When did you start wedding planning?

How soon after the proposal did you start wedding planning? Did you dive right in once you got the bling? Did you wait a little while to just enjoy being engaged? Did you already have some ideas in your head (or on Pinterest)? When did you start wedding planning? Photo by The DV Image in New York,...

I had my pintrest board started when we first met 4 and a half years ago. Actually started planing just right after the start of the new year. We got engaged in the beginning of December.

The day we got engaged both families were wanting to start planning! We told them to wait until the next day lol. But it's hard because it is exciting stuff! We had talked about some stuff before the engagement, but on the day we got engaged we decided it needed to be JUST about the engagement and worry about the wedding in it's own time. (aka the next day lol)

Started planning right away. But that was mainly because we had a lot of drive time after he asked. How crazy things happened was I got a new job 4hr away, we found an apartment (we had been looking to move to that area and things just fell into place) two weeks later FH was offered a job, two days later he graduated, we took a day trip for just us and he popped the question! 2 days after that I moved to the new town but our apartment wasn't ready yet so we could only bring a car load of stuff while staying with friends. 3 days later FH moves down. 2 days after that we moved all of our stuff down (an 8hr round trip) and then a week after that we drove across a state and a half for his grandmother's birthday party. With all that driving in the very beginning we were able to get a lot planned out.

I started a month after he purposed and about 14 months before our wedding date. I feel like the sooner I can get it all completed the more time Ill have to relax versus stress. Plus with all the holidays and birthdays the last 5-6 months before our wedding date I'll be very overwhelmed with that and wedding planning.

I got engaged on a Saturday and started planning during my lunch break that Monday Smiley laugh I know that I'm picky and I was paranoid about vendors getting snatched up. I kind of regret doing it that way, I wish that I had just given myself more time to bask in it all. Oh well! Early planning + longer engagement = more basking along the way!

I think the night he proposed I set up my Pinterest board! Haven't had the funds to do any real planning yet, but i've got a ton ideas of what I do and don't want. I'd say i've been planning in my head since proposal night, and hopefully soon the real planning will start.

We talked about it here and there and I brainstormed a LOT based on the tiny budget I knew we would have...... but it took maybe 9 months for us to start actively planning, to tell the truth! There was just so much going on that we didn't even have time to sit down and decide what we actually wanted.

That's awesome! It definitely doesn't hurt to have a plan put in place before actually getting things together.

I got engaged on the 7th of January, and was on vacation at the time. I already have my venue picked out, my dress ordered, and have a date set for my engagement photos. I dove right in once we got home from vacation. I find it easier to get the planning done now so I can enjoy my time being engaged, with little wedding details here and there. I also have been getting ideas and saving them in my phone, both from Pinterest ideas, or going to others' weddings.

He proposed December 26th. My friend is a photographer and came to see the ring and armed with a camera and Pinterest ideas the next day. We called a few venues and are quickly finding out that it is a bit overwhelming. So, I plan a little and take a break. I did already find my dress and possibly a venue. We’ve got until November 2020 so I think we’re movong a long just fine. Some days I think, I want to do it now already! (We’ve been together for 7 years) And then others I think, I need a million years to plan this all! Lol.

To be honest, started doing research before we were even engaged. I’m the planner in the relationship and I know I get anxiety while under pressure so I’m order to feel less stressed out I started planning early. Researching prices, potential guest list, budget, etc

We picked our date the same night lol. But everything else we kind of slowed around on. Then we kind of planned in phases it was a lot especially because we had kind of a short engagement, only ten months. So we would do something big then relax we didn’t want it to take over our lives but sometimes it surely did!
