  Put Matt at the top of your guestlist

  Matt was the first vendor that we booked for our wedding. This was the most important vendor for me, every couple has certain things that are more important to them and photographs was something that fell at the top of our list. We booked Matt off of work that we had seen when looking at different photographers in the area. Matt's work speaks for itself, but theres another important piece of working with a photographer and thats the person behind the lens. Having someone take multiple pictures of you (in this case, all day long) can be uncomfortable for some people and they might feel awkward but that wasn't the case with working with Matt. Not only did he make my husband feel at ease and relaxed (thank god) but he's just an awesome guy to hang out with. He's someone you want at your wedding, on your guest list. He just makes the day fun and light hearted. We had such a blast with him that day and can't wait to hang out with him again next time we are in the OBX. Matt also gave us a discount on his charter the week of the wedding and took my husband and his wedding party out fishing. They had such a great time and I'd also recommend any couple to have Matt take you fishing, he knows his fishing. The second shooter, John who worked with Matt at our wedding was such an awesome guy too, we didn't feel like the vendors we hired were their working and doing a job, we genuinley felt that they were just hanging out with us having a fun night and I think that's really something special. Matt has a close relationship with lots of the vendors in the OBX and I think that's really important when you have a bunch of vendors together that work so well off of one another. Our wedding photos really captured the emotion of our wedding day which you don't always see when you look at wedding photos. If you're still reading this and haven't already booked Matt Lusk for your wedding then book him right now, you'll be happy you did.

  Matt is a legend!

  Other than marrying my wife, hiring Matt was the second best decision I made in my life! Matt's ability to work with diverse lighting conditions and settings (house, beach, sunset, dance floor, night-time sparkler shots) are absolutely top-notch. He captured every single peak moment, as well as the candid moments in between. Matt manages this while be incredibly go-with-the flow and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was able to process, edit, and deliver our photos incredibly quickly without cutting any corners on quality. If you're on the fence, give Matt a call... you won't regret it!

  Matt Lusk is Amazing!

  I couldn't recommend Matt Lusk more. He went above and beyond on not just our wedding day, but for our engagement session as well. Matt got every single shot that I wanted plus some. You never had to worry about what type of pose to do because he was filled with ideas. He even got my 2 year old daughter to smile for pictures. He was engaged with the entire wedding party on everything we wanted. Our pictures turned out amazing, there is no way I can pick out a favorite. He got our pictures back to us incredibly fast and I haven't stopped looking at them sense. I would absolutely recommend Matt Lusk for any of your photography needs, especially weddings.

  Matt Lusk is absolutely amazing!

  Matt was able to make my wedding dreams come true. His knowledge, expertise and patience made the day seamless. I never had to wonder if he was going to get the shot, because he was right there capturing it all. He was super professional, easy to talk to and fit it with our crowd so well.
  When the photos came I almost cried because they were pure perfection. He was able to capture every moment perfectly. If you are going to choose Matt for your wedding day you will never be disappointed!

  Hire Matt!

  We heard about Matt through a friend (who hired him for a family photoshoot). I cannot say enough positive things about him. From our first meeting/video chat to the last few emails after our wedding, Matt has been totally personable and easy to work with. We went with the mid-level package and purchased the USB stick of our photo gallery. He arrived early and ready to shoot. Full disclosure, I'm not great at posing for photos but he took extra care to make sure i looked my best for each photo. We had a small/intimate wedding (13 people) and he managed to get beautiful photos of all of our guests. My husband and I were totally relaxed around him and he truly felt like part of the family.

  Amazing experience

  Planning a wedding from out of state was difficult - especially when we could not meet any of the vendors in advance. Matt was the first photographer we came across and we absolutely loved his work. He graciously called us while we were planning the year prior, answered all of our questions and helped make our dream a reality. Matt was so much fun, so down to earth, and helped to make sure our day was remembered beautifully. His flexibility and connection with the other vendors made him one of a kind to work with. THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF OUR DAY AND MAKING IT AMAZING!!

  Captivating photos with a 10/10 guy!

He is so chill and makes anyone feel comfortable in front of a camera!   Incredible photographer!

  Booking Matt was one of our best choices for our little microwedding in the outer banks, NC. He is lovely to work with. He helped my husband and I feel comfortable during two photoshoots. We were worried about it feeling uncomfortable to get our pictures taken, but he gave great direction and also made the process fun and enjoyable. Later, he blended into the wedding group (even such as small group of 13 ppl) during our ceremony and dinner to take incredible candids. He edited our pictures so quickly and we were blown away by the final product. Highly recommend!!

  Matt and his work are utterly fantastic. My husband and I live in Europe and had our wedding in the Outer Banks. Matt was great to work with via email and was very responsive and flexible. My husband and I can be a little awkward in pictures and that made us both a little nervous, but Matt was great to work with, he knew exactly how to make us feel more at ease so we were able to get some great shots for both our engagement shoot and the wedding photos! Matt's turnaround time for providing edited photos is really amazing, only a few days after our engagement shoot and just 2.5 weeks after the wedding and we had our albums. We are absolutely IN LOVE with the photos he captured of us and our families. I highly recommend Matt as your photographer for any occasion but especially weddings!

  Top Notch Photographer

  Matt was amazing to work with! He always responded quickly to emails and was patient with my millions of questions. The day of the wedding, he was so down to earth and easy going and was running all over the place capturing beautiful photos for us. He had an extremely fast turn around with getting pictures to us and they turned out BEAUTIFUL. Highly recommend!

  Ocracoke microwedding

  Matt was amazing! He helped with all the hiccups during the day from helping us get to and from the first look to being flexible with change in plans and needing to move inside. The photos are stunning! I get to relive the day over and over again. 10/10

  Definitely would recommend Matt!

  We hired Matt for our engagement shoot and then as our wedding photographer. Us as well as our bridal party appreciated how laid back he was. Our pictures from both shoots turned out beautifully and I’m so happy we hired him!!

  Amazing photos and fun photo shoot

  Matt did an awesome job on our photos. He was very nice and professional and had our photos back to us very fast! Matt and our reverend knew each other from previous weddings, and they were cracking jokes which had me laughing. Highly recommend!

  Book matt!

We are lucky we had him because he helped us forget about the cold. We had a blast doing it! He takes his time and worked with us for all the shots we wanted! In October this past year Matt was also our wedding photographer! We are so happy we went with him. He has a very calming demeanor and helps your day go about with ease. He was like a fly not he wall and captured so. many. beautiful candid moments, including a picture of my older sisters and I sharing a hug. No challenge is too big for Matt! We had a large bridal party and in order to get the shot he wanted he climbed on his other photographs BACK on a BRIDE to get the perfect shot! He will tackle any situation with you! We got our photos back with an incredible turn around time. The quality is outstanding! We had a wedding of 125 guests and I swear he photographed EVERY single one of our guests having a great time! We loved being able to share these with our guests when we got them back! We had the best wedding day and Matt played such a big role in that, we are forever grateful! BOOK HIM!!

  My Pictures look like they belong in a wedding magazine

  Matt is great! He helped us out a lot with posing which we needed! My pictures seriously look like they could be an add. He is very talented and worth every penny. My husband and I could not be happier with his work. I have 100's of favorite pictures now and I am having trouble deciding on which ones to have printed!

  Otto Wedding 8/11/22

  I found Matt at the last minute when I decided I wanted a professional photographer for our wedding. When looking for a photographer I wanted someone who was familiar with shooting sunrise sessions since we were having a sunrise ceremony. Matt went above and beyond for us and we got the most beautiful pictures back exactly a week later!

  As we reflect on our wedding day, the amazing photography is our favorite topic!

  I have worked in the wedding industry and seen countless wedding photographers work, and Matt's professionalism and skills is the best I have ever come across. My husband and I chose Matt to photograph our small/intimate Hatteras wedding in June 2022. Matt caught moments that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Matt gave just enough direction, but also caught the most beautiful natural moments between my husband and I and our family members through out the event. Photography is the most important part of the wedding day so you can have something to look back on over the years. Matt captured the day perfectly, so every time we look through our wedding album , we can easily re-live the day. On top of the great photography skills, Matt is just a kind, and down to earth individual that you want to be around and all the guests loved him. My husband and I can't say enough great things about him and will continue to use him down the road.

  Matt and Jess were absolutely amazing! They were so fun to work with, and most of the time we forgot they were even there (in a good way). Matt actually was behind our officiant the whole time, I did not even have a clue he was back there until we saw photos our friends took afterwards. They were absolutely one of the best things we spent our money on and we can not wait to see the photos! I would 100% recommend them to anyone getting married in OBX who wants funny and talented photographers!!

  Fun, easy and amazing

  Photography was the most important thing for me for our wedding. From the start matt put us at ease and no stress came throughout the entire experience of having him as our photographer. We had to move our wedding multiple times and back and forth places because of covid and he was flexible and adjusting everything. When it comes down to the wedding day him and his wife kept it very calm and relaxed which made for amazing pictures. If I said I wanted something in the middle of doing other pictures, we did it. And they turned out to be our most beautiful ones yet. He added on time only a few weeks out and continued to make it so easy. Thank you isn’t enough. Our pictures are unbelievable, we are so grateful for that and for him making it so seamless for us throughout three years of working together.
