<< About the Inn >>
The Mercersburg Inn was built in 1909 for the Byron family. It is a 22,000 square foot Georgian Mansion with 11 foot ceilings throughout the building. It consists of 17 elegantly appointed rooms with private baths, some with fireplaces and private porches. All guest rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The restaurant and reception areas are on the first floor.
The Main building and Carriage House rests on 5 tiered landscaped acres on the edge of the historic village of Mercersburg. The configurations of our rooms for your celebration are extremely flexible.
The Great Room is a large formal living room with a fireplace. This space is ideal for dinner or dancing.
The adjoining Tile Room (formerly the library) is a large bright, sunny room with a large fireplace that can be used for cocktails or dancing.
The Grand Lobby with a grand dual staircase can be transformed into a setting for a wedding ceremony or dancing.
Byron’s Dining Room with its mahogany paneled walls and fireplace was the formal dining room for the family. It now serves as the formal winter dining room for the Restaurant.
The Sun Porch Dining Room is a large summer dining room for our Restaurant and Breakfast Room for our guests.
The Gold Room is a smaller private dining room. A great space to be used to display the wedding cake and/or gifts. You could also hold a luncheon in this room on the day of your wedding for your bridesmaids or groomsmen.
The West Porch is an open-air covered porch that is a great setting for a spring or summer cocktail hour or relaxing in the open air on a summer’s night.
The Game Room can be used to entertain the children of your guests. We can offer a children’s menu and supply experienced babysitting services.
Our Landscaped Grounds consists of 5 acres of mature trees, tiered lawns, an herb and a flower garden. There are several areas that can accommodate a large wedding tent for a lovely outdoor reception dinner. We can accommodate 70 cars in our parking areas.

The Mercersburg Inn was the perfect wedding venue! We rented out the entire Inn for the evening of the ceremony for guests to stay with us and celebrate, and also rented half of the Inn for the night before the ceremony for out of town guests. We had the best time of our lives! Tomi was so organized, responsive, and professional, and I knew every detail was being carefully watched over by her. Darla made us all feel like family, and the rest of the staff couldn’t have been any more lovely. I wish we could get married again, just to do it all over. We cannot wait to celebrate our 1 year anniversary at the Inn! Photo credit: Whimboy PhotographySent on 12/12/2018

My husband and I decided on an intimate wedding at the Mercersburg Inn. The owners were very flexible in helping us tweak their elopement package into an intimate wedding package so that our loved ones could be present. Everything turned out seamlessly, better than we could have hoped. We filled the Inn with all of our loved ones and were married in a gorgeous sun filled room in front of the fireplace. The food and service were exceptional, and the Inn itself is restored beautifully.
Steven and Tomi are great and took care of every detail. We were absolutely thrilled to be their guests, and my husband and I feel very lucky to have been married at the Mercersburg Inn. We, of course, think it's the best wedding venue around and plan to return for weekend getaways in the future.

We had our wedding weekend (ceremony and reception) here in August 2015 and the Inn was perfect for our small family wedding with about 40 guests. We booked most all of the rooms in the Inn and so the wedding was a special weekend in a private venue with friends and family. The staff and owners (Jim and Lisa) were so kind, helpful, and easy to work with. The Inn chef saved the day with the cake, Lisa helped me sew a few buttons back onto my wedding dress, and Jim even announced us walking into the reception. All the guests including the kids enjoyed the house and the grounds. For rehearsal dinner and following the wedding, guests were able to walk through to downtown Mercersburg which is a beautiful little town. Breakfast was included with each room and the day of and following the wedding all our guests were able to meet for breakfast which was such a nice treat. We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour inside and out, and dinner in the porch dining room, followed by guest relaxing outside. Following dinner we played yards games and cards, and we all enjoyed and relaxed inside and out on the beautiful summer day. We also have lovely pictures around the property that will forever remind us of such a beautiful weekend.Sent on 09/02/2015
