  Bar Service for Scripps Seaside November wedding

  My venue only allowed Giuseppe for bar service
  but Erin was very understanding when I was constantly changing my mind regarding bar packages. Thank you for the speedy emails back and patience. In the end, we ended up buying our own alcohol and using their staff for service only.
  
  My only advise is opt into buying glass package, we used the free plastic cups and they are very shallow and lots of guys were spilling drinks when dancing.

  Excellent Wedding Bar

  We contracted Giuseppe's bar services for our wedding reception at Scripps Seaside Forum. We had a seamless experience working with Erin. She is very detailed-oriented and graciously fielded our many contract questions. We were very happy with the "Top Shelf" Package. We believe their prices are very reasonable for liquor (compared to purchasing on your own alcohol and running the risk of getting it wrong!). Our guests loved our signature drink created by their bartenders and I loved that they accommodated my request to garnish with blueberries. Everyone at our wedding loved the bar staff's friendliness and service.

  Five stars all around - we couldn't have been happier to have Giuseppe and his team cater our wedding day. The food was out of this world and the service was outstanding. We had friends and family say it was one of the best meals they ever had -- especially at a wedding! Giuseppe's team (especially Tahnie) were wonderful to work with leading up to our big day, and on the day of the wedding, they were incredibly accommodating and flexible. They even came out of the satellite kitchen to let my groom and I know that they were going to hold our plates so we could go say hi to guests until we were ready to sit down and eat. We cannot say enough good things about the food (so fresh, flavorful and delicious), and the family-style service made this over the top meal feel down-home and rustic. Exactly what we wanted for our wedding day! You can truly taste the love that is poured into this food. Thank you Giuseppe, Tahnie and rest of team!

This team was able to alleviated so much stress and 'concern' that naturally develops throughout the process; even the most complicated requests seem to be processed effortlessly. They are accessible and extremely responsive; but we must say, you don't really have much reason to reach out to them a second time. Our menu was by no means easy, we looked to infuse our Mexican and Nigerian cultures into our theme and food. The team knew exactly how to get our cultural influence included and had ideas that we had never thought of to make things even more unique. If you are one that cared to be complimented on the food and service after an event, you can't go wrong. I would hire Giuseppe's for future events without question, and i highly recommend them for every wedding.

Morgan was a delight to work with - she was so helpful and responsive! We had a guest with severe food allergies and our catering director, David, went above and beyond to ensure she could enjoy the food without a worry - that meant so much to us. Absolutely no complaints!

  There are not enough words to convey how amazing and delicious the food is and how thorough, professional, dedicated, exceptionally personable and overall great Giuseppe and his team are. Giuseppe catered our wedding this past April and not only were we ecstatic but our guests seem to be too! We have received nothing but raving reviews. I am still receiving text messages from friends with photos of our food and exclamations of how delicious it was.
  
  Giuseppe’s team was extraordinary through the entire planning process. From my first initial correspondence to the hundreds after, I couldn’t feel more at ease with a wedding vendor. When we first started the catering inquiry we were working with Jessica but during the planning process she moved on and we started working with Meghan. This is the part where some brides might freak out but due to the professionalism of the team, we didn’t notice the transition. It was THAT smooth. We decided on an “around the world” stations menu. My husband and I wanted to showcase some of the favorites from our cultural backgrounds, and Giuseppe was the perfect person to create and execute our wedding menu. We started with five hors d’oeuvres, a sit down salad course and three stations. Everything was absolutely phenomenal! We even received inquiries on when, where, how our guests could buy the coffee Giuseppe served at the wedding! How many people do you know have been asked about the coffee at their wedding?!?! Even from non-coffee drinkers!
  
  Now, this all might sound like it falls in the more expensive price range, but let me assure you, Giuseppe will work with any budget. He is dedicated to serving the best food and his commitment to making a memorable experience is one to be admired. He is committed to providing his clientele with the best food and service, and seems to accommodate all who want to work with him and appreciate his passion for dining. He's the best!

  Giuseppe and Jessica were wonderful and easy to work with! Giuseppe personally met with Robert and I to get a feel for the kind of menu we were looking for worked with us until we nailed it. Jessica was so helpful and always got back to us right away...which is so refreshing when so many vendors leave you hanging!   We cannot say enough about how excellent Giuseppe was! We are avid foodies, and food is very important to us. We sat down with Giuseppe at his outdoor cafe in La Jolla and had delicious snacks and wine as he thought up the perfect menu for us. It was executed beautifully! And service was incredible all night long! Highly recommend!

  We were so happy we had Giuseppe cater our wedding! Not only was the food incredibly delicious, and personalized, but the service was beyond expectations! All of our guests were wowed by the amazing attentiveness timing etc. of the service, and lots of my girlfriends commented on how good looking the wait staff was, no joke! As to be expected from Giuseppe, the food was divine. It took us right back to visits to Italy. We loved working with hem on the menu and the final product was a beautiful and delicious culinary sensation. Starting with tray passed hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour, delicious salad, dual plated entree served, and the late night snack! In between, we used Extraordinary Desserts and did a Gelato Bar from Coronado Nado Gelato.
  
  Go eat the Museum Cafe at the Contemporary Art Museum in La Jolla to give Giuseppe a whirl, you will not be disappointed. Hopefully you'll be lucky enough to work with Frederick also, we can not say enough good things about him!

I didn't have a wedding planner, so Giuseppe really helped with a lot of the ideas, concepts and coordination. The food turned out amazing, our guests still comment on how great everything was...especially the poached pear salad!!   Guiseppe is a very friendly and wonderful vendor. What's more, he was willing to work with us to make our affair a Mexico meats California menu. He was so very creative with the food, and it was so good. While dinner was a little late, it did not really disrupt the wedding and was not a big problem. His service staff was so friendly and wonderful. Giuseppe makes fantastic food. I can't tell you how many compliments we got on the food.

  Giuseppe was an absolute joy to work with. He, as executive chef, was on site and cooking for our wedding. The food was absolutely fantastic and our guests are still talking about how wonderful it was. His staff was wonderful and the service was superb. I feel like we got the most amazing deal on price as well!

  Only choice but also the BEST choice at Scripps Seaside Forum

  We hired Giuseppe for bar service at Scripps Seaside Forum for our wedding. Although Giuseppe's is the only choice for catering alcohol at Scripps Seaside Forum, we were glad that it was Giuseppe!
  
  Christina, our sales consultant, was super helpful and responsive to our questions and requests. We were able to BYOB (purchased from BevMo) where we created our own drinks menu for the Giuseppe bar team to serve. The bar setup was upscale and I heard from our guests that the bartenders did an awesome job mixing drinks and keeping the drinks flowing.
  
  Highly recommended!

We got married at Scripps Seaside Forum so we were only able to use Bar Giuseppe for our alcohol needs. We did the basic catering and ended up providing the alcohol which we bought from Costco and we thought it was more cost efficient! Still kind of crazy that we had to pay $2500 for glassware, the bar itself, and the bartenders but unfortunately we were locked into this company given our venue. Regardless, the staff at Giuseppe was easy to work with, communicative, and professional. While we thought they charged alot for what services they offered, we did not have any issues with them leading up to the wedding or the wedding day itself so thanks for providing great drinks to our guests and us!

  Wedding food is a difficult task and tough for people who don't love things to be mass produced...but you don't really have a choice when you are serving 200 people for a sit down dinner! Giuseppe has been in the business for many years and knows his california/itialian cuisine and execution of serving. Choosing the menu was the most difficult part for us...we are foodies and wanted something unique and delicious. At first, it felt like Giuseppe was trying to be a bit controlling when choosing menu items, but once we explained and pushed a bit, he was a more flexible and it all worked out. The apps were my favorite part :) Once you finalize the menu, it is executed with Jessica as the lead, and she is absolutely AMAZING! So sweet and dependable, you know everything is going to work out with her around. They were also great with the bar menu and created a signature cocktail for us that was a hit!

So sweet and dependable, you know everything is going to work out with her around. They were also great with the bar menu and created a signature cocktail for us that was a hit!

  This review is for the bar service only. We got married at the Scripps Seaside Forum, where the only option for bar service is Giuseppe's. That said, they were easy to book, flexible, and responsive. Also, they allow you to provide your own alcohol, which we did, and never pushed us to purchase their bar packages or glassware. A word of warning: by law, any opened bottles of alcohol must be dumped out at the end of the night, so if only half the whiskey is drunk you won't get any of it back! We communicated with KJ, who was happy to make time to talk and provided a lot of advice about what and how much alcohol to buy. We ended up overbuying based on his advice, but our guests were relatively light drinkers and estimating alcohol consumption is very difficult. The bartenders were competent and friendly and got good reviews from the guests. One thing that annoyed us is that they put out a tip jar - we had already set aside a tip for them, as for all of our vendors, and we didn't like having our guests feel that they had to pay even a small amount per drink. Also, it was a warm day and the first round of specialty drinks prepared for cocktail hour was watered down by melting ice, but the cocktails got better once they were made fresh. Overall, Giuseppe's provided good bar service and we liked them!

  I only used Giuseppe's for their bar service for the wedding. No complaints about the service, I heard nothing negative from my guests. But I did find their bar packages a little pricey. For example, I didn't feel I needed to pay for all of their employees to be there 2 hours before and 2 hours after the wedding when all they did was pour wine and hand people bottles of beer that I had purchased and had delivered myself. They certainly did not stay 2 hours after the wedding.

  Good food, great service on the day of, HORRIBLE planning beforehand through. This is unfortunate but we would not be recommending this service to anyone in the future. The restaurants are great and the tastings were amazing, but the day of the food was definitely a caliber lower than we had expected from out tasting. The guests liked the food still and didn’t notice (3 food stations –taco bar, Asian salmon, and Mediterranean lamb chops). But since we had had the tasting, we definitely noticed in comparison. For the high price, we had expected them to deliver the same quality as in the tasting.
  
  But, our biggest problem was the planning before the wedding. Our point of contact with them was not very helpful the first few months after signing the contract with them (delayed emails, forgetful of details discussed, etc.) . Then, she up and left one day. Her replacement (who we had been assured would be brought up to speed) had been left with no notes and essentially we had to start planning from scratch again. Then they tried to nickel and dime us for equipment costs less than 2 weeks before the wedding when we had signed the contract 7 months earlier, which had no mention of these costs and they had previously worked with our venue so they knew what to expect in terms of equipment needs. They didn’t even approach us directly about this. They tied to go through the coordinators (who were amazing and handled it so we didn’t have to pay these extra, large costs in the end). The nail in the coffin was that we got exactly 1 portion of each of the three entrees to take home when we expected and had been told we would get ALL the leftovers…we didn’t even get any desserts to take home (and we didn’t get to try them during the wedding, since we were busy entertaining guets and dancing). The appetizers were to die for though…so the food we had was good to great but the execution of planning is enough to stay away.
