We could not have been happier with the service we received from Buckboard as the catering provider for our wedding. Right from the initial meeting Ashley, (Buckboard’s sales manager) gave us a personalized introduction and very friendly tasting. It was clear from this initial interaction that she cared more about our experience and less about just becoming one of their customers.

The food was/is absolutely delicious. Every single item was cooked perfectly, and it was clear from the initial tasting that their chefs and cooks take genuine pride in cooking high quality meals that do not come off as “mass produced” like a number of other caterers in the area. We have lost count of the number of guests who told us during and after the meal that it was by far the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, and this is reflective of the company as a whole.

Ashley and JP (the Chief Operating Officer) were both present during the planning process, and worked with us directly to determine a menu that would be both wonderful for the guests as well as within our budget. When dietary restrictions were presented, Ashley and her team made the accommodations easy and care free, and provided options that were also delicious. She and her staff were so friendly and professional on the day-of that a number of guests went out of their way to comment on the crew.

We cannot rave enough about the services we received from Buckboard Catering. To make matters better they also operate a full-time restaurant in El Cajon, which we plan on frequenting regularly when visiting San Diego. For prospective couples planning a wedding, choosing Buckboard as your caterer will not only put your mind at ease knowing the quality of service you will be receiving, but you and your guests will be absolutely thrilled with the meal you get to enjoy.

We loved working with Buckboard and are so happy we chose them to cater our wedding. Firstly, we worked with Amber who was a dream. Very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Our tasting was excellent, and come wedding day it was just as delicious as we remembered. Everything was hot, the service was top notch, and we received tons of compliments on the food from our guests. We decided on the taco bar and dessert bar. There was more than enough food for all of our guests, however I think we could have ordered more desserts. Overall I would highly recommend working with Buckboard to anyone!

Buckboard was such an amazing caterer for our wedding! Even from the first tasting, the catering manager Amber took great care of us. She made careful note of allergies and special requests. She also helped keep us around our budget while incorporating everything we wanted. The food was delicious and got a lot of compliments. My partner and I, as well as our guests, felt well taken care of by the staff. Thank you Buckboard for a memorable dinner!

I cannot say enough amazing things about this team!! The buckboard catering team catered my wedding and they blew us all away!! Ashley was amazing with accommodating our budget, going through the options, hosting the tasting and holding my hand through the process. I had people coming up to me all night telling me how great the food was. They had great communicating with us throughout the process and even with our guests all night. They personally spoke to each guest with allergies and informed them of the best options to accommodate them. They even went out of their way to buy a new salad dressing for a guest with allergies during the event and gave her her own personal bottle to keep at her table. My coordination team was going to take care of cake cutting and our nacho bar but the Buckboard team insisted on taking it off of their hands and took a huge load off of their plates. I got great feedback from everyone about the friendly bartenders and their flexibility with signature drinks and the other options!! I highly recommend you hire them for your next event!

This is a full service. We had the pleasure of working with Ashley and JP. Ashley was with us the day of and made sure me and my groom were fed and taken care of. She even gave me an hors d’oeuvre in between photos while holding a napkin below me so that I didn’t get crumbs on myself. All of the staff were super accommodating and kind. They made sure to be aware of any and all allergies. The food itself was also amazing!!! The guests are still taking about how tasty everything was. They also offer so much for the price. I highly recommend the grazing table and a late night bite. So successful!

Shoutout to Ashley Clark and her team. She worked with my husband and I to create the most delicious menu for our wedding. I honestly can’t say enough about how delicious ALL the food was. It exceeded everyone's expectations. We had few updates before the wedding and Buckboard team was able to accommodate us. The servers were professional and welcoming. Highly recommend Buckboard Catering!!! They really helped bring it altogether so our wedding day was a huge success and reflected our desired vibe.

Out of all the crazy ups and downs with the wedding planning, Crystal made the food and drinks effortless and enjoyable! She was able to design a perfect menu for us that spoke to bother of our tastes. The cherry on top of choosing Buckboard? They provided a great bartender that was equally fabulous! I’m glad to see they only have people on their a-game as a part of their team.

This is a long overdue review but Buckboard Catering catered our wedding back in April 2015 at the Martin Johnson House in La Jolla. They were easy to work with and the pricing was so reasonable compared to other caterers. I ended up not having a wedding coordinator. They ended up coordinating most of the wedding which totally went smoothly and wouldn't have it any other way. They arranged all the table settings, the candy favors and even coordinated the procession. Food was great and people were talking about it after the wedding. We ended up having mango tart pies, instead of a cake, and they cut up all the pies, no "cake cutting fee." They were great. They were professional and easy to coordinate with and very responsive. Bill was great!!!

Buckboard was awesome!! My husband and I feel super lucky to have worked with such a talented, fun, and professional team for our wedding at the Martin Johnson House in La Jolla April 2018. Our guests RAVED and RAVED about the food - it's now 3 months after our wedding and our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was! Our event manager was Crystal, and she and her team (including the bartender!) totally understood our vibe and the mood we wanted to present on our wedding day. Everything from the food, table presentations, market lighting, staff and suggestions on how to lay out the setting was perfect. Crystal made sure everything flowed smoothly, and was so awesome in everything she did. We are so thankful for her help and guidance throughout the planning of the wedding to the execution on our wedding day. We highly recommend Buckboard and Crystal for any event. We got married at the Martin Johnson House, and Buckboard was on our list of preferred caterers that we were required to stick to. We were almost ready to go with Piatti when we stopped by the venue to look around for fun and ran into Bill setting up a wedding. We got to chatting and he immediately sold us on Buckboard without even trying to! We cannot say enough wonderful things about Bill, Veronica, and the entire staff at Buckboard Catering. They are so organized and on top of every detail, and truly go above and beyond the duties of a caterer. They gave us a wonderful all vegetarian fall themed menu that fit our budget, and even picked up kosher meals for family members that needed them. They accommodated all of our ridiculous dietary restrictions with a smile, and the whole staff was really wonderful to work with. Bill was our primary contact throughout the planning process, and he was ALWAYS available, no matter how busy he was with other events. We really cannot stress enough how wonderful this company was to work with! Everyone loved the food, vegetarian or not!
