Do you offer private tastings or open house tastings?
Yes, we book private consultation dates with clients. Typically, these fall on the odd Sunday each month for which we have no weddings booked.
What are your tasting hours?
Usually from 11am into the late afternoon.
Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
We price them by the slice, by the type of icing (buttercream/fondant), by the flavour/filling/extras and also by the detailing of the exterior of the cake.
Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
No, but we do offer a unique service of re-creating your wedding cake as a miniature for your 1st anniversary! Fresh cake is much better and you won't be burdened with having to store/freeze/thaw out your top tier the following year.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
Both! We are happy to custom-design your cake based on the event's colours, themes, styles....or come to us with a photo of something you like and we'll draw inspiration from that.
On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
No further than 24 hours before the wedding date. Nothing is frozen or thawed in advance.
How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
With two pastry chefs, we can accomodate up to 4 weddings per weekend...one each per day.
Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Absolutely! We take part in ensuring the right quantity, colour and size of flowers have been ordered and will be ready for us at the reception. We prefer to position the flowers on our cakes ourselves, as we will be present to assure they are secure and no finger marks are left on our icing.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
An assortment of cake stands and cupcake towers are available for rent from us.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
Yes! Usually $1/km to/from the venue.
