We consider this venue an excellent value for the price. The property is gorgeous both outside and inside. Our coordinator was Elizabeth, and she was excellent! Her communication was prompt and she really listened/helped us achieve what we wanted during the planning process as well as the execution throughout the day! We felt comfortable and welcomed by all staff. The food was wonderful, as were our bartenders and servers. We highly recommend utilizing Meadows Edge Floral Design; Gayle made our vision come to life. We also loved working with Mike from Top Hat Entertainment; he totally delivered. The Linen Shop also gave us exactly what we needed for linens for rehearsal dinner as well as reception. For hair/make-up we went with Hillary Fay Studios who were 10/10. And of course, our photographers were Mountain Hearts Photography, who were incredible! All of our vendors knew each other and were very familiar with MTR and the staff. They all worked together effortlessly. It was a perfect day!

My wife and I just had our wedding there this past weekend and it was amazing. Tory and Barry (the owners) are super nice and very helpful. They have been doing this for years and know how to plan a wedding properly. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a barn wedding!

We were married at Boorn Brook Farm on July 2, 2019 and we loved the stunning location from the ceremony up on the hill to the reception in the courtyard. Our host, Jeff Nyweide, ensured that our special event was a fairy tale remembered by all. The atmosphere was festive and warm and the farm is set in just the most gorgeous valley surrounded by rolling hills, mountain peaks and a burbling brook in the background. Everyone that worked with us to plan our wedding and was there on the day was so kind, polite, and helpful. Nancy Andrews, our wedding planner, is a gem and made sure everything was running smoothly from the moment we contacted her a year before the wedding to the actual day of the ceremony. Jeff and Nancy put in hours of communication via phone and email, since we were planning throughout the year from over 10,000 miles away in Australia, and they answered every single question we had. Plus they anticipated details we never would have thought of and were so easy to work with. I don't think we can truly put into words how magical our wedding at Boorn Brook Farm was, so hopefully some of the pictures below will help. We are forever grateful that we chose the Boorn Brook Farm as our special place to get married and highly, highly recommend it as a wedding venue!

If you are looking for a beautiful and quintessential Vermont wedding, look no further. Choosing to get married here was easily the best planning/vendor decision we made; we would choose Lareau again 100 more times. The entire experience was beyond what we expected, from the planning, to staying at the inn with our friends, to having a smooth and fun wedding day, to details like having a roaring fire to sit around at the end of both nights. Helen, the event coordinator, is an absolute beast and working with her is a huge benefit of getting married at Lareau. We’ve had many friends talk about challenges communicating with various wedding venues – you will not have that stress here. Helen helps make the process pretty seamless, by checking in with us in the months leading up, coordinating the inn stays, helping us plan all the details of the catering and bar, and more. We loved working with her! On the wedding day, the staff handles everything, so we just enjoyed ourselves. The ceremony space is peaceful and secluded, and when you walk back after the ceremony, you round the corner to see the fire pit roaring, lawn games and reception set up. It's a perfect Vermont scene. Our reception in the pavilion was so much fun and the food was, of course, wonderful. My friends and family raved about how much they loved the food for a long time after! We had 130 guests with a LOT of energy, tambourines, singing, and dancing, and there was plenty of space in the pavilion. Anyone with the opportunity to get married here absolutely should!

We got married at the Mad River Barn in July and it was an absolute dream. Truly, I cannot imagine a more perfect place or better service. The venue is stunning, from the pavilion, to the grounds, to the restaurant and pub, everything was so beautiful. I could write a book about the amazing service provided by Adrienne and her team. Every single member of the MRB staff we encountered went above and beyond to make our day perfect and to make our guests feel at home. All weekend we heard from our guests about how awesome and welcoming the staff was. This was particularly important to us because we had a multiracial group of guests. Adrienne was an excellent communicator every step of the way, she is warm, experienced, thoughtful, accommodating, professional, even-keeled, just plain awesome...the list goes on. She was available throughout the planning process, and she and her team (special shout out to Taika) were superheros on the day - appearing with french fries when we were hungry and hiding out before the wedding, printing our vows and speeches on card stock morning-of, wiping down each bench for the ceremony after a downpour an hour before the ceremony, you get the point! Let's take a moment for the FOOD! I often hear that no one remembers the food at a wedding, but the food at MRB is truly memorable. Our guests are STILL talking about how delicious everything was. Chef Sam and his team are amazing. We had a casual welcome gathering in the on-site pub Friday night (so fun!) and the wood-fired flatbreads and salad were amazing, the cocktail hour and ceremony food was incredible (still salivating over the mac and cheese), and the breakfasts all weekend were phenomenal. Our guests also loved our after party in the pub and were able to get delicious late night snacks. Chef Sam checked in throughout to make sure everything was good (and yes, everything was perfect and delicious), and his team was very accommodating to our guests with dietary restrictions. It was also really fun to have the whole wedding party, immediate family, and additional friends staying on-site at the venue all weekend. It cut down on stress for everyone and made the whole weekend feel so, so special. I also need to mention the "pinterest shed." This shed is full of signs, vases, votives, baskets, frames, lanterns, place card holders, etc. for decorating. This. Was. So. Helpful. Basically everything I needed was already available with lots of different items and styles to sort through. Honestly though, the venue is so beautiful, that it barely needs decoration. If I could give Mad River Barn 10 out of 5 stars I would. My husband and I loved it, our families loved it, and our guests loved it. Several guests have shared that our wedding was the best one they'd ever been to, and we have to give all the credit to the MRB team. WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

Now, after witnessing the renovations, I am absolutely in awe of the transformation! The upgrades have revitalized both the barn and the farmhouse, breathing new life into an already beautiful space. While I cherish the memories of my own celebration there, the enhancements now make the venue even more inviting and modern, all while retaining the charm that drew me in years ago. The perfect blend of rustic elegance and contemporary touches has created a stunning backdrop for couples beginning their journey together. The views surrounding the venue are positively breathtaking, with multiple ceremony location options that provide picturesque scenes from every angle. The Barn at Lonestar Acres offers simply beautiful settings that enhance every wedding moment and make for exquisite photographs, capturing the magic of the day. I am beyond thrilled to see that this beloved venue has undergone such thoughtful renovations, ensuring that countless more families can create their own unforgettable memories there. We had the BEST wedding at the Old Lantern in November 2025! The barn was absolutely beautiful for our reception and was a perfect size for our guest count (140ish). We lucked out with the weather in being able to have our ceremony outside right by the barn, but had the option to have it inside the barn (which would have still been a wonderful option). All of the staff we worked with throughout the entire planning process were so kind and helpful, and they made the wedding day itself run so smoothly. We really liked that catering by Backyard Bistro was partnered with the Old Lantern so we didn't have to worry about finding an outside vendor. We rented the barn for the whole weekend (Friday-Sunday) which gave us plenty of time to set up and take down without feeling rushed. We also rented the Inn on site to stay in with our wedding party for the weekend and it was such a great decision because it let us be right on the property and it was so fun to spend extra time with our friends each night. Our hair and makeup artists were able to come to us and all the girls got ready in the large common space in the Inn while the boys got ready in the parlor suite in the barn. There were so many great places for photos between the inn and the barn and our wedding pictures were beautiful. We are so grateful for this venue and would HIGHLY recommend it for your wedding!

Bridal suite is stunning!!! There is an amazing view of the mountains from the barn, perfect for fall foliage. The venue is extremely private with no simultaneous events going on, and all personal requests we had are being accommodated. They also have preferred vendor for every need, which not being from the Rutland area was a huge help! Very happy we chose this location as there are many options out there.

My husband and I got married at Chez Nous November 2024 and it was everything we dreamed of. John and Cheryl were an absolute dream to work with. Their passion for the property and making wedding dreams a reality made the planing process so enjoyable. We cannot recommend this venue enough. You will not regret choosing it as a wedding venue! Thank you so much Cheryl and John!

Recently hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at Calcutta’s as well as private dinner at Terra. Both events were outstanding. Staff and Chef were very helpful in planning the event and food was excellent! Can’t say enough great things about the people and the events. Highly recommend!!!
