I had a terrible first impression at David's Bridal. Multiple staff members were rude and uncaring my first two visits. However, my consultant was absolutely wonderful. She was not pushy and she seemed to truly care about me and my preferences; while adding a perfect balance of encouraging me to try other gown styles. After making my purchase, she recognized me and made it a point to greet me the three times I went to the store afterward.

I loved DB for the fact that there is a wonderful variety of gowns and prices, and their sales are pretty good, too. The only reason I would recommend is because of the products NOT the service.

I purchased my wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses at David's Bridal. The first time I went in, the consultant was helpful but there was a lot of waiting involved with her trying to juggle other customers. Considering the amount spent for these dresses, you would expect their full attention. The second time we went back to make final purchases, it was even worse. Although you are supposed to wait for your consultant, we did it ourselves and amazingly, I ended up with a beautiful dress with little thanks to the consultant. It was the one I saw online originally. Their prices are some of the best in town, so if you can put up with inferior customer service and you know what you want, use them. If not, got elsewhere.

Loved my dress and Bridesmaid dresses, I just had to have beads sewn on my dress twice before I left the store after alterations.

Got the dress of my dreams but I had my doubts. I was asked for my price point and I gave them the maximum amount I wanted to pay. I had asked that I would like to be at half that price, still every dress they brought out were at the top of my price point. I don't think they every understood what type of dress I was looking for to go along with my wedding theme. They kept bringing out ballgowns and I just wanted something very organic looking made of flowing materials. After about the 7th dress and still not trying on any of the styles I wanted, it was a miracle I fell in love with the 8th dress. It was not at all the style I was looking for but it fit me perfect and looked great. Once I had bought and paid and got home though I had doubts because I still hadn't even tried on a dress in the style I was looking for, but once I tried the dress on again, I was in love. So I give the dress all the credit for making me look great on the wedding day and not David's Bridal.

We were happy with the price and selection but the staff was unhelpful. They won't let you try on dresses without a consultant yet, when you get a consultant, they don't help you one bit and are always gone helping other customers. The dresses are fabulous and great prices, but the staff is extremely lacking. Go in there and shop around by yourself, because they won't help you pick.

I got my wedding dress at Davids Bridal in Norfolk. I had mixed experiences at this store. The people that greet you don't ever seem very friendly and don't really make you feel welcome when you walk in.

The women I experienced were not very social when I had my wedding dress appointment along with my girls and their bridesmaid dress appointments. You would think a dress consultant would be happy and want to make you feel comfortable.

I had an appointment to try on dresses and it went okay, other than the not very friendly staff. However I was not ready to purchase a dress that day. I went back many months later when it was 3 months from my wedding. I was ready to get a dress and knew I NEEDED to pick a dress. We decided to stop in one day, as we were in the area (we live 1 hr and 15 mins away in North Carolina) and when we walked in they seemed angry we showed up without an appointment. I was not expecting service right away, but I also did not expect them to tell me i could not try on ANY dresses because they did not have a consultant available for the rest of the day, it was 1:30pm and there were only 2 girls trying on wedding dresses with 2 consultants... there were 2 women at the front desk and one at the "welcome" desk. I already even knew which dresses I wanted to try on, all they had to do was pull 3 dresses for me to try on. My mom decided we were going to wait there until someone could help us. About 45 minutes later a women that said she typically does not "pull dresses" came and helped us and turns out I bought my dress that day. It only took 15 minutes for me to try on the 3 dresses and pick my dress... we spent $500 and it's a sale they very well could have lost if my mom hadn't decided we stay even after it was made quite clear we were not welcome without an appointment.

I loved my wedding dress, but not the biggest fan of this davids bridal... they need more friendly staff and need to be more accommodating especially when people are paying so much money on a dress.

This is where I purchased my very beautiful wedding gown and the Matron of Honor's dress. I felt like a princess in my dress! Their selections for wedding gowns are great & reasonably priced, however the customer service is lacking just a bit. It was difficult finding a Horizon blue dress for my Matron of Honor to buy without a special order. Most of the dresses on the rack were somehow damaged (clasps, etc.) They weren't willing to give us a discount. The staff wasn't as helpful as they could have been. Overall, they do have the best value on their wedding attire.

After another company sold my wedding dress to someone else I had 22 days to get a gown, get fitted, get the accessories and look fabulous. Fortunately for me, David's Bridal met the challenge with flying colors...they were wonderful and especially the alterations team - bought two gowns from them and they did everything for me with a few days to spare....everyone said I looked amazing...see photos....and I did...Norfolk Davids Bridal were perfect.....thank you guys!

Great store with a large selection. I got my gown and my entire wedding parties dresses from David's Bridal. The staff was very helpful and attentive and listened to all of my suggestions. I would go there again to purchase dresses for other occassions.

The David's Bridal in VA Beach close to JANAF shopping center is horrible. The customer service is poor to say the least. My dress was perfect but my moment was dulled by the terrible treatment i received. Every time I left that store I felt depressed…not the way you want to feel about your wedding planning. Stay far away i am positive you would find the same quality dresses/accessories somewhere else with much better service. I was kept waiting very often, representatives were rude and pushy. This place left such a bad taste in my mouth I will never go there again, word to the wise take your money elsewhere if you want to be appreciated.

Beautiful dresses at an affordable price, good quality and variety. The best part is that you can take it home that same day!

Found my perfect dress online and confirmed in the store. The Consultant did not pressure me at all. I just happened to be dress shopping during one of their sales so I did get a discounted price. My dress was perfect and I was described as "exquisit". Alterations made sure the dress fit perfectly and I didn't have to pull at it at all.

I was satisfied with my first encounter with David's Bridal. I found THE dress on their website, but it was no longer available in the Norfolk store. They were able to put me in touch with the only store left in the country that had the dress. That transaction process was fantastic and the girl who helped me in one of the Texas stores was awesome and I received my dress in a matter of a few days.
However, I also wanted to get my bridesmaid dresses from David's Bridal as they had the cutest summer dress, which lead to our color choices, and I just had to get them for the girls. There were issues getting this dress though. One of my bridesmaids came with me to try on the dress in the store, and everything went smoothly but once we went to place the final order for them after getting everyone's sizes, they magically had no dresses available for us and said the dress style and colors were being discontinued. So, that meant we would have had to start over and pick new dresses. The thing is, we looked online that same night and over the next few days, and found the dresses online! So much for them being discontinued. So, we were able to order the dresses and received them in a timely fashion. They looked great at our wedding and got many compliments on how cute and appropriate they were for our summer wedding. My overall experience was just slightly disappointing as I never felt special going in there trying on dresses nor did we feel like we were getting a personal experience from the folks at the Norfolk David's Bridal store. They have great deals on cute dresses, just be careful when choosing a store as some people just don't have the customer service skills that are needed for brides and bridesmaids coming in and looking for items for the big day.

I found my dress on the first visit. But I had to order my dress because my size wasn't in stock. I also got my veil and jewelry from David's Bridal. My order came in two weeks early and fit too perfection. Everyone loved the dress and jewelry.

I loved the girl at this location that helped me find my wedding dress, I only wish I remembered her name because she was AMAZING.... AND she is the reason I got such an BEAUTIFUL wedding gown for $248 TOTAL and needed to repairs or alterations.

I found my perfect dress, in my perfect size, ON CLEARANCE and bought it off the rack with no repairs or alterations needed. This was never the type of dress I ever expected to find myself wearing on my wedding day.... However, EVERYTHING my mother and I had THOUGHT would look good on me, LOOKED ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE on my body. And man, I had looked online and in catalogs EVERYWHERE.

The girl who was giving me my fitting realized I wasnt happy with the dresses we expected I would be, and she knew we were on a budget.... she brought a dress over that I just thought was NO-GO from the start, but at soon as she zipped it up and I saw myself, I LOVED IT. She knew what she was doing!

I went in with no appointment time, and walked out 2 hours later with the whole shebang... gown, veil, sash, brooch, and a couple novelty accessories, everything FOR only $422 dollars total. Be open-minded to buying your gown off the rack if you find it in your size, you'll save so much money and hassle of fittings and all that. And it really does help when you get everything at one place all at once, even if you spend a little more than you might if you looked around for a while. I didn't even have to touch my dress or think about it again until I put it on an hour before my wedding ceremony on Virginia Beach.

Loved my dress, the services for getting the dress altered were way too high had to go to my own seamstress. Had a little difficulty when trying on bridesmaids dresses and they discontinued the invatations I was trying to order.
