We are so excited to have booked this venue for our wedding next year! From the moment we toured, we knew it was the right fit! It’s new, spacious, and has such a beautiful layout that will work perfectly for our celebration. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and well cared for, which instantly put us at ease. One of the best parts of this process has been working with the owner. They have been so kind, professional, and responsive, making the entire experience feel stress-free. It’s clear they truly care about the couples they work with, and that has made all the difference for us. We can’t wait to celebrate here and are so grateful to have found a venue that checks all the boxes. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful space and an amazing team to work with!

Jasper does a fantastic job with the. Entire wedding experience. Sydney helped my daughter smoothly plan and experience the wedding of her dreams. With a beautiful outdoor wedding, followed by an indoor dinner, and later a wonderful night of dancing. Jasper is professional, prepared for everything (including weather surprises), and on top of every detail to make the night special.

When our daughter got engaged we visited four venues in the Ames/Des Moines area. Glen Oaks was the last and we are so very happy we went with them. Our wedding was this past weekend and we feel like we got the Golden Ticket. The venue is gorgeous (we had the ceremony out on the croquet lawn), the food was fantastic, and every staff member was kind & accommodating. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed working with Shannon, their catering director. It was like having our very own coordinator, wedding planner and friend helping the whole way through. We'd do it again in a heartbeat. Add Bella Flora into the combination and prepare for perfection!!!

Marvin and the Des Moines Botanical Garden staff made our little wedding perfect. We were most grateful for Marvin's expertise and insight as to what would work best, from set-up to the ceremony to the reception. He listened to what we wanted and made it happen. The staff were exceptional, friendly, and helpful. I'm still getting compliments on how delicious the food was (catered by Trellis) and how beautiful the garden was (the DMBG Horticulture Team is brilliant!) I am/was an older bride with no real intention of having a wedding. I thought we were courthouse-bound, but I'm so glad we had a wedding and at my favorite place. It was perfection.

The science center was great. We had our ceremony in the star theater which was absolutely beautiful. And they were very accommodating and easy to work with.

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Downtown Des Moines Embassy Club and couldn't have been happier with the entire experience! We worked primarily with Emily, and she was so responsive and flexible--especially as we planned from out-of-state--from our initial meeting and tour to lots of emails leading up to our wedding day and the entire wedding week. The venue itself is gorgeous, especially the chandeliers, but the views are truly breathtaking, and we loved sharing them with our guests who had never visited Des Moines before. The food was delicious, and several of our friends and family commented on how it was so much better than typical wedding food. We were really pleased and impressed with all of the staff, all of whom went out of their way to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it and that we had a great wedding. Highly recommend!

The entire process with the Marriott was really smooth and easy! Rebecca, the event coordinator, was so friendly and easy to work with - not to mention patient as she answered thousands of my questions! It was an amazing experience and I can't thank her and the entire Marriott staff enough for the amazing job they did!

I might be bias, but Salisbury House & Gardens is one of the pretties venues in the Des Moines area. Because of this, my husband and I didn't have to go overboard with decorations, the space took care of providing an amazing experience all on its own. Depending on your headcount there are a variety of spaces you use utilize onsite, allowing you and your fiancé to layout your event exactly as you envision. We also loved this venue because of its proximity to downtown. We had our ceremony and our hotel blocks downtown then had shuttles bus out to the venue which is only about 10 minutes. To top it off, the staff at Salisbury were very responsive and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married in the Des Moines area!

Everyone at the Art Center was wonderful to work with! They made the process very easy, even setting up the tables and linens for the reception so that I did not have to worry about it. The food from Baru 66 was delicious and everything turned out perfect.

It was an absolute dream to have our wedding at Prairie Moon Winery. A few things that stood out as exceptional were the staff, the space, and how easy the entire experience felt from start to finish. Kacie was incredible to work with. She made planning feel calm and simple, responded quickly every time, and was knowledgeable and honest throughout the process. She helped us with every detail and handled every request, even the unusual ones. She made everything seamless, and I would recommend her in a heartbeat. The venue itself is gorgeous inside and out. Our guests loved being able to move between the reception space, the lawn, and the vineyard. It created such an effortless flow and a beautiful atmosphere for everyone. The decor pieces provided by the venue saved us time and money, and there were endless spots for incredible photos. Prairie Moon was flexible with everything we asked for and made the entire day feel easy. We had an amazing experience and would choose this venue again without hesitation.
