy myself. She really honored that request. Jo was so invested in our wedding. From our very first interaction, Johanna was efficient, attentive, and timely in communication, often providing long and thoughtful responses to our many questions. We chatted on the phone, had zoom calls, and met in person prior to the big day. She really wanted to make sure she understood our vision. We were lucky enough to get to do our engagement photos last summer with Jo. When I say she was lying in the middle of the street while we were driving at her on a vespa.. I mean it. See photos below. She will do anything for the shot. We wanted our photos to be extremely vibrant which as you can tell she clearly captured! She can also really organize the obnoxious family members and tell them where and how to be. Her work was incredibly thorough, and she was able to capture all the special moments of our day quickly and seamlessly. We got a sneak peak back within days of the wedding! We got all the photos back within weeks which shocked us! She is such a hard worker. Johanna truly made us feel so calm and seen on our wedding day - we now consider her a dear friend. The value and quality of her services far exceeded our expectations, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

We had the pleasure of working with Nick and his team for both our traditional tea ceremony and wedding and couldn't be happier with everything they captured! My partner and I aren't super comfortable in front of the camera;however, Nick's guidance and easy going nature made our special day feel effortless. We are so grateful and cannot recommend Life in Focus enough!

We were so, so happy to work with Aaron for our August 2025 wedding. My husband and I are not naturals in front of the camera, but Aaron made us feel totally at ease. His timing for the wedding day was great; we never felt rushed. To say we loved how the pictures turned out is an understatement. They were delivered less than a month after the wedding, which was faster than I expected. He has an amazing eye and we were so glad he captured our day. Thank you!!

James was incredible to work with from start to finish. He was prompt, professional, and brought a calm energy that made both our engagement shoot and wedding day feel exciting and comfortable. His documentary style allows the day to unfold naturally, and the photos feel genuine and like a realistic rendition of the day. He has an incredible eye for candid moments but also made sure we got every classic shot and did a great job managing the group photo shoot. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out and would recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and easygoing wedding photographer who excels in outdoor settings. If you get the chance, stop by his studio in downtown Portland for a beer.

Ned and Julia were absolutely amazing photographers for our wedding! From start to finish, their calm presence helped us feel relaxed and fully present, during both the busy, exciting moments and the quiet, intimate ones. They worked with us to capture all the family photos we requested, and then focused on the moments that truly mattered - the sweet, candid interactions, the laughs, the smiles, and all the genuine emotions that made our day so special. Their thoughtful suggestions, attention to detail, and seamless teamwork ensured that every angle was captured beautifully. Our first look photos perfectly reflected the love and joy of the day, and receiving them the next day was such a wonderful gift. From the ceremony to the reception, Ned and Julia captured the magic, emotion, and energy of the day in a way that exceeded our expectations. We felt so cared for every step of the way and we’ll be forever grateful to them for documenting memories we will cherish for a lifetime.

Their are so many nuances to navigate that are so unexpected at a wedding, I'm not sure how we would have done it without Sarah. Not only does she provide amazing photography, but the best guidance and support you could hope for. Can not recommend her enough, she really helped make our wedding special!

We had such a great experience with Joel! He’s professional, easy to work with, and the photos turned out amazing. We still treasure the shots he took of us. Five stars all the way!

I could not be more grateful to have had Alexandra’s expertise on our wedding day. When I saw Alexandra’s work for the first time, I could see right off the bat that she was amazingly skilled; not only were her shots stunning with tons of gorgeous natural light, but they felt truly genuine and real – and to me that was extremely important in selecting a photographer to capture our day. The photos Alexandra captured are absolutely OUTSTANDING. When we looked through the full collection of pictures for the first time, it brought us both to tears, and they continue to make us smile every time we look through them!!! The way she was able to capture the emotions throughout the day as well as the genuine essence of us and the essence of our family and friends was just so beautifully done. You can truly feel the love and emotion in each photo. She even captured some beautiful candid shots of my dad smiling, which is not an easy feat since he is typically very uncomfortable in front of the camera! Leading up to our wedding day, Alexandra was extremely responsive and thoughtful, and set up multiple calls to talk through the schedule, day-of details, and important shots we wanted to be sure to capture. She really took the time to get to know us and what we were looking for. Having never been through this process before, we had zero clue what we were doing and genuinely appreciated how thorough she was about planning and communicating about all of these details in advance! We felt like we were in such good hands the entire time, and that really put our minds at ease and helped us feel so much more comfortable. Alexandra was also extremely flexible on the day of our wedding; she traveled back and forth to two different locations to capture our ceremony and reception. We also had to make a last-minute call on whether to move forward with an outdoor ceremony given the uncertain weather forecast (we opted to do it outside, and it was totally worth it!) Alexandra was super chill and easygoing about it, and we so appreciated her ability to go with the flow. I can’t say enough good things about Alexandra! Not only is her work amazing, but she is a lovely person all around and truly wonderful to work with! We will cherish these photos forever and are endlessly grateful to have these pictures to help us remember our special day.

We hired Patrick as the photographer for our wedding in York, ME, and it was a great experience - he's very friendly, responsive, timely, and professional. We live in Colorado so it was important that our vendors be easy to work with and communicative, and Patrick nailed it. He cares about his craft and the quality of his photos reflects that. He also made sure to work through a list of people and locations with us in advance to make sure we got all the photos we wanted - which was especially helpful day-of when everything is flying by and you're getting pulled in all sorts of directions. We can't recommend Patrick enough and are so glad we went with him!

Christina blows us away with her talent! She made my dreams come true with our beach proposal/elopement shoots & we are so excited to use her for our upcoming wedding! There’s no one else I’d go to or recommend someone to! It was so natural and in the moment, which was my favorite part. She made it just perfect!
