Do you offer private tastings or open house tastings?
Cake Dots offer private consultations which include tastings, wedding cake design etc.
What are your tasting hours?
Consultations are usually held Monday through Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. However, special arrangements can be made if you have schedule conflicts. Just call and we will schedule your consult to fit your hours.
Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
Cake Dots have temporarily lowered their prices from $3.95 to $3.50 per slice during this difficult economy.
Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
Yes, the price includes the top tier of the wedding cake. However, if you cannot wait to eat your top tier and devour it before your first anniversary, just give us a call and we will make you another small anniversary cake so you can celebrate that wonderful first anniversary.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
Cake Dots loves doing custom designed cakes. Whatever you want and usually the design is included in the price -- unless of course, you want something extremely off the wall. :)
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?
Cake Dots uses only the freshed ingredients: sour cream, real butter, fresh eggs etc. We do not purchase our incredients in bulk and shop weekly for our fresh ingredients.
On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
Cake Dots starts baking your wedding cake on Tuesday or Wednesday (depending how large your cake is) so we can concentrate of decorating a gorgeous cake, just for you.
How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
Cake Dots has to limit the number of wedding cakes we do per weekend since there are only the two of us who bake, design and decorate the cake. Three cakes are the maximum and that only depends on how big the cakes are. The larger the cake, the fewer we can schedule.
Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Of course Cake Dots will work with the brides florist. Usually the florist's will have Cake Dots decorate the wedding cake with the flowers they provide.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
Cake Dots does not rent anything. You are able to use any plateau, water fountain etc. FREE of charge. Free rental is our gift to you.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
Cake Dots charge $35 for Columbus; outside of Columbus the charge is priced accordingly but it will not break the bank!
