Lisa started out as a very caring, kind, and thoughtful planner, however, she did not stay that way. I hired her early (a year and a half prior to the date) and other than picking the venue, had very little contact with her until it was time to do the save the dates. I would call her, and she would tell me that she was having problems etc. As we got closer to the wedding, she would make plans and promises that would ultimately fall through, or that I would never see the results of, however, when the relationship ended she brought up all of the "extras" she provided us with.

She told me to just use the flowers provided by the vendor that she knew I hated because she didn't want to argue with them.

She gave vague directions to a hairstylist, and when I called her upset, she YELLED at me.

When I called her on things that were bothering me, she called MY MOTHER (who was not paying for ANYTHING) and complained to my mother that I was a control freak. (Which I told Lisa prior to hiring her. I don't deny that fact!)

She spent an insane amount of time trying to find transportation for my guests that I told her I didn't have a budget for, and that I didn't want, and so she went and founf ONE WAY TRANSPORTATION for my guests. *headdesk*

When she started helping my sister with my bridal shower (my mother simply asked for advice, and Lisa took over, only bringing up the cost of her help later, during an argument) My sister asked her to keep her in the loop as to the spending of the money she gave to Lisa. A few days before the shower My sister called Lisa and asked what she did with the money, and Lisa broke down into tears and was screaming and yelling at my sister because she said my sister accused her of stealing the money. (which didn't happen. Lisa was on speaker phone at the time. There are witnesses.) During that conversation my sister said the "f" word (which was the ONLY thing that got Lisa to stop screaming.) and all of a sudden that was the drama of the day. Following that hysterical fit, Lisa, again called my mother to complain about my sister. While on the phone with my mother she told my mom that she was told that she would have to deal with a "wedding like THIS" at some point, and treated my mom like we were white trash because we wanted to have a wedding that didn't put us into debt. (again, I made her aware of our budget from the get-go.)

The only thing Lisa did for us was find the Venue and negotiate the price. She also gave some advice when i managed to get a hold of her. Her daughter's graduation also got moved to the night of our rehearsal, and so, she was unable to attend (which was fine) but she had NO ONE who could attend the rehearsal, which would've meant that I was spending money on a pointless endeavor.

I will add that after the bridal shower drama I was on the phone with my mom listing the things she had not done for me that she said she would and somehow my cell dialed her and left her a message of me complaining to lisa. Lisa called me and quit, not wishing to discuss the matter any further. She also took the DJ (CJ Anderson) she had found for me with her. I have yet to have my deposit check for the DJ returned to me, we cancelled payment on the check.

Considering how stressful weddings are on their own, I saw no reason to keep the drama she brought into my life any longer. I did not try to discuss it any further either.

My wedding went beautifully and the venue picked up the slack left by Lisa leaving. I also found a FANTASTIC and personable DJ (Windchime Productions) that did my REHEARSAL, ceremony and reception, brought lights and effects for HALF the price of the DJ she found for me. The wedding was a success, and I have the generosity of strangers and my own hard work to thank for it.

If you are a DIY type of bride, I would say don't even bother with ANY planner, and if you aren't I would say avoid THIS one.

The name A Diva’s Creation caught my attention as I was frantically searching the Internet for someone to offer me guidance for my intimate (and not very well planned) wedding. Originally, the wedding was going to include our set of children and their mates, but as the (wedding) day grew nearer my husband kept adding names. Aarrgh! I RECEIVED EXCELLENT RESULTS FOR MY WEDDING IN AUGUST 2007 WHICH WAS PLANNED BY LISA. IT WAS A SMALL WEDDING AND MOST PEOPLE ONLY LIKE PLANNING BIG EVENTS BUT IT WAS NO PROBLEM FOR LISA. I GAVE HER SOME IDEAS OF WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR AND TOLD HER THINGS THAT MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH LIKE AND SHE CAPTURED THE ESSENCE OF US PERFECTLY. FROM THE COLORS TO THE MATERIAL, THE ATMOSPHERE MADE EVERYONE FALL IN LOVE. IT WAS BEYOND WHAT I EVEN IMAGINED. LISA PROVIDED GREAT FEEDBACK PROMPT SERVICE. I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE SHE NOW HAS A WEBSITE SO THAT EVERYONE ELSE CAN GET A TASTE OF WHAT SHE HAS TO OFFER. I REFERRED HER TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR OTHER TYPES OF EVENTS (I.E BABYSHOWER, BIRTHDAY PARTY, HOLIDAY EVENTS) AND THEY ALL LOVED THE RESULTS OF THEIR EVENTS. ANYONE WHO DECIDES TO HAVE AN EVENT PLANNED SHOULD DEFINETELY GO WITH LISA, FOR YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
