    Great photographer

    Amy is an amazing person and photographer! She has been taking pictures of our family for 6yrs. She has always done a wonderful job. I love that she catches the moment rather than spend time trying to pose us. I hate being posed for pictures. She can make anything look great. Especially shooting kids. She captures them doing whatever they are happy doing. My husband has blown up some of her pictures of our kids to hang on the wall and we get so many compliments. People love how natural it all looks. My only regret is that I can't move her to Phoenix where we now live. In fact, whenever we come home we book appts with her to get our family photos taken. Love her and her photos!

    We worked with Amy for a little over a year before our wedding. We loved that her packages were easy to navigate and affordable. The love of what she does shines through. She genuinely loves weddings and helping people. On the day of our wedding, she was professional and at times I didn\'t even know she was capturing moments that happened between me and my husband. I couldn\'t be happier with her and her photos. She was extremely professional and even showed us previews on her camera that day. I know we will be recommending her to our family and friends.

    Honestly, I think Amy should be charging more for wedding photography. She is an extremely skilled photographer, and excellent to work with. We had a few snafus, and Amy really helped get me focused and back on track (which wasn't even her job). Easily the best photographer in the Detroit area for the money.

    I can not say enough great things about Amy! At our engagement session she made us feel so comfortable and at ease! She is SO easy to get along with and makes things so much fun. We had such a great time at our engagement session and the pictures turned out AMAZING! She captured exactly what we wanted and gave us so many great pictures. For our wedding, Amy fit right into the group. She was the perfect mix of professional and fun and went with the flow of whatever we wanted to do. She listens to you when you tell her what you want and she will get every picture you want (and trust me, I had quite a list of pictures that I wanted). She is open to every idea you have for pictures and has SO many great ideas of her own. Our pictures turned out STUNNING! There were so many pictures that she captured that really showed the emotion of the moment. She got so many pictures that I would have never thought to get and I am so glad to have them! I truly could not be more happy with our wedding pictures!

    If you want a photographer who will listen to you, really capture the moment, be fun and make you feel comfortable AND has extremely reasonable prices for her quality of work then you NEED to hire Amy.

    Amy is amazing, I knew she was from the first meeting we had with her. When a storm was rolling in she shot quickly to get the photos outside that I really wanted. We did our engagement pictures with her the summer before our wedding so I already know that our wedding pictures are going to be spectacular. She is definitely our photographer for everything now and I cannot wait to see her again when we have a little one on the way.

    Amy was awesome! We loved her sneak peeks and all her ideas for pictures. We can't wait to get the rest of the pictures.

    I do not have enough good things to say about Amy and Pure Amour Photography! Great communication, extremely professional, super fast turn around time for photo processing and a wonderful eye that captures the true moments. I was so happy that I had the opportunity to have Amy shoot my preparations the morning of my wedding. She captured some of the most intimate and heartfelt moments of the day and was an absolute pleasure to work with!

    Amy was so sweet the entire time she was with the bridal party! It was like having another girlfriend along for the ride. She made me feel totally at ease and confident in her ability. I loved how quickly I was able to see a few sneak peeks of our pictures and how quickly she responded to any questions I had. I plan on using her again & again for any moment in life I need captured with photographs!

    I was so excited to have Amy as our photographer - her photos speak for themselves, they are outstanding! Check out her website. At certain points throughout the day I almost forgot she was there, which I consider to be a good thing - I don't like it when the photographer is too in the way to get their shots, and I know it would of made my husband feel self-conscious about just how many pictures were being taken of him, haha.

    The only reason I didn't rate 5/5 stars was that usually Amy is very fast about posting sneak peeks so you can check out some of your photos ahead of time, but for some reason ours took longer and I was a bit disappointed by that. However, that would not stop me from hiring her again, it is her busy season and we still got them faster than other photographers would of, and because I know the final product will be awesome!

    Amy is absolutely amazing! We could not be more thrilled with the work that she has done for us from the engagement pictures to the wedding. Amy is very talented, friendly, and truly a professional. She always made us feel at ease when taking pictures, when it is not always a natural feeling to have a camera staring back at you. On our wedding day, Amy felt like another member of the wedding party. She was so incredibly helpful with making sure that we stayed on schedule, and I don't think I could have got through the day without her! I received so many compliments from our guests about her, and it made me feel great to know others could see how great of a photographer she is! There is no question that I plan on using Amy for all of our future life moments. Amy is amazing and everyone reading this should contact her!

    Amy was great the day of the wedding, it was like having another bridesmaid helping out! She was very organized and got the group shots done quickly and efficiently. For the candid shots she blended right in and got the shots without us even noticing.

    We havent gotten the pics back yet, but the sneak peak was great.

    We LOVED working with Amy of Pure Amour Photography. I was intitally drawn to her because of vintage-themed photos, although she does a wide range of styles and definitely shoots more traditional shots as well. She takes a little bit of time to get back to emails/calls, but that just shows that she's hot in demand, and she delivered everything and more on the day of. She was great to work with, just very calming, not bossy but could take control of a large rowdy bridal party. :) We've only seen the sneak peek on her facebook page but just the glimpse of what she shot has absolutely taken my breath away. And, her rate is an absolute steal for the quality of images she produces. She also takes the time to go in and edit all of her images afterwards, which shows a true passion and commitment to her work. I would 100% recommend any brides in SE Michigan check out her website/fb page!

    I would never recommend Amy to any friends or family. I met Amy prior to signing the contract with her and felt confident that I understood exactly what services I would be receiving (especially after reading the contract repeatedly and being an attorney), but I was incredibly disappointed with the final product. We paid for 13 hours of photography and I was absolutely shocked by how FEW photos we received. We only received approximately 150 photos total! And there was only 1 shot each of so many crucial moments or shots of family members and other shots I specifically asked to be taken (or none at all). I repeatedly asked Amy if she felt comfortable working that many hours and she assured me that was fine. Each of the 150 photos was edited 1 or 2 different ways, but that only bumped the number up slightly. She did not give any directions to help make the photos look better (i.e. lift your chin up, tilt your head, etc.) and the photos reflect that. When I contacted Amy to see if there was any way we could receive any more photos, she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She acted very defensively when I was simply asking if there were any other photos available (in a very nice way). After waiting 3 months to receive our photos, I expected so much more!!!! And for her to be much more understanding when I asked simple questions. I can only say that I am heartbroken that I do not have more photos of the most important day of my life, but hope that others can learn from my mistake.

    Pure Amour Photography's reply:

    Unfortunately this client's story is riddled with many untruths. She received exactly 554 images from me. I would NEVER give a client only 150 photos even for a 5 hour wedding! This client's wedding was a 13 hour wedding and I was comfortable with that. It spanned 5 cities, in which I traveled for a good 2-3 hours in between each location while on the clock.

    When the client received the photos, she said, "YAY!!!! I'm SO excited!!!! I love the photos, they are beautiful."

    She was particularly concerned about the number of photos to which I responded, "All of the photos should be on the proofing gallery - there is 554 photos total. That is the complete edited collection. I do not include the unedited photos." This does include many variations to the photos - (b&w, 2-3 color edits).

    All of my clients know that I post the edited photos and do not include the unedited ones. They trust me to tell the story of their day.

    Lisa continues, " I believe you did a wonderful job, but I thought there were multiple shots of many of these photos and had thought that they would be included as well." I responded to her, "I can guarantee you there are not other images you're not seeing or different images of people I omitted. I also note that for an average 8 hour wedding you would receive a certain number of photos, which usually are about 400, but you have received much more than that. There may be different variations to a photo I took, but always include at least one version of a photo I took. After months of editing I make sure to include the best version of the photo. Sometimes that does include people squinting and I even have cloned heads on certain photos to make the best possible image."
    She also explained that she wished she had more images b/c of a family tragedy that had happened after the wedding. I told her I shoot from a shot list the client fills out from the day and to make sure everything is captured.

    I am sorry this particular client feels this way.
