Located in Encinitas, California, Folklore Photo produces authentic and timeless images from weddings and other milestone events. Eri Morita is the proud owner of this business with over two decades of experience to her name. This professional grew up in Tokyo, Japan before moving to New York City to study at the International Center of Photography. Since graduating, Eri has worked as a wedding and editorial photographer for magazines including Vogue Bambino, Newsweek, Seventeen, and Black Book.
Services Offered
Folklore Photo offers a variety of wedding and elopement packages to best suit your specific requirements. Their most comprehensive collection includes eight hours of coverage, high-resolution images, printing rights, an online gallery, and retouching credit for 40 images. Additional options include a pre-wedding portrait session and a second photographer during your celebrations. The use of an additional professional ensures that every poignant and candid moment is flawlessly documented even if they occur at the same time.

A hidden gem in San Diego! Best wedding photos!
Working with Eri was incredible. She was very communicative and easy to work with leading up to our wedding and the day of. Being photo shy myself - I was nervous about the process and how the photos turned out. Our wedding day photos turned out AMAZING. They exceeded my expectations and Eri had them turned around in less than a week. I am so happy with my experience. She is a hidden gem in the area and I highly recommend her.

Eri the journalistic eye
Eri was very responsive and explicit in finding out what photos we wanted. On the day of she showed up on time and was very professional for the duration of the event. We absolutely love how the pictures came out and she was very prompt on getting photos back to us. Wouldn't recommend anyone else!

Beyond excellent!
Eri was the perfect choice for our event. Not only is she a polished professional, but she also clearly has a keen artistic eye with which she took all the pieces of the event and elevated them to a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind photo set!
As an artist myself I greatly appreciate the care and insight she utilized to help us get the perfect wedding photos.
She is absolutely a joy to work with and was invaluable for her direction helping us pose and feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Of the many vendor quotes I received, her pricing is very reasonable (perhaps undervalued for her caliber of service!) and I would hire her again in a heartbeat.
Some vendors are difficult to get a hold of and yet another major benefit to Folklore Photo Studio is her responsiveness/communication. Planning events is hard enough without vendors being difficult to reach.

Folklore Photography was a great choice
My fiance and I found Eri independently, and we both felt she would be a good choice for our wedding photographer. I can't say enough about how helpful and effective she was. She was prompt, easy to work with, communicative, and reasonably priced. She listened carefully to our goals for the photography, arranged all the shots we asked for, and did an amazing job of getting many different shots of the same moment. I cant figure out how she did that. I love the pictures she got for us: formal posed, during the ceremony, and and casual shots of the reception were all excellent. I am so happy we chose her for to preserve our wedding memories.

Best choice of our day!
We hired Folklore Photo to do our wedding photos and it was one of the best choices we made for our special day. Eri did a wonderful job of capturing all of our special moments and was super kind and flexible when we had to go off schedule a bit. She did beautiful work and was such a pleasure to be around. I had multiple friends and family members pull me aside and tell us how awesome and sweet our photographer was. We are so happy with our choice and look forward to working with her more as our family grows through the years.

Eri is very professional and extremely talented!!
WE loved working with Erii. She is very professional and extremely talented. She is kind, courteous, and creative. Eri listened to what we wanted and what we didn't. Our pictures turned out lovely and beautiful. I smile every time I see the pictures.
