What services does a wedding florist provide?

Your florist will then create a proposal which will describe the arrangements he or she will create as well as the prices.

Flowers: A big part of your wedding flower budget will go to the actual purchasing of the flowers. It actually takes several hours for a florist to put a flower order together—and the flowers your florist will receive from his or her wholesaler or grower are far better quality than the ones you can buy at your local grocery store. They’re grown especially to be featured at events and are hand-selected for their quality.
Flower processing and storage: Once your flowers arrive to your florist, he or she will take several hours (often a whole day!) to process your flowers (taking thorns off of roses, counting the flowers, etc.) and storing them in a refrigerated space to ensure they look amazing on your wedding day.
Labor and production: Now, it’s time for your florist to create those beautiful arrangements! Each arrangement takes time to design (probably more than you would think!), so it’s quite a long process.
Delivery and set up: Your florist and his/her team will then bring your arrangements to your venue. A good amount of work needs to be done on premises to make sure that your ceremony and reception looks picture-perfect, from the altar to the reception table arrangements.
Cleanup: After your wedding, your florist and his/her team will go to your venue to remove all of the arrangements and vessels, and assist with cleanup.

Meg and the team at Ashland and Addison went above and beyond in their service for our wedding! Meg was highly engaged throughout the entire planning process and demonstrated exceptional knowledge in translating our design choices into a floral dream come true! She was so easy to reach out to and very responsive! We were not the easiest to work with as our design choices kept changing. Meg never made us feel bad about all the tiny detail edits we asked for; we must have asked for at least 20 revisions as our vision of the day kept changing. During the initial stages of planning, she was the ultimate team player—skillfully combining our design ideas, her expertise, and the input of our caterer. She was an absolute encyclopedia on flowers! She synthesized every favorite flower we had into a highly polished final product that was within budget! When we finally saw the floral displays, they were more beautiful than anything we could have imagined. The floral arch at the forefront of our ceremony looked like something out of a fairy tale. Meg was exceptional and one of the few members of our wedding team who consistently EXCEEDED expectations. Thank you Meg for being the amazing artist you are!!!

We had met with lots of different florists in advance of our wedding, many of whom tend to push their vision or suggest extra decor (that of course drives up the prices). Cattleya was a breath of fresh air, and Candy was so incredibly easy to work with. She is accommodating and flexible, and offered suggestions to maximize the “greenery” look we were wanting at our venue (The Fairlie). We were floored at how beautiful the venue looked when she was done. Absolutely stunning. And she was there for setup and teardown and was on top of everything. She had even attended the vendor walkthru in advance of the wedding without question (not all vendors will do this). We never once felt like we didn’t get the absolute best service, quality, and results. Support a small local business and use Cattleya!!!! You won’t regret it!
