When talking wedding stuff one day, my future FIL asked, "Are you doing anything traditional in your wedding?" And when I asked what he meant he said, "Like wearing white?" At least I could say YES to that! haha

I love tradition! I studied religion which has an obvious attachment to tradition, my fiancé is Jewish and I'm catholic with Sicilian and Scottish roots but as you can imagine having studied religion (and psychology) I have many different beliefs and practices. For the wedding I'm going for that old European style and were going to have a Chuppa and say a Hebrew prayer, my great-grandmother is officiating the wedding and we're going to write our own vows and do the traditional "I do's" I am going to switch "till death do us part" with something else like "forever and ever" or something because I don't think the subject of death should be brought up in a wedding and I don't subscribe to the idea that we will part after death I think two souls can stay together eternally. In many cultures including Jewish and Italian throwing rice (or something rice like if your being bird conscious.) at the end of the ceremony is meant to symbolize rain, which is said to be a sign of prosperity, fertility and good fortune so we'll be doing that as well, we're getting married on Yom Kippur which is not generally the day to get married but a wedding is much like ones own personal Yom Kippur,

Saturday is the Sabbath day so a Saturday wedding was out of the question which wasn't a problem because I wanted together married on a Sunday anyway and it's considered lucky, I'm also going to do the "something blue". We're also going to have something in Hebrew engraved into our wedding bands and we might incorporate more stuff in but yes in a world straying farther and farther away from tradition I'd like to incorporate as many as possible into our wedding!

One tradition we are doing away with is the traditional ceremony and reception lay out. for financial reasons we decided to have a very ceremony in new Orleans and do the reception with everyone the following weekend in my great-grandmother's backyard and invite everyone we we couldn't accommodate in New Orleans.

Identical Bridesmaids Dresses? Nope, only one bridesmaid and she can wear whatever she wants pithing the color scheme.

Wearing a Veil? YES!

Raunchy Bach Parties? Absolutely not. My fiancé and I are both very strict when it comes to monogamy and conducting ourselves in a respectable and respectful manner so we are going to go out all four of us (our maid of honor, best man, my fiancé and I) to a blues club in New Orleans as a combined Bach party.

Sleeping Separately the Night Before the Wedding? As cute as this sounds I have insomnia and cant sleep without my honey lol

Reception Toasts? Don't know yet, we're doing a two part wedding on different days so I don't know honestly...
