The Barn at Smuggler’s Notch is a Stowe, Vermont wedding venue located at the base of Mt Mansfield Vermont. It serves destination weddings in the Stowe, Smugglers' Notch, Burlington and New England region. This elegant, modern venue with rustic charm is set on a historic farm amongst wildflowers and manicured landscape. It is surrounded by panoramic views of the ski area, Mt Mansfield and the Green Moutains. The Barn at Smugglers' Notch is Family Owned with Steve, a sommelier, Jennifer a retired RN and now Certified Wedding Planner and Jamie Certified Wedding Planner and Event Organizer. The owners are on-site for every event making sure the timing and coordination are perfect.

Facilities and Capacity

Couples may entertain up to 200 wedding guests at the Barn at Smuggler’s Notch for their bridal showers, ceremonies, elopements, engagement parties, receptions, rehearsal dinners and other events. The great lawn is 70,000 square feet and is surrounded by gardens, wildflowers and mountains creating a stunning backdrop for your outdoor festivities. Indoors, the post and beam construction, with it's natural and white washed wood create a beautiful palette for couples to add light, tasteful decoration and personalize this rustic, contemporary space. There is heat and air-conditioning for year-round events. The venue has wood floors throughout including a large dance floor and a custom timber-built bar as well as an outside bar. The Post and Beam Monitor Barn has all the comforts couples could want while still remaining true to the rustic vernaculare of the natural surroundings in Vermont. Unlike dark converted dairy barns, the purpose built venue is flooded with natural light with many window and no interior obstructions, creating a bright and inviting event space. Post and Beam construction ensures that the floor plan is wide open and versatile. There are no posts obstruction views or limited the possibilities. Long fifty foot stretches of 8' high double french doors and plenty of windows provide unobstructed views of our natural surrounding as well as natural light. Lighting is supplements with custom built chandeliers, cafe string lights and up lightings. There are even artisan hand crafted light fixtures over the bar that we created by blowing out french wine magnums. All details in the venue are high end and elegant including orignal art work. There are elegant rests room in the venue as well as a complete bathroom in the private bridal suite. The bridal suite has luxurious furniture as well as hair and make up stations with broadway mirrors. The on-site professional kitchen enables all meals to be cooked on site. The venue has a house music system with wireless mic and can play indoors as well as outdoors. The covered patio lounge offers views of stunning surroundings in a luurious setting with lounge furniture. A large 30 X 45' gabled kedered tent has additional lounge furniture for more covered seating. This space can be turned into a cigar/bourbon tasting bar for later in the night. Classic adirondack chairs surround 3 large firepits which can be rented for basking in the glow of the flames while making smores'. The venue and grounds are handicap accessible.

From exquisite catering options to meticulous planning, we are committed to surpassing your expectations. Jamie will work with you from the day you book with The Barn to help coordinate your vision. This service also provides support to couples in creating a destination wedding. We have experience with hosting luxury weddings and events from destination couples from around the world. Bar services are offered in-house and save couples the cost of hiring an outside bar services. Professional bartenders, bar setup and Reidel crystal glassware are included free of charge for bar services. Bar Serives are flexible and can be designed to coordiate your vision and budget. Our wine list created by sommelier owner, Steve, are from vineyards in the classic wine regions of Europe and California. Vermont Craft Beer, local ciders and spirits are offered. Couples have input as to what is served at their event bar as well as what portion they would like to host. The Barn is flexible and works with couples to match desired vision for bar and the couple's budget. Champagne or Sparkling toasts, signature drinks and an extensive selection of craft beers and spirits are offered.

The Barn at Smuggler’s Notch has in-house catering that is cooked on-site in our on-site professional kitchen. The catering team has over 20 years of experience in Vermont. Sourcing local ingredients and even growing them on their own farm to create the ultimate Vermont farm to table experience. All menus are custom created for each event so couples can have input as to the budget and vision of the menu created for their wedding or event. From local farm-raised and grass fed Vermont beef and pork to local, organic free-range chicken and owner farmed and grown produce The Barn at Smugglers' Notch emphasizes local quality ingredients. There is a dedicated team of chefs, servers and a catering director, Sam that will take care of every detail. The catering team can accomodate any food allergies or lifestyle restrictions. They can also create custom and creative menu options to incorporate your culinary vision and ethnic and heritage roots.
