Our experience hiring Beacon Bar & Bistro was excellent. I hosted a small destination elopement party for my daughter's wedding in Bethel ME. The couple were looking for something meaningful to their relationship and BBQ after snowboarding or hiking was their dinner choice. The weekend of their elopement just so happened to fall during peak leaf peeping in the mountains and the Freyberg Fair (which I'm assuming was having a BBQ competition that weekend). After calling and email any and all local to Bethel BBQ places (and there are many) and receiving NO responses, I turned to The Knot for help. At this point I was willing to drive hours to give the kids what they wanted for this momentous occasion. I reached out to Lisa Cooke, Owner of Beacon Bar & Bistro, responded immediately. Lisa didn't just take my order but she went out of her way to help me nail down exactly how of each item I should order, she advised me on what not to waste my time and money and put this mother of bride's mind at ease. She did not rush me though the process and answered no less than a hundred questions, some of them not even related to the catering! Shortly after our initial conversation concluded Lisa called back to let me know that she and her chef would be at the Freyberg Fair that weekend. Lisa and her team went out of their way to still work with me and help me pull of the dinner. When all was said and done, the BBQ was outstanding, (pulled pork, jerk chicken and brisket) there was more than enough of the delicious BBQ to cover not only the dinner, but lunch for traveling guests the next day. Thank you to Lisa and her team for an outstanding job and accommodating our party while onsite at the fair!

Andy and his team were great. The pizza was very good and speed that they were able to keep food coming throughout our ceremony was perfect for our event. Andy is kind and easy to work with. We highly recommend them for your event!

Edward and his staff are true professionals. From the first phone call, it’s clear Edward knows food. He was professional, always early, and so easy to work with. And the food: incredible. I dream about the lion’s mane mushrooms he prepared for us. The steak, chicken, apps, and service were all impeccable. His flavors are balanced and original. His professional team made our perfect day even more so.

Gina and her team were absolutely incredible to work with, from start to finish. From the very first phone call, Gina was accommodating, kind, and excited to share in our joy. Subsequent phone calls showed exceptional attention to detail and careful record-keeping that kept the event running smoothly. Gina created a wonderful menu based on our favorite foods and helped create a bar set-up that suited our mostly-sober guests. Gina seriously went above and beyond to track down my husband’s favorite beer for the night!!! The pumpkin ravioli and brisket were phenomenal. We had a dessert “platter” of unending cookies, bars, and pies which wowed the guests. Every single one of her staff were friendly and kind throughout the entire process. I can’t recommend Above & Beyond enough!

We are so glad that we hired Heidi as our wedding caterer. She was great to work with and made a custom meal with local ingredients based on our requests. She also went out of her way to give us a thorough tasting so we could pick our favorites. Her staff at the wedding were professional and efficient. And the food was delicious!

We hired this charcuterie cart for our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made! From the very beginning, the food was fresh, the service was friendly, and incredibly professional. They were so easy to work with—flexible, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. What really stood out was how customizable everything was. We had a specific vision, and they brought it to life effortlessly. We even requested individual charcuterie boxes for our pedicures the day before, and they exceeded all expectations—beautifully packaged, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Autumn truly saved our day after our other caterer fell through 30 days before our wedding. Not only was she kind and a pleasure to communicate with you could tell she genuinely cares about the couples she works with and more importantly puts so much care and thought into the food and where items are sourced from. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh and all of our guests are still talking about the delicious brisket months later! you will not regret booking Dirigo Farms for your event!! Coastal Critters Clambake catered our rehearsal dinner in my Aunt and Uncle's backyard, and they were perfect! We reached out to several lobster bake caterers and are very glad we chose this group. James worked with us from the beginning to cater an excellent dinner within our budget. His communication was super fast and efficient. He and his team showed up exactly when they said they would, and were totally self-sufficient. They brought everything they needed, and didn't even need an electricity or water hook up. Dinner was ready exactly on time, and it was fabulous! People raved about the soft-shell lobster. They provided excellent non-lobster options as well. They helped with clean up, and took away the trash for a small charge. James and his team were a super local and kind group, and we can't recommend them enough.

My husband and I were married at the Maine Classic Car Museum on 8/23/2025. We knew from the getgo that Lady Shuckers would be perfect addition to our cocktail style reception, and we were right! The booking and contract process with Lubby was seamless! Birdie, who served our guests, was fantastic! We even had some first timers! Thank you so much for sharing our special day with us!

We enjoyed working with Maine Mixologist for our wedding. We were able to create a custom drink list for our guests and even incorporated imagery of our dog for one of the drinks. Due to how the bar service works, we were able to purchase the alcohol ourselves from a store in Portland which saved us a lot of money in the long run. Overall, very happy with our bar for the wedding.
