It all started with a college photography competition.

I had originally begun pursuing a public relations career in college and took photography as an elective. My teacher recommended I enter an image of my young cousin playing in the school art show. I won first place.

All of a sudden I was thrown for a loop. I was hearing comments about my "eye for the moment" and ability to "capture the essence and emotion of the subject." I had no idea what this meant. I had just been having fun creating my final photo project for class. I decided to look a little deeper into photography and found that I really did have a knack for seeing who people really are and catching that so-called "essence and emotion" I was hearing about. Technical terms and artsy-fartsy lingo aside-I loved photography.

A lot of this experience has transferred to who I am as a wedding and portrait photographer. My main focus is to capture who you are, in that moment, with my camera. Whether it is a couple's individual dynamics, a family's unique spirit, or a high school senior's strong sense of self, I revel in the experience of human study and would love to create images for you that show who you really are, right now.
