When did you start wedding planning?

How soon after the proposal did you start wedding planning? Did you dive right in once you got the bling? Did you wait a little while to just enjoy being engaged? Did you already have some ideas in your head (or on Pinterest)? When did you start wedding planning? Photo by The DV Image in New York,...

We been talking about it for like 2 years, so mostly the theme, guest, color and wedding squad is been discussed already. Also pinterest is helps a lot to dream about. After our engage, like the next day we started talking about the list of guest to see how big it could be. Like a month after i began to look for prices and venues, comparing private venues or resorts. Right now we still in the phase, is been only 4 months since the ring.

I would just close my eyes and try to imagine that perfect day. Is it sunny? Are you outside? Is there snow on the ground? Are the leaves green or have they started to turn orange? Are the flowers in bloom? Whatever you picture for your surrounds should tell you what season you should go for. And as far as an actual date, pick something that maybe has meaning or something completely random. I picked a date but I'm not 100% set on that date because who knows if the venue I want will be available on that day so just stay flexible. The specific date you pick isnt what really matters. What matters is that whatever day you do end up getting married will be special. Your wedding will make any ordinary day special Smiley smile

We got engaged December 1st, and then the holidays hit. We saw our first venue a week after new years, so I guess we waited about a month. We were planning on only being engaged for about a year and change, but it just seemed like not enough time to save and plan. We set a date for September 2020 after looking at venues for a little over a month. Now we have plenty of time to enjoy the planning process and focus on the details!

We got engaged February 2018 so it’s been almost a year since I’ve said yes! (Still feels unreal) but I started planning immediately. As far as a vision for the wedding. We have a date set for March 2020 but have not found a venue yet! It’s honestly the toughest part. I know how I want me wedding to be so I just need to find a place to solidify everything!

I waited a year because we wanted the wedding to be on June 6th and on a Saturday so it had to be in 2020. We’ve been engaged a year come Valentine’s Day. We will be together 3 years by the time the wedding comes.

I was proposed to in November and we agreed to get through the holidays and enjoy our engagement. I didn’t officially start until January so probably two months. I also knew I wanted a year long engagement to give myself adequate time to plan and not stress.

Honestly about a month after we got engaged we started planning. But then life happened and stopped the planning. We’ve been engaged for a year now and it is full planning ahead.

I started planning literally the week or 2 after because we had already decided on a destination wedding so I knew I needed plenty of time to tell me guests when and where!

Honestly I am planning the wedding before the proposal. I know that is not usual. My boyfriend told me already when he is going to ask me. Since I know that I figured I would start planning early since I have a million different ideas right now.

Well, I proposed January 1st in Hawaii, We got back home January 3rd and went and saw a Venue January 10th, we saw another Venue January 16th and booked it that day as we couldn't pass up what we were offered. January 19th my Fiance went to a bridal event show in Jacksonville and on January 24th we meet a Photography company that she found at the show and booked photography, videography, DJ, and Photoboth with them. We are pretty much done with the big things at this point, we will wait till next year to book catering and look around for cakes. The venue we have takes care of everything else, from decorating to set up etc as it was an all-inclusive, so we lucked out with them. So it was about a week later that we started. I work in marketing and do a lot of event planning, so I'm very type A and like to get things done and out of the way ; ) We talked over the past year about what we wanted in a wedding so it was like we were flying blind.

We started about 3 weeks after our engagement--we're from Ohio and live in South Carolina and we happened to be back in Ohio for my grandmother's funeral, so per her wishes, we looked at venues while we there. I had done some light research after we got engaged for pricing and so forth, and we had a roundabout idea of guest list count, but made inquires to venues while we were in town and set up 9 appointments within 2 days for a 2020 date. We looked at 6 on the first day, with one of the venues being one that we already had our sites on, and ended up only looking at 1 the following day, because we pretty much knew what we had liked and what fit into our price range. We chose our venue 4 weeks after our engagement, which was great because the venue had nothing scheduled for our date, and it's been easier to start other aspects of the planning process. Using websites/apps like this has been very helpful on keeping me on track in regards to planning---I wanted more time to plan and to enjoy our engagement time as well.

While I was still completely in a daze from the proposal (and a bit tipsy), I overheard him talking to friends about all of these ideas he had for the wedding. I was still shocked that even wanted to get married so hearing that he already had ideas about it shocked me even more. So, we basically started planning immediately.

Right away. I actually got so overwhelmed because I didn’t know where to start at first. I ended up just starting with when and everything just came really easily. I already have everything completely budgeted even to the point of where we’re under budget by 2 grand. It’s been pretty exciting

I had been semi-planning before he proposed. Mostly thinking about the dress and decor. Then, after he asked my parents, we really started working on it, checking vendors, dates, etc.

I started getting ideas right away; we were in contact with venues 2 months after, we then started touring them. We have restarted the process because we did not like the keys as much as we thought we would. But now we are a little over a year out and we think we’re finding everything we need!

Hi Lynnie! Our engagement was on December 15, 2018 and our wedding date is 04/18/2020. We actually started the next day with a surprise engagement shoot done by my future brother and sister in law. Since then we’ve secured our venue, secured photographers, picked our bridal party, and sent engagement dinner invites!
