The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and unique, I’ve never seen another venue quite like it, and so this is what initially drew us in. The location itself is great - close to airports, hotels, restaurants, bars, etc. and Des Moines has so many good options for other vendors who frequently work at this venue and with each other, which is also very helpful if you are like me and planning your own wedding. The venue also offers all rooms for one flat rate and so we had essentially 4 different spaces for our guests - ceremony space, cocktail hour space, dinner space, and dance floor space, which was nice considering it was January. With all the space, the guests could flow seamlessly from room to room without having to go outside to a different venue and they got to see all of the beautiful rooms in the venue, which they loved. Not to mention, it was by far the most affordable venue we looked at which you wouldn’t know with how stunning it is. By itself, when we first saw it and again during our ceremony rehearsal, it’s a gorgeous building. On my wedding day however, when I walked in and saw all the florals and decorations in the building I was actually blown away. It was absolutely beautiful. Monica the events coordinator is the sweetest human you will ever meet and so helpful and responsive. We had a wonderful experience overall. Took one star away for flexibility because you can’t have red wine in the venue at all because of the risk for staining (all the drapery and rugs etc stay for events) and initially I was really sad about that because I love red wine, especially in the winter time and with steak at dinner, but honestly none of the guests seemed to care and on the day of I didn’t really even notice so it turned out to be okay!! Also, they have specific vendors you have to use but this was a plus for me because I’m indecisive and otherwise would not have known where to even start with everything else (because like I said I did all of my own planning) and so that didn’t deter us at all. We had both our ceremony and reception at the Downtown Des Moines Embassy Club and couldn't have been happier with the entire experience! We worked primarily with Emily, and she was so responsive and flexible--especially as we planned from out-of-state--from our initial meeting and tour to lots of emails leading up to our wedding day and the entire wedding week. The venue itself is gorgeous, especially the chandeliers, but the views are truly breathtaking, and we loved sharing them with our guests who had never visited Des Moines before. The food was delicious, and several of our friends and family commented on how it was so much better than typical wedding food. We were really pleased and impressed with all of the staff, all of whom went out of their way to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it and that we had a great wedding. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Rollins Mansion! We looked at many venues in Des Moines, but this was the clear winner even upon our first tour. It is a stunning venue, close to downtown Des Moines but once you're there, it feels like you're stepping into a fairytale. We also used their on-site catering service and it was absolutely delicious - everyone loved the food. The staff are incredible and really could not have asked for better service & support through the entire process and day-of. Everything about our day was perfect and I'm so happy we chose to have our wedding here.

We started planning my daughter's wedding during Covid. There was uncertainty as to what a wedding would look like if we could even have it. Staffing was not completely back and everything was unknown. My daughter and son-in-law were living in North Carolina and my son-in-law ended up being deployed and returning only a couple of weeks before the wedding. The Staff at the Embassy Suites Downtown Des Moines didn't blink an eye. They were very accommodating to our needs. The bride and groom couldn't make it to a tasting, so they allowed us to schedule one on their time. Claudia and her staff walked us through changes as our guest list went from between 100-150 to 250 guests. I truly cannot say enough good things about this venue, staff and hotel. The food was amazing. We never noticed the waitstaff unless we needed something. Marcy and her staff flipped the ballroom from ceremony to reception in less time than they had originally quoted us, which allowed us to move quickly to the fun stuff. I couldn't have imagined anything more perfect than what they created! The staff made this venue shine!
