When I began planning my wedding, I knew that I valued the photography aspect so greatly, because I always wanted to be able to enjoy and share the memories. I also knew that I needed a photographer who would bring personality and joy to the day – and Brooke and Candace were the *perfect* solution for that. Brooke has photographed my family for the past few years, and her fun and spunky personality combined with her detail-oriented approach to capturing images, made her the obvious choice for our wedding. She was extremely communicative during the planning process and was very helpful in directing us through our shoot preferences and shoot schedule. Since our wedding was in mid-November, the sunset was early, and we knew that there was specific timing to logistically accomplish the pictures we wanted pre-wedding. Brooke and Candance both handled the onsite timing so well, and made my entire wedding party, family and guests feel like they were part of something magical. We knew that having our two toddlers (and a handful of other youngin’s present) would make for many tantrums, laughs, and great photos, requiring patience and the ability to pivot and adjust to whatever we were doing. Brooke and Candance stepped in and not only helped direct my family and guests to capture the must-haves on our list, but delivered so many beautiful, hilarious, and artistic images beyond what we could’ve dreamed of. Their turnaround time on photos was incredible, and we are still diving through the details and finding new images and moments we love.

We can’t thank Brooke & Candice enough for capturing all of the special moments on our big day! We had to switch our date (thank you COVID) & they were able to hop over to our new date. They were so flexible. We have so many photos & they are stunning. They didn’t miss a moment!! Brooke had us laughing & our pictures truly capture the day. Brooke Mayo’s exuberance is contagious. Her presence during our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony/reception, and cultural welcoming event (hosted by my husband’s family) elevated every fun and joyful feeling. Being in her staged portraits never felt like “posing,” it felt like playing. Our stiffest, shiest friends and family cracked genuine smiles alongside the natural performers.

During events, Brooke and her second photographer, Candace, slipped seamlessly through our parties and captured the most candid and intimate moments without us even noticing. Having Brooke for three evenings in a row showcased her expertise in capturing her subjects’ emotions and chemistry. In our full album spanning the three nights, we can see the stories of disparate people becoming familiar.

Her photographs also show the richness and unique qualities of each location, from the warmth of a fine dining restaurant, to the gorgeousness and unexpected color in a late October landscape, to the nature-forward, artistic scenes created by our decorator. Brooke leaned in to the decadence and the bright, saturated atmosphere of our Indian party as much as in to the cool blues and simple pops of shine in our reception decor. We are so lucky to have these atmospheres perfectly captured.

We chose Brooke and Candace over other talented local photographers for these reasons and we were not disappointed. As an additional surprise, Brooke has continued to spoil us with personal gestures and invitations to explore more of coastal NC. Brooke has made us smile in every interaction, professional and personal.

As a Wedding Planner you have so many options for talented photographers. I’ve had the privilege to team with Brooke and Candace for many years and have seen the pure Magic they’ve captured for other couples and families. When we began planning our own wedding it was mandatory that we have them document our day! They are so fun to work with and make the whole process stress free, relaxed and comfortable, not to mention the gorgeous photos. Photos last a lifetime and that’s why we chose the BEST!!!!! Candace took the photos at my daughter's wedding. She was very professional and got to work right away. She knew exactly how to capture my daughter's vision for her photos. I cannot say enough good things about Brooke! She was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was fun and full of energy! But most of all the artistry of her photos is amazing. From the start, planning with Brooke Mayo was a dream. She was very quick with her responses, and was so friendly and cute to work with, using cute phrases like “love-bugs” and other sweet words! I felt as if I’d known Brooke for a long time! We worked with Candace as our photographer, and she was incredible to work with! We met with her the week before our wedding day, to get an idea of the flow of the day and bounce ideas off her for our exit (which we didn’t have planned yet!). She gave us a great overview of typical flow of the day, and she ultimately let us know it would flow however we wanted. She took great care to ask what was important to us, so she was sure to capture those moments. She also had a great idea of making lists of family members to help quickly find everyone for portraits the day of, this was so helpful because with so many things going on, we wanted to remember to include everyone. Candace took AMAZING images! She captured the raw emotion and happiness on everyone’s faces the entire day and night. She also blended in with the crowd, so much so that I barely noticed her taking photos, and was amazed to see how many she captured! Her “photo-journalistic” style was exactly what we were going for, and her idea of a bubbles exit was perfect, and photographed magically! The images show all of the amazing things we felt that day, and each time I look at them, I have pure joy! Also, Candace and Brooke sent the link with images to us within 48 hours of our wedding day, which was very impressive and fast! Would highly recommend working with Brooke Mayo and Candace Owens!

You cannot meet Brooke without immediately loving her! She is down-to-earth and extremely talented! We hired Brooke to do my daughter's engagement and wedding photos and she is amazing! She has the ability to charm even the most stoic subjects coaxing smiles from those who hate to be photographed. Her style is creative and unique - definitely an "outside the box" photographer! Both she and Sarah covered the wedding ceremony & reception (5 hours) and were constantly on the move capturing every special moment and then some! We could not have chosen a better photographer! Candace and Brooke are AMAZING!! They are super sweet and very helpful. Since I planned my wedding out of state, I would ask their opinion for suggestions on certain things and they were great.
