We hired Taryn as our wedding photographer in August 2023, and she is TRULY one of the best. After going to multiple weddings and being in others' weddings, what I found to appreciate the most from Taryn was her quiet confident and professionalism. Hire her!

I found out about Taryn through another vendor, as I always liked to ask vendors for recommendations of other vendors. I am so glad she did!

My initial call with Taryn showed me how knowledgeable she is. She gave me some tips right off the bat, and I got a really positive, casual yet professional feeling about Taryn. She was able to also find me a make up artist.

A photographer is one of the vendors that you will spend a lot of time planning with and on day of. We exchanged emails every couple of months (and then weeks / days leading into the big day) to figure out everything from recommended locations for our engagement shoot to locking in last-minute schedule changes based on what I wanted. She was super flexible, responsive, and communicative throughout.

Taryn recommends an engagement shoot, and I'm sure glad we did one. I felt like my husband and I were more giggly and awkward, but we got that out of our system so our day of photos were wonderful and we felt confident day of - a super important detail!

She also met up with me to walk our venue a few weeks before our day. We were getting married at UCSD, and since neither me nor my husband went to UCSD we were a little nervous about making the photos look great. During the walk-through, Taryn and I collaborated on ideas.

On the day of our wedding, Taryn arrived and was incredibly helpful. For example, when something minorly went wrong with a vendor, Taryn helped go speak with the vendor directly to see what the situation was. I felt like she was #teambride (or #teamcouple hah!) all the way through. Taryn made sure that we hit the locations we wanted to, and balanced that with some desires of ours like making sure we were able to take photos with each table.

She delivered our photos a few weeks after our wedding, and they're spectacular. The photos look natural and very representative of what our day looked like. I'm so pleased!!!

We were referred her from photographing my brothers wedding and my husband and I had a 5 start experience working with Taryn and her assistants. In our engagement shoot, Taryn did an excellent job warming my husband and I up to getting our photos taken and being comfortable in front of the camera. Come wedding day, Taryn and her crew flew out to Cabo San Lucas for our wedding weekend. Needless to say, Taryn also served as my therapist and part time wedding coordinator on top of getting fabulous photos. We had Taryn as a photographer for our wedding. The quality and professionalism was well worth the price. She made our photos so much more personal then we thought possible with it's own story that she spend time finding out from us and everything. Where do I even begin to describe the love I have for Taryn and Great Woodland Photography?! It was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding.

As all couples who are getting ready to tie the knot know, vendors are necessary, and you need more than one. That means the costs add up. Prior to us making a decision on who we wanted to utilize for photography, Taryn and I had a FaceTime meeting. I learned about her style which was just like mine and she calmed my nerves when we discussed pricing. She is upfront and honest and very reasonably priced. Most photographers I spoke with charged extra for an engagement session, but Taryn includes this in her package and pricing which was so awesome! To be honest, I didn’t even think I wanted an engagement session, but she talked me into it and man, I’m so happy she did! She traveled to the location of our choice which wasn’t entirely close to her, and captured not only beautiful photos of us, but memories. They are hung throughout my house!

Our wedding day was perfect. No seriously, it was. Nothing went wrong! I arrived to Taryn already on property snapping away at the beautiful grounds. We chose to only have photography for 5 hours but I swear she was there earlier and even later! She’s a true talent and doesn’t miss an opportunity to capture something amazing. She made us both feel so comfortable which was especially important for my husband who’s a bit camera shy. You wouldn’t have even known that if you saw our pictures. We never felt posed, awkward or corny. Huge for me! I wanted to be as natural as possible. We were honestly so relaxed with her. Her suggestions were always accepted and appreciated. I truly can’t express how much we love her!

When we received our wedding photos I don’t think I stopped smiling and/or laughing. Laughing because she captured the most fun moments of the night...the dancing, singing, break dancing, etc! I just totally lit up because I didn’t even think we would be able get those photos due to our 5 hours, but she got em!
