I can't even begin to describe how special and amazing our cake was! Su is the epitome of an artist. She works in her own way, so let her take the reins and you will be so happy with the end result. Not only was our wedding cake delicious, it was just stunning. Everyone was so impressed!

We used Sue for our wedding on 10/6/18. I would highly recommend her for any occasion! We had our regular wedding cake and a special grooms cake! They were both a huge hit, and the BEST tasting cake I have ever had.

You can tell she is a cake expert and has been doing this for years. She covered all of the bases.

I enthusiastically recommend le Gateau and Susan Larson! Post wedding reflection has made me realize that there are vendors who will offer their services as expected. But there are those other vendors who not only offer what is expected but go above and beyond and actually make a contribution that hit it out of the park! Sue was wonderful to work with and not only provided the most delicious bridal cake, she worked with us to offer our guests unique Australian desserts from the groom's home country. Her grooms cake was such a fun and delicious way to celebrate at the farewell brunch the following day. Sue's passion for her work was such a pleasure! She seemed to not only enjoy her work but enjoyed finding a way to make our daughter's wedding day personalized and special. And did I mention delicious? Her professionalism was so welcome especially when dealing with some bridal vendors that leave you wondering just what you might find at the reception. I just can't recommend Le Gateau strongly enough! We will definitely be calling Sue for any of our cake or dessert needs in the future!

Our cake was such a beautiful highlight of our wedding. High quality, delicious food is a huge priority of ours, so hiring Sue was a no-brainer. Her experience was apparent, as guests raved at how incredible the cake tasted. Sue also invites potential couples to her lovely bakery studio to sample cake, and the booking process was easy and efficient.

From the cake tasting experience to our wedding night, we had a great time selecting designs/flavors and eating delicious cake! We have been to a few weddings and have never enjoyed a wedding cake as much as we enjoyed Sue’s. We had a 3 tier round cake with different flavors for each level including Italian cream with fresh raspberry and chocolate with fresh raspberry. Both with wild berry buttercream icing. The flavors were amazing and did not taste ridiculously sweet as we've come to know American cakes to be. Sue was not only able to accommodate our requests but she also provided us with expert advice regarding the design and flavor pairings. In addition, we planned the wedding from out of town, and Sue was able to accommodate our tastings to include one tasting for us (bride & groom) during a short trip into town and later schedule a separate tasting for our parents.

Sue was prompt to respond to any calls and answered all the questions that we had throughout the entire wedding cake selection process. On the day of the wedding, the cake arrived on time and it looked great. The taste was out of this world. The flavors were natural with no artificial tastes. Truly, the fresh raspberries brought everything together. We had many guests come up to us after the wedding to compliment the cake and ask who was the mastermind behind it.

Our caterer did not leave us the anniversary cake (the top tier of the wedding cake) and as soon as Sue heard about this, she immediately offered to give us a small replacement so that we can enjoy cake for our first year anniversary. We are very thankful that Sue was able to be part of our big day and we highly recommend her for all your cake needs!

Sue Larsen is a one-of-a-kind lady. We really enjoyed going out to her shop to taste cake and look at our options. My husband is in sales and he was immediately sold on Sue when she told us that she had once turned down a customer who wanted a gluten-free cake because that's not what she does best and she only wants to produce the best product. She is constantly honing her craft. As of our first meeting with her, she was the only cake baker in Columbus who was doing beautiful pulled sugar ribbons that perfectly emulated the tulle of my wedding dress. She was also about to leave town for a week to go to a conference where she was planning to learn a few new skills.

Aside from being the best in the business, the other things that set Sue and Le Gateau apart are her artistry and the fact that she will do different flavors of cake in each layer without additional charge. I shared with her pictures of my wedding dress and veil and her interpretation was absolutely stunning. She prepared 3 options in different price ranges for us to chose from. Our cake was featured prominently on entering the reception and it did not disappoint. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the cake was during dinner, but once it was cut and served, all anyone could talk about was how good it tasted. There was very little cake left when all was said and done and we savored the last few pieces. I will probably need to invest in a lock for the freezer to ensure that the anniversary cake doesn't disappear.

Sue Larson was so great when we went to her bakery for a cake tasting. She was very knowledgable and easy to talk with. She has beautiful cakes and it seems like she can do anything as far as decorating goes. I can't wait to see what she does with our cake. The favors were also amazing and she uses fresh fruit instead of fruit fillings. Her prices are very reasonable as well.
