About this vendor
Matt Lusk is a wedding and portrait photographer based on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He realized his passion for photography on a solo backpacking trip through Australia and Indonesia. He is a self-taught photographer with a tireless work ethic and is known for braving extreme conditions to get the shot. His work is regularly featured in local, regional, and international publications, including Surfer, Surfing, Surfers Journal, Sport Fishing, Marlin, Eastern Surf, Our State, Outer Banks Wedding Guide, and Outer Banks Bride Magazine. He was awarded ''Photographer of the Year'' by Eastern Surf Magazine in 2014. Matt spends his free time outdoors surfing, fishing, and diving.
''My approach to documenting weddings is simple: have fun and tell your wedding story in a unique, creative, and unobtrusive way. I’ll make you laugh and bring out the best in you. Often times you won't even know I'm there. I work very hard behind the scenes to capture the emotion and feels of your day. Your final collection images will include a blend of artistic details, intimate candid moments, dramatic pulled back scenics, and timeless portraiture highlighting your love and connection. Not only do I want you to be extremely happy with your wedding photographs, I want you to have fun taking them. He and our second photographer, John, arrived right on time and brought such a calming, reassuring presence to our day.
The photos never felt staged or forced. They captured the love, joy, and real moments of our wedding perfectly. Matt was go with the flow which made me feel completely at ease. Photography was one of the most important decisions we made, since it’s what you have to look back on forever, and we have absolutely zero regrets. Matt is exceptional at what he does, and we couldn’t be happier with the memories he preserved for us.

One of our favorite things about Matt was how attentive and proactive he was. Whenever someone pulled out their phone to snap a picture, Matt would run over and offer to take it for them, making sure everyone had beautiful, high-quality memories to take home. He made our guests feel included, and it really showed in the candid, joyful photos he captured throughout the night.
And to top it all off, we had our full gallery back in just ONE week! The turnaround was unbelievably fast, and the quality was absolutely incredible.
