James was incredible to work with from start to finish. He was prompt, professional, and brought a calm energy that made both our engagement shoot and wedding day feel exciting and comfortable. His documentary style allows the day to unfold naturally, and the photos feel genuine and like a realistic rendition of the day. He has an incredible eye for candid moments but also made sure we got every classic shot and did a great job managing the group photo shoot. Working with James for our elopement photos was the best experience we could have asked for. He was so easy to work with and he understood what our unique goals were for our elopement in a way that made the entire process stress-free. It was clear from the beginning that he has lots of experience shooting in Acadia National Park (where we wanted our photos taken) and working with elopements and micro-weddings. He gave great suggestions and cues throughout the session that never felt too posed and then turned into perfect shots in the final gallery.

Our photos turned out better than I could have imagined! His work is warm, grounded, and playful. Exactly the things that drew me to his portfolio in the beginning, so it was amazing to see my own photos turn out with the same quality and aesthetic. Photography was one of our priorities for our wedding, but neither of us particularly enjoy being in photos - so we wanted to minimize posed photos as much as possible and focus on enjoying our day. James was perfect! We FLEW through our posed photos, while still capturing all of the images and group combinations we wanted, and received beautiful candid shots that captured our day without any camera-shyness or discomfort on our part, since James blended right in. We also had a death in our family shortly after our wedding and when we requested photos of our family member who had passed, James came through within just a few days (during wedding season!) to share them with us, which was so helpful to our family during a difficult time. Hiring James for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. He was so kind and made us feel at ease, as people who don't normally shine in front of a camera. On our wedding day, it ended up pouring rain. James was such a good sport and weathered the rain with us happily. The photos (esp. in the rain) came out incredible. We're so happy with them.
