I had my first wedding dress appointment ever, at Maya Couture and it couldn't have been a better experience!!! Melinda Byrd was awesome!!! She listened to all my concerns and wishes and pulled 18 gowns that I could have easily said yes to!!! She was so sweet and helped me to stay focused on what I came into the store to find. I was very nervous about sizing and finding the dress that I had envisioned myself in. My fears and nerves were erased after Melinda put me in the first dress!!! That first dress was the dress that I just said YES to last week!! My experience at Maya Couture was beyond perfect and I know without a shadow of a doubt that I will return to get my bridesmaid dresses and the tuxes. Thank you so much for putting me at ease, pulling the most perfect dress that met all my criteria, and getting me excited for my big day!!!!

I had my first experience shopping for a wedding dress at Maya Couture and I was thrilled to get an email from my consultant, Hannah, shortly after I made my online appointment. The personalized attention she gave me in back-and-forth email communication made me feel like I was her only client. I had no idea what I was looking for and sent Hannah only one photo of a dress I liked with an open mind and very little direction.

When I arrived at the shop I was a little early but was immediately escorted to The Bridal Dish area which was adorable and is set up to offer brides information about wedding ideas, decor, etc. and also offers recommendations and referrals for preferred vendors in the area. Being a planner, I didn't need much assistance in that area but it was an excellent resource for brides, especially since the dress is usually one of the first things we check off our list during the wedding planning process. I just thought it was great that they offer that in their shop.

Hannah was so helpful in guiding us around the shop, showing us the designers we would probably be mostly interested in and allowed us to pull as many dresses as we could find. She also made sure that the dresses we pulled were within my allotted budget of $1000 so I didn't fall in love with a dress I couldn't afford. Not only did she have a very professional yet gentle and friendly manner with my friends and somewhat pushy mother, but she was also the one who found "the dress" - one that I would've probably never pulled for myself but absolutely fell in love with as soon as I put it on. Not to mention, the dress was $325 UNDER my budget!!!

I HIGHLY recommending Maya Couture to my brides and would recommend it to anyone looking for their perfect gown.

I had such an absolute WONDERFUL experience at Maya. I am a plus size bride and they made me feel like I could be just as beautiful in my dress as someone who is a size 2. I worked with Misty and she was just great! She gave me her e-mail and was always immediately responsive. She helped with relieving the stress of being an indecisive person making a HUGE decision. She made me feel incredibly comfortable and in the end I valued her opinion like one of my BFF's. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that I was her only bride!! I ordered my gown from them, so I will update the review once its alteration times!!

I just left Maya Couture and my bridal consultant was Misty. She was awesome. I'm plus size and I'm always self conscious when I am the center of attention and she made me feel great and look great. She wasn't judgmental or anything, very reassuring and her main focus was that I find a dress that I love, and I did. Even the staff that greeted me when I first walked in were friendly. The appointment only concept is the best thing any bridal shop could ever come up with. Extremely happy to have found my dress!

I am not a typical bride, and was not really excited about dress shopping. I hoped to wear my mom's (and grandma's) dress, but when it didn't fit, I accepted the fact I'd have to get my own dress. Still, I didn't want anything too fancy that I could only wear once- it seemed like a crazy waste of money and resources. Another dress store showed me several wedding dresses that were ok but not for me, and they pressured me to make a decision on the spot. But when I went to Maya Couture, Jenny immediately put me at ease and listened to my concerns. She showed me several dresses including many bridesmaid dresses, and I ended up picking a simple and elegant bridesmaid dress in ivory. It is perfect for me AND within my budget and something I may be able to wear again. Best of all, I fell in love with Jenny and Leah from maya couture, who gave me advice while I was trying on dresses. Jenny even let me use her phone to Skype my fiancé to get his opinion. :) They genuinely wanted me to be happy with my choice, and didn't make me feel pressured at all, despite the fact I was in a bit of a rush, trying on dresses only 3 months before my wedding. I highly recommend Maya Couture, and Jenny specifically, to anyone looking for the perfect dress!

I had an awesome experience at Maya Couture! After a not so pleasant experience at another bridal salon which completely caused me to have dress regret, I came to Maya Couture in search of a new gown that didn't have bad memories attached to it. The ladies there were amazing. They researched to find my perfect gown and placed rushed shipping on it to have it arrive in time for my wedding, even allowing several alterations. I'm so thankful they turned my bridal gown experience around and provided me with EXCELLENT customer service!!

The staff was amazing and they don't compare to any where else I went in Virginia Beach. The quality of their dresses is far beyond what I could have imagined especially for the prices they're listed as. Whenever someone asked me about wedding dress or tuxedo rentals I immediately recommend them to Maya Couture and always will!

My dress was perfect thanks to Misty at Maya couture!!! With such a friendly staff and great selection you can't go wrong there. I really liked their flexible hours and willingness to work within in my budget! My experience was top notch from our first visit to my fitting appointments. Misty from Maya Couture helped me find my dream wedding gown. She was very sweet and not at all pushy like some people in bridal stores. Maya couture has a laid back feeling about it and I was not overwhelmed when I walked in the door. We also got all the tuxes from Maya and they also looked great. It was so nice getting everything done in one spot.

Maya and staff went above and beyond my expectations. I am a bit needy... (As many brides often are), but I never felt like I was bothering anyone.. They were all happy to speak to me at anytime and address any needs I had. Service, Quality, and helpfulness was 110%! I will send anyone looking for any type of special occassion dress to Maya.. When I went into maya couture I had no idea what I wanted and Melinda was my dress consultant. She was absolutely amazing and picked out dresses for me to try on that fit me the best. I loved all of them! I then went to a few other dress places just to make sure there was nothing else better then the dress I had in mind that Melinda showed me. I never found anything else so I went back to maya and only wanted Melinda to help me and it was between 2 I was stuck for a while and I had a few bridesmaids come with me at different times to get their opinion. Melinda was very patient, so amazing, and one of the sweetest people I've ever met! I finally decided on the adorae gown it was fabulous. She really made my dream wedding gown a reality . I could not have ever asked for a more perfect person to help me find "the dress" . She attended my wedding and I asked her to put my gown on me that day. That really met a lot to me and she also made my bustle look perfect !! I am truly so honored to have met her she is very professional but personable at the same time which every bride needs that she's very patient I know I was picky!!! From the time I walked in the door and she greeted me she was very nice, professional, beautiful, then I was put with her as my consultant. That was truly for a reason!! Thank you so very much for making my special day so special for me I'll never be able to thank you enough you are such a wonderful special person!! When anyone gets married that I know I will tell then to go to maya and make sure to ask for Melinda!!! She's the best and really knows everything about her job.
