I was lucky to have booked I Do Spas for my wedding day. Jody was very helpful and attentive to my concerns for my wedding day. She was responsive to my questions and as able to book 3 artist for me right away that would travel to Peaks island. Jody was able to work my schedule perfectly after I gave her my preferences of what time I would like everyone done by and what services I need. She worked with the Casco ferry and Portland parking to make sure all 3 artist had all of the information they needed for parking, ferry tickets, etc. She did all of the work so I didn't have to worry about anything. They have been on Peaks Island Inn preferred vendors list for over 10 years come to find out and I can see why. We had the top level salon all to ourselves a plus for booking with the Inn. I wanted to get ready in my room so my artist just moved all of her equipment and products to my room after doing 2 of my bridesmaids. Jody did all of the scheduling and details to make sure my day was perfect. I highly recommend Jody and her wonderful team for your wedding day. Everyone loved their hair and makeup and was open to any styles they wanted (within reason) lol only one of my family members wanted something that her hair was to short for but Tanya gave her an option that was doable and my cousin loved it. You will be lucky to book them, they book up a year in advance. I was so happy to have found them being a bride stationed out of state. My family is from Maine. I was able to do everything over the internet from Ireland (I'm in the military) was flawless as Jody was very timely in getting back to me, booking my wedding and assigning her amazing team for my wedding.I Do Spas's reply:

Amazing and professional!!
I highly recommend I Do Spas!! They showed up right on time and finished early. My makeup and hair came out amazing!! She used all high end products and everything stayed in place all night. Jody from I Do Spas was excellent. Her rates were reasonable and she provided a great makeup and hair artist for my daughter's wedding. She was very easy to contact whenever I had a question and always got back to me timely. It was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend her. I had a very large group of 16 women. I contacted Jody to see if I Do Spas could provide services for this size group and she replied within a few hours to say she had 4 artist that I could book. They traveled to my location way up in Northern Maine at a beautiful Air BNB that we rented for our wedding. All of the artist did beauitful makeup and hair for me and all of my girls and family. Everyone was so happy. Each of the artist where professional, easy to work with and eage to please. They stayed on schedule and even had time at the end to do touchups for who ever wanted them. They made me feel so special. I was worried about the number of services but Jody worked very hard on my contract and schedule and it showed on my special day. I would recomend any bride to book with I Do Spas. Jody has an amazing group of talented artist. I did book a year in advance as their dates seem to fill up quickly. Jodi was so helpful scheduling a makeup artist for 6 women for my wedding. We had Maegan who was so professional, friendly and beyond talented! I have never loved how my makeup comes up, but Maegan was so patient as I showed her what I like and disliked and I loved how my makeup came out! Saved my wedding
Jody was a life saver. I had to cancel my wedding due to covid and had to reschedule everything. My original hair people could not honor my contract and change of date. But then I found I Do Spas and they even had makeup services. Jody was very responsive and went to work fast assigning me 3 professionals that did both hair and makeup and was able to book all 12 packages for us. I had to change my contract a few times with her and she was very happy to make those changes and did it quickly. All 3 artist were amazing. They set up quickly and everyone was done on time. We had an amazing morning getting ready. It was very relaxing and no stress. I would highly recommend Jody and her team for any bridal party. They exceeded my expectations.I Do Spas's reply:

I loved my experience with I Do Spas. We had a covid -reschedule and they were willing to work with us, change the number of people in our contract (we had to decrease due to covid) without any issues. I do spas was great and Tanya, Our make up and hair artist, was amazing. She fit right in with the group, was very friendly and helpful, and she helped my wedding day image come to life. Not being quite a “girly girl”, I was finding it difficult to pinpoint exactly what style I wanted, but I knew the feeling that I wanted, and I knew but I wanted to project outward on my wedding day. Professional and safe fun
Last weekend I married my best friend and my girls and I enlisted the help of I Do Spas. These two stylists (Katie and Bianca!!!) gave me the confidence and calm I needed and I 10/10 recommend I Do Spas services to ANY bride preparing for her big day! Also notable that during these covid times both stylists wore their masks, gave us the option to wear ours, (and skip some makeup services) and utilized fresh brushes and applicators for every single product! We felt safe and again, we had A BLAST!!
** also notable that I have VERY thick hair and I NEVER wear makeup, but neither of these things were a problem!I Do Spas's reply:

Very talented artist!
Bianca was AWESOME! Everyones hair and makeup was absolutely perfect -- no matter if they came in with an exact idea of what they wanted or just a brief idea, she knocked it out of the park. I gave her a picture what I thought I wanted for my hair and she did it 5 times better.I Do Spas's reply:

Booking was a breeze and they worked with me wonderfully to make multiple adjustments.
Our makeup artist was wonderful! She was so friendly and personable. I had a small idea of what I wanted and she nailed it! I enjoyed our experience with her completely and so did the wedding party.
One recommendation would be to ensure the contracted workers have a digital way to receive tips. We scambled to find cash, our fault for sure, but I would have loved to given her a much larger tip for the wonderful services she provided!I Do Spas's reply:

Tania was so quick and expert! She made me look better than I've EVER looked and it was the perfect amount of glam for what I wanted! She also did an excellent job of applying makeup to my mom, who is very averse to makeup - she made it very natural and pretty and my mom looked like a million bucks! We all were so impressed with I Do Spas right from the start. Jody answered my email right away and sent me a request form that was easy to fill out online. I had my contract done by the next day and she answered all of my questions. I went on their facebook page to view their portfolio because I live out of state and wasn't going to be able to travel for a trial. I just loved their work so hired them to come to us for 8 hair and 8 makeup. They assigned 2 amazing artist that were able to do everyones hair and makeup just the way we wanted. They were very professional and I was amazed at how quick they were. They showed up on time with everything they needed to do all of our hair and makeup. I couldn't have been more happy. Leigh Sent on 08/21/2018Katie did the hair and make up for 5 of my bridesmaids and she was fabulous! She stuck to a strict time schedule and was prompt on arrival. We were going for a vintage great gatsby look so she did a similar style on each girl, but made every one a little unique. They all looked absolutely perfect, I would recommend her to anyone!

Everyone, even my two daughters, looked stunning, I was blown away! We had 2 stylists for 8 of us and they were perfect, timeline was perfect, we loved them! Highly recommend. Our two artists were very punctual, professional, and flexible. All of my wedding party looked gorgeous! It was a little pricier than I would've liked, but I think that's the going rate in the area? I skipped doing the bride makeup trial because it was too pricey, but Katie was great at working with me day of to get my makeup just right! -

I worked with I Do Spas for my wedding in Hiram, Maine and was happy to find somebody who could work on site the day of the wedding for hair and makeup. I initially had 6 people for hair & makeup, MOB and MIL for makeup only, and 3 flower girls for hair. I asked if I should hire a second artist, and Jodie said to me "Our artists are use to doing large volumes of services so really it is up to you if you want one or two artists." I trust her professional opinion and so keep the one artist.
The day after I received my contract but before signing and returning it, I mention to Jody that I would need to add one more person for hair only, as my husband-to-be had one of his BFFs who is a woman as part of his party, and she was hoping to have her hair styled. This is only 5 days after our initial discussion of adding a second artist, but I ask again if perhaps we should add somebody else. Jody said she checked with our artist and she is all set to do everybody's hair and makeup within our allotted time frame, no problem. She also mentioned at this point there weren't any other stylists available, so at this point it wasn't an option anyhow. I was assured all would be well, so I didn't worry about it.
I met my stylist at her home for my trial and all went well; my hair was simple but accentuated my hairpiece, and makeup wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I figured I'd sort it out before the wedding. I was at ease because Jenna was very easy to talk to, calm, and I was looking forward to her meeting the bridal party.
The day of the wedding started off well, but everything started to fall apart a couple of hours before the ceremony. My SIL ended up re-doing the hair for two of the flower girls (they have long, straight Asian hair and I don't think Jenna had experience with this). Towards the end it was a rush to get everything done and because of that, I don't think everything was able to be done with a lot of care and attention to detail. Were there a lot of people hanging around in a small space? Yes. Did one or two of the bridesmaids need a touch-up because their hair wasn't holding a curl or their braid was unfurling? Yup. But I think any bride will say that these are expected issues where things don't go perfectly and are in general are built into the schedule. Unfortunately, there was no room for error here with the tight timeline.
Because of this, nobody's hair or makeup was exceptional. Everybody was scrambling at the last second to touch up because there was not going to be time for Jenna to do it. This not to fault Jenna at all - please do not get me wrong here. She was a superwoman and did not eat, drink water, use the bathroom, or even take a break at all. She told me as she was packing up that she wasn't told how many people were going to be needing hair and makeup that day. I don' t know if there was a miscommunication with Jody, but honestly it doesn't matter who was right on wrong - I was the one who ultimately paid the price.
I wasn't planning on complaining about this, but it kept gnawing at me, so I wrote to Jody to let her know my feelings. I received an instantly defensive e-mail back and a promise to follow up back on November 27th and have heard nothing back since, which I don't think is very professional but I suppose now that the services have been paid for that there's not much value in dealing with me. In her e-mail she blamed me because they "did not want to say no" to me in terms of being able to accommodate everybody, but I sincerely wish they would have delivered the news because I trusted Jody as a professional in this industry and in knowing that one person would not suffice, I would have kept on I Do Spas for hair and found another artist to do makeup or vice versa.
I am a reasonable person, and really a patient person who doesn't bring much attention to herself overall, but for our wedding I was really looking for that wow factor and to really make everybody feel special with hair and makeup - and unfortunately that didn't happen.
I thought Jody might have been willing to refund me at the very least the cost of fake lash application (which is not much at $10 a person when you consider the amount of services I booked), but I would have accepted as a gesture of goodwill and understanding and being empathetic of the issues I dealt. Instead I was told that the payment for lashes was in the contract and why she charges for this service.
All this being said, I Do Spas seems to do fairly well depending on your stylist, but I cannot recommend them in good faith if anything goes wrong - from a customer service standpoint Jody makes it clear that she is not interested.I Do Spas's reply:
This was a difucult weddeing as the bride kept addeding services right up until 3 dayss before the wedding. We informed her each time that she did this it would add to her timeline and she was good with this. At one point it was clear that she needed a second artist but we were completely booked and did not have another artist available. She said if Jenna was okay with doing this many services then she was fine with it also. Then came a few months after and she emailed us looking for reimbursement because she did not read her contract that clearly stated that if she wanted fake eyelash application there was an additional fee. We should have said no to her about all of the extra services that she kept adding but she assured us she was easygoing and everyone was going to have very easy updos and makeup which ended up not being true. Our artists performed very well under the strain of this many services. we wish that the bride would have been more appreciative of our efforts instead of wanting money back and writing a bad review.
