Wedgewood Weddings provided catering services through Abbey Catering & Events for our December wedding in La Jolla, CA. We contacted the Abbey well ahead of time to receive a proposal for comparison with other catering groups.

One of the reasons we leaned toward the Abbey is due to our initial conversations with Will Konecki. He was so enjoyable to speak with, and he helped hash out the initial details for our event. He provided us relevant documentation for menus, event rentals, and details on the included floral package. Will also made suggestions for cost-effective solutions to achieve the event atmosphere we wanted to provide for our guests. Will’s event experience allowed him to answer all of our questions, and he was very responsive via phone and email.

We attended one of Abbey Catering’s tasting events where we met Will and other staff in person to taste the different appetizers and entrees. Some memorable favorites were the mini beef wellingtons, the feta-stuffed dates with bacon, and the sesame-soy glazed salmon. We were stuffed with all the food we tried, and we got to see some options for how the guest tables can be decorated. This is also where we met our assigned event manager.

Our assigned event manager was Petr Trebin. As our event date got closer, Petr was very communicative of upcoming deadlines and requirements. Petr was extremely fun to work with. He shared excitement in all his communications with us and made sure we were taken care of well before the event. Petr was onsite throughout the duration of our event and went above and beyond in taking care of us. For example, he set aside a plate of all our appetizers and signature drinks inside the bridal suite room so we could eat our appetizers and drink our beverages in private without having to wait in line. Furthermore, he checked in on us throughout the event to make sure everything was going well and we didn’t have any questions or requests. Before the evening ended, Petr noticed that we barely got to touch our entrees due to being occupied with our guests so Petr packed two meals for us to take home as well as bites from our dessert bar. Petr was a pleasure to work with, and he made the experience wonderful from start to finish. Post-wedding, he shared with us all the photos and videos he took during the event which was a nice gesture. We highly recommend Abbey Catering for catering services for your wedding or any other event!

We hired Abbey Catering for our wedding and they were truly incredible. From start to finish, their team made everything feel smooth and stress-free, especially Petr, our wedding coordinator. I cannot say enough good things about him. He was so attentive, organized, and supportive, especially during the week of the wedding. He handled communication with all of our vendors, double-checked every detail, and honestly made my life so much easier.

On the day of the wedding, my family couldn’t stop raving about how amazing he was. Petr checked in on us throughout the night, made sure we always had what we needed, saved appetizers and champagne for us during cocktail hour, and made sure we never missed a moment. He genuinely cared, and it showed. As a bonus, he captured the most amazing candid shots of us throughout the day.

Everything turned out perfect, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator or catering team. If you want a wedding that feels organized, supported, and stress-free, I highly recommend Abbey Catering. They were a dream to work with.

They turned what could have been a thousand moving pieces into a simple, turnkey solution complete with recommendations, enjoyable professionalism, and unequivocal care on the actual day of the wedding.
They were flexible, fun, and helped pull off a semi-miracle on the day that we'd been planning for 11 months.

The Abbey Catering made our wedding day absolutely perfect from start to finish. Planning a wedding across the country, from Virginia to California, could have been stressful, but their team made the process seamless, fun, and completely stress-free. Our package included almost everything — catering, rentals, florals, DJ, photo/video, photobooth, officiant, coordination, and more — and every single vendor exceeded expectations.

The food was phenomenal — we’re still hearing guests rave about how delicious it was! The floral arrangements were breathtaking and exactly the orangey-peach tones I envisioned, the rentals looked so elegant and cohesive, and the entire day flowed flawlessly.

A huge shout-out to our coordinator, Petr! He went above and beyond every step of the way. From the planning process to the final send-off, he kept everything organized, calm, and perfectly timed. He took my vision and decor and truly brought it to life — I couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator.

Another big shout-out to our photo/video team led by Chris Wood. They were professional, kind, and so intentional with every shot. They made us feel relaxed in front of the camera, captured every emotion beautifully, and I already know the photos and video will let us relive our day forever.

The Abbey truly made it possible for us to have the wedding of our dreams without the stress of searching for multiple reputable vendors. Their professionalism, communication, and attention to detail were unmatched.

Our experience with Abbey Catering was incredible! We live out-of-state but wanted to have our wedding in Encinitas. We were recommended Abbey by a family friend after realizing that trying to work with a bunch of separate vendors ourselves from a different location would be extremely challenging. Having Chuck and the Abbey team working with us made the planning process much less stressful. They worked with us the whole way to make sure our wedding was everything we wanted and more, and were great about engaging with not just us but our family members who lived locally to manage parts of the process. Through the whole planning process and the wedding itself, Chuck’s leadership and coordination efforts kept us confident that the day would go off without a hitch. Abbey’s partner vendors for photography, florals, DJ services, and dessert were all excellent and easy to work with – our photographer Chris Wood and DJ Brian Amarillas were particularly wonderful. All of this culminated in a wedding that was truly perfect! We can’t recommend Abbey Catering highly enough.

No one ever tells you just how stressful and complex planning your wedding can be. My Wife and I quickly found this out earlier in the year as we prepared for our special day.

Fortunately for us we had Abbey Catering and Events in our corner! From the moment that we hit the ground running, Abbey Catering was with us every step of the way.

From our first fantastic contact with Will, to locking in our awesome DJ Abel, to Megan and Chuck doing just a stellar job planning and coordinating the entire event A-Z, our Gorgeous wedding day was nothing short of phenomenal.

Not only were we blown away by the clear and helpful communication, but this team absolutely knows what they are doing in their industry and it shows in their kindness, Care and consideration and attention to detail! They even stepped in to save the day when our initial reception venue had complications and we had to relocate. The food was so delicious, the bar was amazing and kept the party going, and the music and event space truly blew any of our expectations out of the water.

From the bottom of our hearts, we are so incredibly grateful for the team at Abby catering and would highly recommend them to any couples looking for an event company to handle such an important day.
