I was not the bride in this case, but rather a bridesmaid. I had heard the bride discuss how Katie was not responsive. On two occassions the bride heard the same excuse from Katie as to why she was not responding. The brides hair and make up turned out well. However she brought someone along (there was supposed to be 3) and the sylist did the make up for all of the bridesmaid. We ended up with glitter on our cheeks, one had dark purple eye shadow, no foundation or power, uneven eye shadow, brown lip gloss, etc. Needless to say we all re-did our own make up. The bride had paid for false eye lashes, and when the bride asked Katie about them on the day of the wedding, she said she forgot to bring them.

I would expect if a vendor is going to do hair and make up they should bring someone with their same level of experience and expectations. Additionally I would let the girls know in advance if make up included foundation, so that it could be applied prior o.

Of all the vendors I had for my wedding, this was the only one I was disappointed in. I should say in the end, my make up turned out great, but the overall experience was extremely stressful.

I gave Mink an average of 3.5 stars because even though I sent pictures of how I wanted my hair, and did a test run, their main beautician didn't have any memory of how I wanted it. Also on the day of the wedding the main beautician (who had all the make up) showed up 2 hours late without calling me to let me know what was going on. This caused my entire bridal party to sit around as no one could get their make up done. While my make up turned out ok, everyone else's make up was rushed and it lead to a lot of stress all around. The other beauticians who were there to do the hair and make up showed up on time, did a great job, and were nice, so I'm not sure if my experience was an 'anomaly'. I just felt that this experience was the low point of my entire wedding day.

Katie assured us we would have three people on site the day of my wedding to do the hair and makeup of the entire bridal party. It was contracted that she would be the one in attendance to provide services, however, only one assistant arrived on time and Katie arrived over an hour late because an additional event was added although we were previously assured we were the only event that day due to the size of the bridal party. The third person never did arrive...we were an hour and a half late for pictures. Throughout the day, Katie was argumentative and difficult to work with and made the afternoon before the wedding extremely stressful and trying. For the amount of money we paid, the service was abysmal at best. Trying to get a hold of Katie was a chore in itself. I had to send her numerous emails and place numerous phone calls before I could get a response. On one of the most memorable days of a person's life, the stress and frustration is not worth outcome.

Katie was very unresponsive and at times failed to ever get back to me. For someone who's main job is to schedule appointments she does not manage it well. The women who did eventually show up were very nice and did a good job. I would not recommend Mink to anyone.

Katie did such an excellent job on my hair and make-up for the wedding, along with all the bridesmaids. I couldn't have been more pleased with how things turned out. However, she was very hard to get in touch with, and can make even the most organized, calm bride just a little bit nervous! She arrived on time and did a great job on the day of the wedding.

I'm really surprised to see the feedback on Katie. I had a great experience with her. I booked Katie only 2 months before my wedding because another vendor canceled on me. I was planning my wedding from long distance and was not able to do my trials with her until the week before so I was very nervous about that. Katie did my trial from a picture I brought; she was very helpful when I did not like how my hair looked. Not because she didn't do a good job, it was just that the hair-do was not suited for me like it was for the girl in the picture. Anyway, we discussed what we were going to do differently on the wedding day. She also gave me some makeup tips that I found helpful like the shade of base i was using was too yellow. I did two different looks for my wedding and Katie showed up on time and was fast and efficient with my hair and makeup for both looks. Also, she did a great job on my mom and sisters hair. We were all in time for pictures. I received many compliments on how I looked on my wedding day, even from my friends that would not lie to me.

Katie did an amazing job on my make-up and my wedding party's make up. The only reason I rated her lower for Responsiveness and Professionalism is that I found it very difficult to schedule appointments or even get an e-mail response back from her in a timely manner. When attempting to schedule the trial-run with her, I did not hear back from her for several weeks. After three weeks, I called and left a message asking her to let me know if she was still available to do my make-up because I needed to find someone else if she wasn't and she called back right away. With that said, the day of the wedding, she was very timely and did a great job on everyone's make-up. I purchased the "pampered bride" package for myself and I didn't really see much of a difference in my make-up versus the regular make-up for the rest of the girls. She forgot to bring the full set of fake lashes for me (which was an extra cost included in the pampered bride package) but had just a couple of lashes that she used. Just be mindful if you are thinking of the pampered bride package that in my experience it wasn't really that much different and not worth the extra money (which I just considered part of the tip in the end and didn't ask for a refund). One great thing that I would recommend is having the touch-up service (especially if you are having make-up done quite a few hours before the ceremony). Katie came to the wedding venue 30 minutes before the start of the wedding to touch everyone up and was very helpful in that way. I was very pleased with the actual service. Just be mindful of response time and what package you purchase.

Katie and the girls at Mink Artistry were wonderful to work with! I looked and felt like the most beautiful girl in the world on my wedding day! My bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law LOVED their hair and makeup. To this day, the still comment that they have never been more pleased with hair and makeup artists than they were on my wedding day. One of my bridesmaids even took a photo of her hair from my wedding to her stylist for her own wedding a few months later to provide an example of what she wanted for her big day!

Mink Artistry was a great choice for our hair and makeup. Katie, the owner, and Beth came to our hotel to do our hair and makeup the day of the wedding. I had 8 bridesmaids and 1 usher who got their hair done and myself. Beth did a great job and she did all of us by herself. Katie did my makeup, and 3 other bridesmaids. They did an excellent job. Even one of my friends, whose hair always falls by the end of the night was impressed because her half updo stayed put!

The first artist I had a test run with was not good, but I went with someone else who was great!

Hiring Mink Artistry was the worst mistake I made for my wedding. First of all, Kate was difficult to get a hold of. I had to send 2 or 3 emails or phone calls before she would respond each time. Also, she took much longer to do the hair and make up of myself and my bridesmaids (3 for hair and makeup, 1 hair only, 1 makeup only). As quoted on her website, "We usually like to plan 30 minutes per person to complete hair and makeup. We add an additional 30-minute buffer to that timeframe to deal with any unexpected issues." It took her and her assistant well over two and half hours to finish and there were no unexpected issues. With the two hour estimate she had given me, I had planned on being ready 1 hour before the wedding started. In reality, I barely made it there on time. Overall, the lack of flexibility, responsiveness and inacurate time estimate created unneeded stress.

That said, the work she did was wonderful. However, the hidden costs are not worth the sacrifice of your sanity.
