When did you start wedding planning?

Jayla, on January 30, 2019 at 9:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 226

How soon after the proposal did you start wedding planning? Did you dive right in once you got the bling? Did you wait a little while to just enjoy being engaged? Did you already have some ideas in your head (or on Pinterest)?

Mentally I started planning and doing research on average pricing for vendors.
We didnt start really viewing venues for 2 months because we had to wait until vacation to make the trip.

I somewhat started right away. When he proposed I started pricing certain things, thinking of the color choice of the wedding, and about how many people we would have walking.

It took a little while for the engagement to settle in my mind and then about 2months after I started planning. The first thing we did was look at venues and dates and have gone from there.

3 days😂 well I went on a pinterest binge anyway. I waited about a month to actually start looking at venues and building a budget, since the college semester is such a busy time for me.

I started immediately, Its craxy how many people are getting married and sometimes the date to the venue you're interested in isn't always available. I have my mother in law to be helping me plan and it was crucial to get the Venue out of the way as far as where. Then on to the other things like Save the Dates, and moving forward.

We got engaged August 1, 2018 and that week decided September of 2019 would be good so we started looking when we got home from vacation as we knew they would be booking fast and booked our venue on September 1, 2018. Dj and photography was booked within 2-3 weeks after that. Then we have been doing nothing with the holidays and now I have been sick the entire month of January so hopefully I can get rid of this illness (possibly stress related) and we can move forward planning

That's good! I think it's always smart to at least start thinking about what you want early on. How is everything going so far?

Booking the venue is major!! Once you have that taken care of then I feel like everything else really starts to come together!

We started talking about things we wanted right away but didn't start any official planning until 2 weeks later.

Everything is going well. Just the normal stress you get while planning and trying to get things exactly how you want it.

I already had stuff planned out in my head and on Pintrest, you know just for fun. I didn't except to be engaged yet. I didn't know he had it planned at all. But I was just planning things for like the farther along down the road. But after he popped the question, I started looking more into venues and everything just so I can be prepared.

Yes I truly agree, the Venue is The Biggest part and the that's mainly where the money goes in the wedding.

About a week later. I didn’t want to wait any longer, my fiancé and I have been together for over 5 years. Because we live in Denver and the wedding is in PA. My parents actually had to take the tours of the venue for us. I had a dream venue in mind and never thought it would be in the budget but it was! I’ve been on Pinterest ever since I picked out my ring. Honestly after trying on my dress, I don’t think I could wait any longer.
