Smokin J's BBQ offers slow-smoked bbq and fresh baked sides that will tantalize your tastebuds and leave smiles on your guests' faces. Founded in 2016, Smokin J's BBQ is a family-owned establishment that has quickly become the go-to bbq spot in San Diego, serving brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken, hot links, and housemade sides and cornbread. Prior to the big day, our team will work closely with you to put together a custom menu to fit your tastes, and on your wedding day we bring our slow-smoked aesthetic to the party. We bring out one of our six-foot barrel smokers to finish smoking on-site, serving everything hot and fresh straight out of the smoker. Our pitmasters can put together a beautiful full-service buffet line, complete with a carving station for the brisket, or they can build mouth watering platters that can be served familiy-style at the table.

Out of all of our vendors for our wedding weekend Tommy and his team were the most responsive and seamless- hands down. All communication was so fast and consistent.
Day of, the food came on time and they took care of all the set up to have such amazing catering. Even some of our guests said the food they had from Smokin J’s was better than the food we had at the wedding. We even had friends go to Smokin J’s in Poway the day after the wedding they loved it so much.

The bar has a great selection of beers and something for just about everyone, including great craft sodas!
Josh went above and beyond to make our event perfect and memorable, and we got so much fantastic feedback from our guests about how great the BBQ was and how much of a great time they had.
I would definitely recommend hosting any type of wedding or pre-wedding events at this location or working with them for catering. I wish we had photos, but everyone was having too much of a good time!
